We stumbled upon this bed and breakfast on a road trip to the Blue Mountains a while back. We had the most amazing stay that we still talk about to this day. It was like staying with family. The breakfast was delicious and the little touches around the house really added a feeling of home. I could not recommend Melba House enough.

We stayed in Same Edna room. Very comfortable and a nice room to relax in after a day out in the Blue Mountains. Really enjoyable breakfasts. Sue provided us with lots of info on what to do and what to see

We stayed at Melba House B&B over the weekend in September 2017. I cannot thank Sue enough for her kind hospitality! She went above and beyond what was expected. On arrival, she had baked a chocolate cake and continued to make us breakfast for the 2 mornings we stayed. Her baked eggs were delicious! We would recommend Melba house to everyone that is looking for a relaxing getaway. Thank you Sue and Issy for your hospitality. The beds were amazingly comfortable, we had the best sleep. We will be back soon

My partner and I stayed here for the weekend in the Blue Mountains. This is a fantastic bed and breakfast in Katoomba. The suite was beautifully decorated and comfortable. It is great to have breakfast served in the suite and not have to worry about getting dressed to have breakfast. There are nice touches like cookies and cake available for guests. The location was located in a quiet street and a short drive to local attractions. Sue was a great host and prepared excellent breakfast every morning. I would definitely recommend this as first choice B and B in the Blue Mountains.

We had a wonderful time staying at Melba House. Sue the hostess was very hospitable. She made delicious cakes and slices ever day. Sue gave us recommendations for dinner and a voucher for one of the places we had dinner at. We were impressed by all of her recommendations. We stayed in the 'Dame Nellie' room. It had a fire, spa bath and was beautifully decorated. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. It was also very close to everything. The next time we visit Katoomba we will be definitely staying at Melba House.

Melba House is wonderful for a quiet, private weekend or longer stay (we were there for 5 days). Sue is a terrific host - nothing is too much trouble and she is a repository of wisdom on what to do, where to eat, etc. Breakfasts are seriously dangerous but delicious calorie traps. Melba House is close to amenities, spotless, comfortable, with all of the comforts listed in good order. Highly recommended.

As many have said Sue is a warm, welcoming host with great recommendations for where to eat and visit. We booked relatively late and were lucky to get a room. The heating was on when we arrived so the room was very cosy, Fresh brownies "gluten free" as per my dietary issues were delicious as were the breakfasts. We stayed in the smallest room (yes, because we booked late) and if there is any criticism it is that there is no common living space as many B&Bs have so you can sit around a fire etc. The bathroom for this room is pretty tight too (no bubble bath in this one). The port and cookies in the room were a lovely touch, though the wine and port glasses weren't replaced after the first night.

My partner Michael and I stayed in the Dame Nellie Suite for 2 nights and got the indulgence package for my 30th birthday and our 5 year anniversary. Sue was a very lovely and considerate host and made fantastic recommendations for things to do in the area, including a visit to Dry Ridge Estate in Megalong Valley. The room was beautiful and cozy with a fire place and the port, sparkling wine, chocolates and cake are all special touches that make the place great. So sad to hear of Sue's plans to sell, we would love to come back again one day.

We had a really nice time here. We were met by Sue who was very welcoming and took us round our room. The room we stayed in (deluxe) was very cosy and full of charm - perfect for the cold break in the mountains. There was lots of thought out little extra's including wifi, dvd's, port and cake. Breakfast was good with lots of options. The dog is beautiful and really friendly. We look forward to staying again and maybe getting the spa room next time!
