Detailed Reviews
Stayed in here for my wedding anniversary/babymoon. Can't decided whether to go with this one or at the sister hotel Lilinfels, so we decided to stay at both hotel during this trip.
Echo boutique hotel is a really small, stylish and quiet building that located right next to the big Lilianfels resort. Compare to Lilianfels busy, this hotel is charming and I found it is very quiet. Maybe because there are only 14 rooms here (each with views) and therefore there was significant less traffic.
Stayed at Lawson (yes each room has its own name). It is a relative small room, but with amazing view. This place is pricy, but it is one of its kind and the location is unbeatable.
Because I booked this place at last min, SPA was fully booked (make sure you book one month in advance!!) I spent nearly most of my stay here just to sit on the balcony, sip a tea, enjoy some snacks while enjoy the view.
The front desk manager Bryant add a personal touch to this stay. He delivered a cute chocolate plate to us after he noted that this is our wedding anniversary and shared some of his personal story with us. It really make it as part of the experience.
Some information about this place:
facility: Echoes share the facility with Lilianfels. it do not have its swimming pool/gym/tennis court, but you can enjoy all these facilities in Lilianfels.
Room: Carpet and wall are outdated looking, room is simple (I won't call it luxury but it is functional). really like the position of the bed, which is right next to the mountain view (yes I woke up at 6:30 and managed to watch sunrise in the valley on my bed!!!)
Balcony: The delux room is small but with a balcony.I can see why some of the review here were not too happy about the balcony because it is sort of like a shared balcony with some nice partition and does have a little bit of privacy concerns if you don't close the blind (I am sure my next door can see me lay on the bed if she wanted hahaha). But if you close the blind all the time, you won't be able to enjoy the view. I would imaging this would be sooo nice to have a small wedding here though!
Bathroom: decent size, I really love the big mirror there, the view outside reflect on the mirror in the bathroom!
Location: 1 min away from this hotel is the Katoomba hiking track!!!
overall suggestion is go for the view and unique stay, this is definitely the one. If you really want some intimacy, might think about the balcony situation see whether that would be an issue. Lilianfels do not have much view but has bigger and more polished room with more privacy.
Definitely will come back later!

Rooms with views across the iconic valley where Echo Point is the main attraction is a pretty amazing location. We loved the scale of the hotel as it is boutique, not huge and sprawling. Our room was impeccable however a little on the small side. When we opened the curtains to a balcony with "That view" we didnt care about the size. Elegantly furnished, very comfortable bed with feather dooma and very good pillows. Bathroom was smallish but with everything you need. All spotless, fresh and relaxing. The servive was excellent and parking is onsite. The only reason I dont rate this a 5* is due to the restaurant. Some of the seating has the spectacular views and the other room where we were was charming and cosy on a cold night. The food at the price however does let them down. We booked online with an indepentent booking site who sent us the wrong menu. We were a little taken aback when we arrived to the $85pp for 2 courses. Not outrageous but at a price that warrants excellence and the food was better than average but not fabulous. The wine list is extensive and expensive. On the positive side the lounge/bar area with log fire is fabulous and the breakfast served in the room with the view and all a la carte due to the Covid situation was excellent again with very good service. So if the food just had a little more sparkle I would give it a 5* We would certainly return.

My partner and I enjoyed magical and relaxing spa treatments through Echoes Boutique Hotel. Our therapists, Eva and Lyn, were so receptive to our needs and the scrub and massages left us feeling like new. I will insist on booking these therapists again next time, though we were assured that all the therapists with the Lilianfels group were as fabulous as the ones we met, which is reassuring. We also had the pleasure to spend a little time at the Spa at Lilianfels just next door, and we left floating on a cloud! We also ate a delicious lunch at Lilianfels restaurant, the risotto with the truffle oil being enjoyed by my partner and I loved the perfectly seasoned cauliflower soup - the restaurant staff were so attentive and we can't wait to visit these locations again soon! Thanks to all the staff!!

