Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed 2 nights in the Spa Suite. It was amazing. It is the best B&B we've stayed at. The owners were so lovely and helpful. It comes with everything you need and more. It is in a fantastic location. We walked to Echo Point both nights. We will definitely stay again. I would highly recommend this B&B for a romantic getaway.

What a find in Katoomba!! Within walking distance to the 3 Sisters this B&B is beautiful as well a perfectly placed. Tastefully decorated, immaculately clean, cosy and oozing with mountain charm!! We stayed in the Amaroo room and we highly recommend it!! Such thoughtful touches from the owners made it even more special. Cannot recommend this place enough!!!

We were greeted by such a friendly lady (and her adorable puppy) and even though we arrived a little early she got our room ready straight away. Was a lovely room, made more cozy by the fireplace, lounge and spa bath. Didn’t expect to have some amazing extras like fresh milk & juice, cookies, chocolates and even some brandy. Can’t wait to stay again, was a lovely stay!

We stayed in a spa suite for four nights and had a wonderful experience. Our suite had everything you could need and came with lots of thoughtful extras such as afternoon cakes, evening port and even bath salts for the spa bath. We were offered a choice of delicious breakfasts, which were served in our lounge - a very nice touch. The location is perfect - an easy stroll to town as well as Echo Point, Scenic World and lots of hiking trails. Paul and Jenny were wonderful hosts, and obviously take pride in their offering. Outstanding value. We look forward to staying here again on our next trip to the mountains. Andy & David

Hubby and I enjoyed one night of peace and solitude wrapped up in the foggy blanket of Katoomba at Shelton Lea. We decidedly glad we chose to stay here, as on our second day (and sadly our departure day) the fog lifted and the sun shone. Perfect stay at Shelton Lea. Warm welcome from Jenny. Cosy. Comfy bed and pillows. Gorgeous hot shower. Peaceful. Solitude. Breakfast was fabulous. Great location. Close to Echo Point, walkable if needed. We have stayed at many bed & breakfasts and very much enjoyed our stay here. Could not fault.

I highly recommend this B&B. The best thing about it is the friendly hospitality of Paul and Jenny who go out of their way to ensure you're having a good stay including a very tasty home cooked breakfast. The room was very nicely equiped and super clean. The location is also very good around the corner from The Three Sisters and close to Katoomba shops.

This is a lovely B and B and we highly recommend it. We stayed in the suite, which we found very clean, comfortable and cosy. Paul and Jenny are wonderful hosts and provide lots of “extras” - such as a little decanter of port, a cute little kitchenette with kettle, fridge and microwave. Paul even “went the extra mile” (literally) and gave us a lift to and from the station, which was much appreciated. Breakfast is home cooked and delicious. You can easily walk to Echo Point and Scenic World and all the National Parks walks from the B and B, as well as the town for pubs, bakeries and other shops, so the location, although quiet (which we loved) is very convenient. We hope to come to this beautiful area again one day and would definitely choose Sheldon Lea as our accommodation.

This is such a lovely place to stay. A lovely, old fashioned b&b walking distance from the sights and also the centre of town. There was home made jam, artisan soap (I didn't even know that existed) and great rooms.

We felt very comfortable staying here, Paul and Jenny were very helpful with advice on visiting Scenic World, we walked from the property which was great to leave the car for once. We ate at Pins on Lurline and Echoes Hotel, both were close and beautiful. Our room was more like a cottage , very comfy , good Wi-fi and lovely continental breakfast left each day.
