Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

This is our 2nd visit to the Boathouse and we were just as happy this stay. It’s a peaceful, very comfortable place situated right across from the water and within walking distance to places to eat and some lovely shops. The pool is great and the whole place just so well kept, clean and very relaxing. We highly recommend and will be back.

Hotel's Favourite
We recently stayed at the Boathouse Resort Tea Gardens for a long weekend getaway. What a great little place to stay. Clean, comfortable, air conditioned. Lifts available, a full size kitchen, and most importantly a only short walk to the restaurants. The pool is absolutely beautiful and the BBQ area spotless. We had an upstairs room and the balcony was quite large and private, with a lovely day bed for reading. We had a great trip to Nelson Bay on the ferry one day, doing some shopping and having a lovely lunch. There is also secure parking. Drew and Kerrie are so friendly and helpful, they are doing a great job. We will be back and will definitely recommend to our friends.

We had a wonderful time at The Boathouse Resort Tea Gardens, spectacular surroundings, beautiful resort and our apartment Number 306 was really quite lovely, met all our expectations. Asked the management team, if possible for a quieter located apartment and they accommodated us perfectly. Drew the manager of this excellent resort is tremendous, extremely helpful , friendly and doing a wonderful job as the complex is spotlessly clean and very appealing. Had such a wonderful time when Drew offered us a great rate for an extra night we gladly accepted. Handy eateries in walking distance, especially enjoyed Tea Gardens Boatshed , tasty food and terrific staff. Much to my husbands dismay found a beautiful clothes boutique Bohemian Spirit , lovely purchases for me and pacified darling with a scrumptious pie from the well known 2 Fat Bakers Bakery, win, win..... Spent most days on Jimmy's Beach, lovely hidden treasure.. We will definitely holiday at the majestic Boathouse Resort again, as self funded retirees will gladly take up one of the special deals offered at this wonderful establishment. Ticks all our boxes.. Regards Katrina & Robert

We very much enjoyed our night at The Boathouse. The rooms were clean and spacious for our family of 5 and had everything we needed. The girls enjoyed the pool and it was so nice to easily stroll down the street to the shops and along the waterfront. Thanks so much!

As always the Boathouse provides a very comfortable, easy, and friendly place to stay in the Port Stephens area. Good amenities, comfortable beds, great balconies facing the water, with plenty of interesting birdlike and the ever elegant Pelicans. Very soothing for the soul.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and the kitchen had all necessary. Within easy walking distance of cafes and restaurants. Supermarket a short drive from there. Nice level walking area and a choice of waterfront or not.

Thank you so much for our recent stay. Drew had everything ready for us, including offering us another night, unfortunately we could not take that up, too many commitments at home. We needed a break and a rest and that is exactly what we had. rested, walked and enjoyed the beautiful weather. We loved staying in 306, I am sure that is the one we have had previously. perfect for us, lovely balcony and great place to sit and read. We have been there several times before and will certainly be back in the near future. Thank you so much Drew and Kerry.

We have been to the Boathouse Resort many times & will continue to return. Drew & Kerrie are perfect hosts assuring that all details of our stay are fulfilled! Our 2bedroom apartment overlooking the river was fabulous with the morning sun allowing us to have breakfast each day on the deck! Tea Gardens is a quiet, sleepy little place during winter & this is exactly what we love! Restaurants, cafes & shops are within walking distance or no more than 5-10 min drive to a Country Club & a Golf Club for meals out! We will definitely be back next year! Thanks again for a great stay Sue & Graham🤩🤩
