We loved the 19th Century feel of this hotel. Beautifully restored. Only a block or so form the train station. It is up on a hill, so if you are dragging lots of luggage, you may want to avoid steps by entering from the rear of the building. You also have to be willing to

My family and I stayed at the Carrington on an extremely hot weekend. Unfortunately, when booking, I didn't realise that half of their rooms had no air conditioning. It was also unfortunate that it was such a hot weekend. While the staff and amenities were lovely, our

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. Unfortunately your stay coincided with a heat wave. Being a Heritage Property from the 1880s we have strict conditions about changing the outside appearance of the building. As a result we are not allowed to hang air conditioning units anywhere within sight. Only one style of room has air conditioning. These are our Colonial Rooms. They are above the carpark so we were able to place the units in the carpark and feed the piping up through the floor. These are our standard rooms so they are cheaper than our Premier Rooms and Suites. We do not increase the rate on these rooms during summer to reflect the added convenience of air conditioning. In years gone by there has been little need for air conditioning as the summers were cool. Occasionally the temperature would soar but it would just be for a day or so. With the changing world weather patterns the last few summers have been severe with whole weeks or 10 days now having temperatures of 30 or above. This situation has resulted in the hotel rooms becoming warmer than ever before. The hotel has accommodated millions of guests over its 139 year history without air conditioning. Heating to survive the freezing winters was always the priority! However we do accept that the higher temperatures are now a reality so we are now looking at options to air condition more rooms but this is proving difficult. We do believe our rates are reasonable and it is not feasible to change them based on weather conditions. Portable units are not an option due to draining issues. Thank you again for your review.

We stayed at the Carrington for one night as part of an organised trip to the Blue Mountains. From the minute we arrived we were impressed. Our room wasn’t ready but the receptionist took our bags and gave us helpful information about the local area, so we set off for Echo Point

My husband and I visit the Blue Mountains each year and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere but the Carrington! The big draw card for us is the age and style of the hotel. It's like stepping back in time and we instantly feel at home. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our

So stuffy and hot with a window that opened up to a concrete recess and opposite another room if opened destroyed ALL privacy. No air conditioning and no air from a window. Window in bathroom seized. I am so disappointed with my experience in the hotel. I don’t know how I

Hi, the room we were allocated was a room connected to another room with french doors separating. The first room had a double bed and the connecting room had two single beds. So to answer your question, it did fit four people HTH :)