We booked a cliff view room and unfortunately the beautiful location with views across the The Jamison Valley was not complimented by luxury accommodation. Judging by our room this hotel is in need of a complete renovation and in no way can they justify the prices being charged. A small bathroom with old fittings and cracks in the bath surface, and no separate shower cubicle is not what we would expect. The bedroom was quite large with a comfortable king bed but not much furniture except for two chairs and a tiny table. There was no preparation area for refreshments and only one power socket in the entire room - we even had to plug in the kettle in the bathroom. Neither was there any provision to charge devices. The narrow balcony did have a sensational view but, inexplicably, the room next door had a table and chairs right next to one of our bedroom windows so that we had to have the blind down at all times. We had a nice meal in the restaurant but paid $80 for a very average chardonnay.

+1
We originally booked for my birthday in October but, due to continuing lockdowns, had to postpone until November. We worked, via email and phone calls, with the hotel to transfer our original room, two dinner and two massage bookings and the hotel team were very helpful.
We had a wonderful Corner View suite with stunning views from two windows and patio doors leading to a small patio overlooking a garden area. Perfect!
The bed was very comfortable with soft linen. The towels and dressing gowns were fine but not quite the ‘super soft’ supplied in some hotels. The toiletries, Appelles, can never be faulted. Unfortunately, the fan in the bathroom didn’t work and the rain shower set in the ceiling wasn’t in the best location.
The room, and furniture, are all perfectly adequate but rather jaded and an odd combination of cupboards and a couple of drawers in the main wardrobe. There is a small fridge but no real ‘mini-bar purchase options’ other than a couple of small bottles of carbonised soft drinks. We didn't check to see whether there were any room service options.
It was lovely to open the patio doors to let in the fresh Mountain air but, unfortunately, there were no fly screens making it a short-lived experience. Our two evenings started with a glass of champagne sitting out on the patio … this is overlooked by guests along this side of the hotel, but, thankfully, guests from the rooms alongside us never appeared so a perfectly private setting each night.
Our first night’s dinner was in Echoes and was a good night (details in a separate restaurant review) and staff were friendly.
Our second dinner was in Darley’s located in the sister hotel, Lilianfels. The staff were very good and the views over the garden are lovely. All dishes from the amuse-bouche to the cheese platter were excellent (details again in a separate restaurant review).
We also had massages in the Lilianfels Day Spa which were wonderful.
The hotel is in an excellent location being a short walk from Echoes Point and several other walking options not far away. The room, if a little older now, was very comfortable and the corner location highly recommended.

Echoes Boutique Hotel does not deliver what it charges. Our room was small with uncomfortable bed, carpet was thread bare near entry to bathroom, air conditioning was noisy & exhaust fan did not clear the mist in bathroom. Although the food was good, what was delivered did not match the written menu. We paid top dollars and only really got the views, the room’s decor was tired, scuffed and not comfortable.

I have waited a while before posting to be even handed with this review. We visited this hotel in July 2022 and had a 2 night booking for a corner suite. We were originally to come in 2021 but covid put pay to that and we rebooked for this year.
The room was an odd shaped, wedged awkwardly into a corner. To start with the highlight, and frankly why you pay the big bucks, is the view which is indisputably awesome.
The room however left a lot to be desired. It is clearly overdue for a refurbishment with a hotchpotch and disparate collection of furniture in black, brown , cream and white and a very tired two seat sofa. The paintwork had the odd chip and dent and needed a refresh. The whole thing felt quite shabby and I think it is a real push to define this as a suite because it has a sofa.
The sofa faced the television but there was no coffee tables / stands on either side so you had to either hold your cup or balance them awkwardly on the sofa arms. This is a fail. The balcony was small and had no privacy, looking directly into next doors room and the separating trellis was broken in one area. The small table and chairs were some form of metal that left rust marks all over the tiling on the ground. the chairs were hard and cold and desperately in need of even simple little cushions. Another fail.
The air-conditioning was appreciated but rattled and clonked all night and looked to need a good cleaning and maybe a service.
The bathroom was small but serviceable, the toilet paper very thin and cheap. A sign of cost cutting. The biggest disappointment lay in the bed. It was overly hard and I barely slept a wink. After discussing it with my husband we decided to check out a day early but as we had already paid no refund was requested nor offered by the reception when we advised them we were leaving. I thought that they may perhaps have in fact offered us another room with a more recently acquired mattress but this did not come up.
We are unable to try the bar or restaurant as they are on the first floor with no lift and as my husband has mobility issues the stairs were not an option.
As this hotel stands today I would not recommend it. The staff were friendly and the view spectacular - when you could see it due to fog - but the rooms are tired and overpriced and you can get a better view from the lookout round the corner for a lot less. My husband and I have travelled a great deal round the world and this room fell well short. Just disappointing.

