We stayed there for one night with a camper, mid February 2020. This place are located close to the beach. The beach was calm without that big waves that’s usually along the coast. A clean place and facilities. Can recommend Breakwall Holiday Park to everybody.

Despite grumbles from some reviewers this park remains very popular and booking is advised if not essential.
What we like is the views, the proximity to the beach, the amenity of lawns, kiosk, fishing, surfing walks etc at your door step. The bird life and dolphins and whales are always an added attraction. It’s a safe place for children to swim and fish, however the if the surf is up discretion is necessary.
Negatives to be aware of: Some sites are on the Main Street opposite the shops and can be noisy in summer when the pub is pumping. COVID has fixed this😳Sites on the sea front can be windy so be prepared to put your awning away at night. The council worker that fires up the leaf blower at 7am might like to start later 😬
Nearby parks and towns are also a delight but we have not been in the car for a week because we just love it here.

We were booked here for a 3 night stay in a camper trailer but when we arrived, after a long tiring drive, we were faced with the parks very strict set up rules which we had never come across before.
….You must have the drawbar facing the road for quick escape in case of emergency.
…You must fold out your annex on the mat side
… You must not park on or peg into the mat
….Your car must be parked between your annex and the site next to you
This is all very well if your camper folds out on the passenger side but ours folds out on the drivers side.
This made it impossible to comply with these strict set up rules!!
We asked at the office if we could swivel our trailer around, as it is very light to maneuver… and if there happened to be an un emergency evacuation, we would have to leave the trailer behind anyway because it would take time to pack it up.
Marc… in the office… was very nice but said that if we set up any other way the manager may come around and tell us to change.
We were just organizing a refund when, after a call to the manager, it was decided we could park on the mat if we didn’t damage it. I took plenty of photos of the already damaged mat before setting up to prove it wasn’t us. I’m hoping the floor of our camper isn’t damaged from having to lay it out on the rough dirt and gravel.
Apart from this bad experience, the park was ok… amenities clean… (lower amenities) shower heads very low if you happen to be tall you’ll have to crouch down to wash your hair. And there is a pointless hand dryer in the ladies which nobody uses because it’s almost useless. If you’re not going to supply paper towels then at least install something with some drying power.
Nice spot but probably won’t stay again.

Hi Eager B, thank you for sending us your feedback. We're disappointed to hear that you had an issue with your camper trailer set up. The regulations are set by council however we do understand that some camper trailers set differently to the standard. We apologise for the confusion on your check in after a long drive. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the park itself and we do hope we can welcome you back in the future - Nicole

I booked a 1 bedroom cabin months in advanced and we ended up with Cabin 1 @ $153.00 per night. We booked 2 nights.

On arrival I asked if there was another cabin available further back into the park as this cabin is literally outside the boom gate and right by the road. Apparently there were no other available so we went along with it.

The cabin is old and in need of demolition. To list some faults: the cabin does not sit even on its footings so the floor inside is uneven and you feel you are walking on a slope.
Whilst the main bed was actually comfortable - the mattresses on the bunk beds were so old and thin. The bunks themselves were diwnright dangerous.
The blankets in the cupboards smelt stale and likely had been used and not washed.
The pillowcases on the bunk beds also smelt like they had not been changed. I had to go ask for a set of sheets for the bunk bed and changed the pillowcases.
The taps all need new washes as they squealed and dripped.
The sliding door needs new rollers and there was no screen door.

The park is located well - this is about it’s only good point

This was by far the most expensive place we stayed on our 2 week road trip and by far the worst. So disappointing as I was really looking forward to our stay here.

Didn’t bother taking photos or complaining to the office because I’m sure nothing would have been done as they seemed pretty booed out.

Hi DarbynJoan, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're disappointed to hear that your stay with us didn't meet your expectations, as our ultimate goal is to ensure all our guests have a memorable stay. We apologise that you weren't satisfied with your overall stay. Thank you for highlighting these areas for us to improve. These cabins are due to be replaced as a part of capital works in the hopefully near future. We stayed at one of the beach front cabins. It was very comfortable with a good bed and nice deck at the front. It had everything we needed. All the staff were very friendly. The park has a central location so it’s good for access to restaurants and cafes. It’s close to a couple of beaches for morning or evening walks. Good value stop over.

