On arriving in the Blue Mountains we went straight to our hotel, The Carrington, a beautifully refurbished grand hotel originally built in 1833 and recently renovated, with gardens still a wprk in progress. Old world charm, albiet a little rough around the edges in places, but still retaining the old world charm. Beautiful dining room and lounge, traditional morning teas,...

We had cocktails in the lounge. The decor was turn of the century and just lovely. The cocktails showcased every decade for more than the last hundred years. Such a treat! It was a pleasure to step back in time and enjoy the celebration of a special cocktail with friends.

Stepping back in time to a bygone era. The room was clean and spacious, bedding was comfortable. Staff are friendly, courteous providing great service. Makes a welcome change to the modern hotels of today. Some restoration work is still being carried out but does not detract from the beauty of this hotel. In the heart of Katoomba close to many...

You have to visit this place. Its as iconic as Raffles in Singapore. I plan to stay at this hotel some day soon and its a superb place to go in the colder months. We came here in September and we enjoyed a drink in the main lounge area. I absorbed the history and ambience. True old world. The dinner...

You can almost picture the magnificent dances of the early 1900's... the roaring 20's... men in pin stripes & boleros.... Beautiful classic hotel restored with love and retaining the class & history! The art work & furniture are an experience of their own... Linen is luxurious, crisp & clean - room servicing without fault! Food in the restaurant was very...

Colonial wing is the place to stay if you want to experience the old world charm and that's why I chose to stay in that section. The staff were professional and courteous but interestingly none appeared to be warm or friendly. The free breakfast was pretty basic and you have to pay extra for a hot breakfast. If you want...

I booked a two night stay here thanks to the reviews on Trip Advisor and I wasn't disappointed. Wow what a beautiful building. It really is like stepping back in time. The hotel is very well maintained and the staff were very friendly. We were given the Lady Carrington suite which has a beautiful view overlooking Katoomba town and the...

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary in a Junior Suite. The suite was lovely, with an old world charm, four poster bed and a glorious view over the mountains in the distance. We watched the sun set over the escarpment before dinner in the Grand Dining Room. Dinner was a very nice 3 courses at a set price, with...

I would have liked to have visited this magnificent hotel in it's hey-day, however it is still a standout in terms of accommodation in Katoomba. Slightly dated these days but still a beauty. The guy with the moustache at reception was really friendly and helpful with the kind of old fashioned service it is hard to find these days. Don't...

I recently went to the Carrington for a friends wedding. The pork belly, chicken and ice cream were lovely. The Lounge has a lovely feel to it for drinks and the dining room is beautiful with a lot of original pieces
