Upon arrival we were only shown our room and facilities, we were not even introduced or told of any history of the building. Our first impression was 'extremely' outdated, not well looked after and a urine smell was present. The gardens and lawns were over grown beyond words and a slimy/ wet entrance made it difficult to reach the front...

Old building filled with old trinkets and curiosities that my wife and I found very interesting. You must see all the rooms including the attic. Unfortunately the service was almost non-existent, at least when we first arrived. There was no-one to greet us at the door (another guest tried to explain what was happening) or respond to our phone calls...

I was attracted by the hope of living temporarily in a museum, and was prepared to overlook the adverse reviews. I was getting a bad feeling long before arriving, when I tried TEN TIMES to phone and arrange luggage holding. Nobody answered the phone in 2 weeks of phone calls, nobody answered my emails. I arrived in person anyway to...

Unfortunately I booked this place based on the Trip Advisor rating without reading the reviews. Big mistake. Some people may like the novelty value but we found it creepy- prams full of old dolls, fake suits of armour, weird vintage sex books. Might have enjoyed it more in winter but in summer it was boiling hot, full of cobwebs and...

This house is the dirtiest, most disgusting place I have ever looked at. The room we booked was not ready - no help available - at 4pm and still not after 6pm! The owner proceeded to tell us that he was very ill and couldn't do it himself.....every room was unclean and appeared not to have been touched for months...

Trip down memory lane with all the collectables in the house. You will need to be open minded to have the full experience with what this incredible Bed & Breakfast can offer. Arriving we were skeptical & gave us the feeling the house was abandoned, few gargoyles, maybe haunted. It's old, very old & neglected from outside. Arriving I was...

Quirky and interesting. Bit run down in parts in typical Katoomba fashion. Really nice breakfast. Met other interesting guests from Russia. Plenty of choices of things to read and look at. Off street parking. Host Graham was very helpful to us. Offered to take us to the station; knows the good places to eat.

I pre-booked 6 nights, room was never cleaned, no fresh towels or sheets, huge dusty/dirty areas in the room, peeling wallpaper. Breakfast was great when there was someone to make it but one morning no-one turned up so had to raid a fridge with only bread and cereals. It's 4 star pricing with 1 star pricing. Admittedly the owner is...

Fantastic place to stay for a time trip to the early 1900 period. The whole place is decorated with furniture, decor and music from that time. A very unique homey and warm experience to enjoy. The host Paula is very nice and easy going. She makes a fantastic poached egg and bacon breakfast and gives good dining advice in the...

Quirky. Definitely interesting on many levels. But so sadly run down. Yes, it's filled with yesteryear's little treasures, but to the point that it just appears cluttered to the point where I suspect (with plenty of anecdotal evidence) that proper cleaning becomes impossible. The garden is so overgrown we thought we were in the wrong place on arrival. My wife...
