Found the facilities advertised not really match the reality. Inside the room there is no wifi, no tissue box, no shower curtain, dirty fridge, kettle handle was sticky that need to clean before use, dirty carpet, bed linens with stains, pillows case and bedsheets were fine, blankets seems dusty and dirty that I didn’t use them, no internal phone to the reception, only 2 plastic clothes hanger, non-stop traffic noise as windows and door have no sound insulation in place at all. Sorry I won’t come back.

It is difficult to know where to start with this place but here goes. It is without doubt the noisiest accommodation I have ever stayed in so if actual sleep is important to you avoid this place. The rooms are situated 10 metres from the Great Western Highway so the lorries hurtling past your front door every few minutes sound as if they are in the bedroom with you. Not to be outdone there are trains passing by the back window all night and less frequently but no less spectacularly are the aircraft flying immediately overhead. I promise this is not an exaggeration. It is 06.30 and I have not slept a wink. It hardly seems worth describing the room because anyone with an ounce of sense wont come anywhere near the place. Just a few of the other lowlights however. There is no wifi either free or otherwise. The antiquated room heater competes with the lorries for noise volume and the decor is tired and drab. Dont say you werent warned.

I stayed here with my husband and two daughters (aged 12 and 1) in March for two nights. The carpark was a little frustrating to get into as its parallel parking in a tight squeeze. The motel is 10 metres from the Great Western Highway and right next to the train station so its very loud 98% of the time. I reserved by booking online and didn't realise you had to complete the transaction through the computerised customer service machine and had to call the manager (who was not on-site) to come down and complete my transaction and issue my keys (which would usually drop from the machine). The room was outdated but neat, very cold on entering and the heater (which was apparently competing with the noise outside) took a while to heat the room. The amenities were good but the toaster was rusty looking. The bathroom was scary and a bit dirty looking (definitely behind the toilet) was freezing and unwelcoming with no vanity. You have to wash hands, brush teeth etc in the kitchette area. The rooms are serviced once a day and are clean. No hand towels though. Not family friendly, definitely not toddler friendly as there are viewable plugs and cords everywhere. Not worth the $130 a night we paid. No customer service. No warmth.

We made a reservation through Agoda. Reservation was easy and credit card was immediately charged 2 Room Aus$320 in total. Booking ID 887185349. The reservation was confirmed. Check in Feb 11 check out Feb 12. Then when we arrived at the hotel on a Saturday the reception was closed and details for check in was written at the door. We then tried for perhaps 1 hour to check in. We called the number given on the door. We called several times. Every time the call was simply disconnected. the person on the other side picked up the phone and simply hang up again. We tried what ever possible and where not able to check in. As a result we where forced to look for another room after 6 pm in Katooba, which took another two hours as most hotels where fully booked. A few days later I received a e-mail from the Blue Mountain resort asking us to return the keys. I immediately replayed and explained our experience. At the same time we ask for a refund. Never received an answer. We also tried to contact Agoda many time for assistance. Unfortunately it was not possible

DO NOT BOOK a family room here! Arrived in the pouring rain to a room that was meant to have double bed and 2 singles for a family of 4 and ended up with a tiny little box of a room with one double bed. When reception was contacted they blamed it on the booking agent AGODA! Kids had to sleep on blankets on the floor! Waste of money!

Would not post at my cost a couple of items I left behind. Room had the most smelly air "freshener" that nearly caused asthma - I took it out of the room. No soap to wash your hands after going to the bathroom. The staff I encountered in person were friendly, so there's that.

Everything was good, better yet if the price is considered, but the room (22) smelled like pee and that is unacceptable.

The room seems cleaner in the pictures they post.

Staff was very attentive, the highway noise is loud, but it’s a highway motel so, no complaint on that.

The motel location is along the highway just at the entrance towards the town. The motel is 2 storey, they gave us a free upgrade for 1 of the room which is nice. The wifi is not very stable as it connect and disconnected quite often. The room overall is OK and bed is comfy, toilet is a bit small though.

Omg
This place is truely awful.
The Rooms are tired and fairly original but don’t normally mind if it’s cheap and cheerful - this is not.
Noise is big issue - trucks don’t stop all night but again I can deal with that.
What I cannot deal with is a seemingly deserted hotel that may be right on the highway but feels deserted and footsteps outside the room on and off all night.
Can’t even provide a review of the staff as they have a really hard to use self check in - maybe they are hiding 😆
Hotel was $125 per night so wasn’t expecting too much but you couldn’t even pay me to stay here again.

Check in experience-
There was no-one around for check in. The vending style machine for the room keys was broken. I phoned a number found on the reception door and was notified that my room key was in the flower pot!

Location-
It was on the explorer bus route, however, the bus did not stop for us as it was driving past on the inside lane of the motorway and couldn't move over to get to the bus stop. We walked to/from katoomba station. The buses stop running at approx 5pm and it's a 20min trek along the motorway and down a back street. Felt like the middle of nowhere. As a single female traveller (with a toddler) I did not feel safe. The motorway traffic continued all night, but this didn't bother me so much.

Room-
Basic, but ok for an overnight visit. It didn't seem like many people stay here so the room looked like it had been cleaned about a month ago and left to collect dust. The top sheet on the bed was dusty. Carpets weren't brilliant (I kept my shoes on). Very dated, but everything worked. Shower was surprisingly powerful, despite flooding the floor due to a broken door. Tea and coffee making facilities were a godsend.
The door locked, but felt like if someone pushed hard it would cave in. Again, didn't feel safe all night.

Check out-
Receipt invoice was pushed under the door, didn't come in contact with a person. When my bank statement came through I was charged twice (the second was far more than original invoice) but this was quickly resolved and refunded through my booking company.

Conclusion-
Ok for a desperate 'need to lay my head', but you'd probably be better at the youth hostel in Central katoomba. NOT suitable for families with young children or solo female travellers. My advice- pay a little extra and stay in katoomba town or leura.