Stayed here in a standard cabin for 3 nights and thank god it was only 3 nights! These cabins should be demolished and definitely not allowed to be booked out!
Firstly, after confirming a week before arriving, our cabin was supposed be close to our other family members, only to arrive and find out they had given our cabin to someone else, and then to top it off we were given the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in.
They are very run down with a lot of dampness in every part of the cabin, with the walls peeling off literally. They smell of sewage, the blinds are falling off the doors and don’t close, under the bed has some sort of slimy substance there, they don’t leave any soaps, hair shampoos or conditioners, and they really need to replace their bathroom towels!
I would definitely recommend people staying at the other holiday parks over this one

Hi Janine, thank you for your review. We are disappointed to hear that you were so unhappy with your stay and the cabin allocated to you. We do not guarantee cabin or site numbers however we do try to accommodate guests requests but this can be difficult with differing length of stays and not always possible. Kempsey Shire Council will be replacing 5 of our cabins as a part of capital works next year and we do hope that you will reconsider another stay with us in the future. Kind Regards, Nicole

We were very much looking forward to our annual fortnight here. It's one of our very favourite spots, which is why we've been coming here every year for about 6 years. So this has been booked since last November. Then with 4 weeks notice, we get an email saying it's cancelled because they've got some work to do on our site. Not even an apology! Ultimately, after a major battle, they've offered us a discount for November 2023. But an absolute refusal to reschedule their work (which I suspect is just the replacement of the concrete slab), to allow our holiday to go ahead.
Unbelievable absence of decent management, customer service or common sense!
Bottom line - if you book ahead here, don't assume it will be there for you when the time comes.

Thank you for your feedback regarding our Holiday Park. I understand your frustration with regard to the lack of communication prior to your arrival. I sincerely apologise to you and your family for this inconvenience. Your feedback will be discussed further to ensure that we better communicate such temporary closures where advance scheduling is possible. It is also my understanding our Park Managers tried to apologise to you on numerous occasions for this inconvenience, however due to your demeanor it was quite difficult to convey their apologies and any alternative solutions offered. I appreciate that every family holiday is meant to be a memorable experience, and I can only apologise for any inconvenience you and your family were caused. I understand every attempt was made to rectify this situation, including offering you alternative accommodation at our sister Holiday Parks. As I am sure you will appreciate managing our capital upgrades between our busy seasons can be challenging and quite a balancing act. Due to our Christmas season fast approaching, the only time we could assign to have these works completed to ensure our sites are upgraded to the highest possible standard to ensure ultimate guest satisfaction, was during the time you had unfortunately placed your booking. Consequently, further alternatives such as delaying the works to your site were unable to be offered. Thank you for your continued patronage at our Holiday Park, we look forward to welcoming you in 2023.

From the first time I saw this caravan park over 20 years ago I have always wanted to stay here. So now that we are finally here what do we think. Location, location, location. We got site 61 which puts us broad side to the beach which is very nice when you wake up in the morning. The staff are friendly and helpful. South West Rocks is a great location too.

Used to love coming to this park but now is so run down. Bathrooms need urgent upgrades. No space to put your clothes, shampoo. Very hard for old people. Clothes lines need replacing. Needs gutters put in as when rains water every where. 1 Dryer for our end of park. Told other one getting fixed, 6 days later still 1 . This was in pouring rain. Ladies lined up for hours waiting for 1 dryer. That's disgusting. So sad to see this once beautiful park so run down. Really don't think they care. Allow pet's but no poo bag's anywhere in park or council park. No kitchen's to cook as well, Sorry to say all the above but so true .

Hi Sandy, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're disappointed to hear that your stay with us didn't meet your expectations, as our ultimate goal is to ensure all our guests have a memorable stay. The amenities block you are referring to is being replaced in the next coming months. We are also awaiting parts for the dryer which is out of our control and it is unfortunate that one of the dryers has been unavailable during the high amount of rain days we have had over the last month of your stay. Hello Thank you for your question. It would be due to a couple of factors, the time of year you were inquiring to stay for eg the season. June is our discount season. Also as council have recently adopted increased tariffs the amounts go up from 1 July. If you are able to provide me with the dates you enquired for I can confirm the amount for you.