We stayed for one night in the Cliff View Room last weekend. Including Breakfast for two this cost AUD $927.00. It is hard to know where to start with this review and I have waited a week to think about what to say, but in summary it is a rip off.....The room is small with a tiny balcony that looks into the room next door.
Unfortunately the fog and rain meant that we didn't get the benefit of the view, which appears to be the best feature of this hotel and clearly blinds people to the real value of the property. I am sure the view is stunning BTW.
The bathroom (Room 607) was so small that sitting on the toilet meant that you had a bath on one leg and the vanity cupboard on your opposite shoulder - and i am not overweight!! The shower head leaked with most of the water running outside of the shower. There was nowhere in the shower to put soap or shampoo other than at the back of the bath.
The minibar/tea and coffee offerings were dreadful. I have stayed in far cheaper hotels that provided a Nespresso or similar but here it was freeze dried sachets. Not even a free bottle of water! It was equivalent to a county motel in the 1990s not a resort charging almost $1000 a night. It would be reasonable value at 1/3 of the price.
The poor man on the front desk also managed the restaurant and was back again at breakfast making coffee. A shared plate of fruit was not served with a plate to allow you to share it. The food was good but there was a very limited range (we had lunch there for a friends birthday as well).
What is clear is that the owner/operators are taking advantage of people who are limited in their travel options. The staff were relatively attentive and asked for feedback on our stay which we provided. However on reading reviews on several sites before writing this, it seems the same complaints have been made for several years and clearly ignored.
It is disappointing to think that this is the best we can offer in the Blue Mountains. I will get a whole house through AirBnB for a whole weekend for the price we paid - never again.

Unfortunately one group has a monopoly on the accomodation in the mountains and so they don't need to try with any of their hotels, leave people with few choices for a nice option in the BM. Echoes has a sensational view but after that there isn't much going for it. Dated and poorly designed rooms and basic service and guest experience. Also has terrible acoustic and visual privacy, you could basically join the conversation with other couples in the rooms next door and outside the corridor and people can easily look in to you in your room when on the balcony - completely over priced overall.

I spent two nights in the Wentworth corner suite at the start of our holiday in mid December. The room was gorgeous & spacious with a large bed, sofa, indoor & outdoor seating areas. Good selection of teas & coffees & lovely smelling bathroom amenities. Unfortunately the bush fires created a lot of smoke so we couldn’t fully appreciate the views however the corner suite has views from two angles so we could enjoy the views of the mountains & scenic world to the right. We could also appreciate the beautiful sunsets from the room. We used the indoor & outdoor pools at the sister hotel Lilianfels across the road. There is ample parking. It is a short drive to the restaurants in Katoomba & there is a lot of free parking in the town in the evening. I wouldn’t fancy walking to Katoomba because there is a large hill. The hotel is well located for scenic world & a short walk to the three sisters lookout. I had a gorgeous full english for breakfast & the setting of the restaurant is lovely with great views. Definitely recommend the hotel & would return.

Dear BarbaraCS,
Thank you for your question. We do have room available for wheelchair accessible, however we don't have a room with two separate bedrooms or inter-connecting room at Echoes.
Should you have any further question, please do not hesitate to contact our reservation team.

Hi there. As I recall (also my first visit there) we drove into the town of Katoomba about 10 mins to check out the many eateries.
I am sure the hotel can recommend any nearby convenience stores. It also has a small restaurant on the premises and maybe can arrange sandwiches etc.
I would strongly recommend Google maps which will also indicate nearby dining etc. and very helpful when traveling either walking or driving.
Good luck! It's a beautiful place.
It is possibly a 5 min taxi ride to Echoes. If you are young and fit and happy to walk it is quite hilly and would take you approx. 20min to walk. Personally, I would take the taxi. Arrive comfortable.
