Detailed Reviews
We visited the restaurant tonight and we opted for the surf and turf special medium rare. The steak was rare, tough and still mooing. While we were there three people returned their steaks to the kitchen complaining about the meat being undercooked. I also returned mine and was greeted with a rude waitress trying to tell me that raw steak was classified as medium well done. When I eventually received my meal it was still undercooked, tough and inedible so I left it on the table never to return.

Ate a meal here last night. Eight of us had a different meal and everybody was happy. Meals came out a bit staggered but were hot, fresh and generous portions. Prices were pretty standard club prices.

We were looking for dinner for our family.. and came across the Club.
Food was good and stuff are very helpful and accommodating. Kitchen had a problem on the night and my kids was very hungry, stuff came over and offer a decent size garlic pizza while we wait for the kitchen tone fix... and we are all very impress by the service and kindness. Thanks for a great service!

Large clean room, firm comfortable bed, crisp, fresh linen and a large bathroom make this excellent value for the price. The outdoor sitting area and another at the back of the building is a bonus. Having the Country Club next door solves the issue of finding a meal, however the meal I had did not live up to other reviews. While the vegetables were fresh, the meal was ruined by everything being drowned in a gelatinous, tasteless, gluggy sauce reminiscent of the bland Chinese food of the 60’s. Presume the bit of fresh coriander on top enabled the dish to be labelled as Thai cuisine though the flavours generally associated with such food where not evident. Will stay again at the motel, but will go further afield for the evening meal.

The Eatery at Tea Gardens Country Club was really good. We went there twice for food, even though we weren't staying at the motel - during our recent trip to tea gardens. The first night we went with the kids and they enjoyed the garlic bread and the honey chicken but didn't really like the schnitzel. I'm coeliac and they had heaps of gluten free options. Their Thai curry (GF) was more like a spicy Chinese dish than a thai curry but was very generous in serving size - and had heaps of ginger. The Mongolian beef (GF) was definitely the highlight and we didn't leave any behind, while the satay chicken was a bit less "saucy" than I'm used to having. The pizza was great as well. Both times the staff were friendly and accommodating. Thurs night there was trivia and Fri night a meat raffle.

Tea Gardens is an hour away of Newcastle airport, heading towards Lake Macquarie turn off on Pacific highway. The restaurant at Country Club is mostly Chinese menu but can get a few pub favourites. The meal was delivered hot and was delicious, would recommend this restaurant.

The woman at the door was very friendly and welcoming, which was great. The young guy behind the counter found it difficult to make eye contact. Although there was hardly anybody else in the restaurant, he decided to start serving the people Behind me before he had even finished with me. He didn’t offer me a receipt and I was there on business. The chef brought the meal to the table again without making eye contact. The lamb was slimy because it had been marinated In whatever cheap restaurants do to make things slimy. Except that it wasn’t a cheap restaurant it was over $30 for the dish. They hadn’t bothered peeling the ginger. I would not eat at this place again.

The bed was ok and clean. The room had an awful odour, it smelt like it had been flooded at sometime. Possibly from the tea tree swamp behind. The carpet was sticky and very obviously needs replacing. The whole place was pretty shabby. It’s only positive is that it’s close to the Country Club.

The rooms are very tired, furniture all chipped and falling apart,
stains on carpet, fridge with mould, hairdryer hanging off wall and not working, previous guest feaces on front of toilet. YUCK we couldn’t wait to get out of there. Stayed one night.
Checkin lady was lovely and sheets clean.
