The property is nicely located next to the Lake Jindabyne..and a short drive to the main town over the Jindabyne Dam.
The room we got was nice and clean, small but big enough for 3 of us to sleep after the tiring walks in the snowys.. the restaurant attached has its own menu and were pleasantly surprised to find Thai Green Curry on the menu which turned out to be good for the bar styled restaurant. Ask for daily specials.. we had chicken pasta and deep fried zucchini flowers from the specials and were happy when we walked out after the dinner. Their specialty is stone grilled meat.. we did not try that but saw a few people having it and it looked fun. The staff was approachable and helpful. The breakfast was also included in our booking.. it was basic..bread jam, butter, baked beans, bacon, sausage couple of juices, coffee and tea.. nothing fancy but good and warm..
Watch out for the owner/manager’s dogs... you can stop smiling when they approach you with furiously wagging their tails...
Overall it was a good experience...

The only not good thing I found was
The room was clean but there was a scope of improvement and by sheer luck we got room next to kitchen so it was a bit noisy during dinner..

UNDER NEW MANAGMENT. Lee told us he had taken over the management of the hotel very recently. He is laid back and accommodating. This hotel is right on Lake Jindabyne. You can cast a fishing rod off the bank or drive around to the boat ramp and take the boat out for a day of fishing. We even beached the tinny up the bank when we wanted a break and walked up to our room, went in and made a coffee, while watching the boat from our balcony. Too good! This hotel has that old school charm. Lee told us he has a bit of work to do to modernise the premises but this was not a problem for us as we are easy going and we appreciated the local hospitality and quaintness of the hotel. We will be returning here in future.

Came back after 3years. The owner's changed. I was wondering. Not disappointed at all. The lakeside view is priceless. Did have room 401 looking out to the terrace and I can imagine that it might not be as pleasant with more people hanging out at the terrace unless you don't care too much about privacy. I was surprised with the renovated bathroom. Very nice. Best was that it had a proper hairdryer in the drawer and facewashers. All the basics were there. Kettle coffee, bar fridge... The rest is a bit outdated but clean and hey! You get what you pay for. I was very happy and will be back. Yes best to take your car. It is out of town and peaceful. Don't know for how long...house buildings going on everywhere... stone grill fillet is a must. Could improve with a good side dish. Only comes with a very small portion of veggies. Would I go back? Its a clear yes from me

My husband and I stayed in one of the deluxe spa rooms. It was our honeymoon and we absolutely loved staying at Siesta Villa. The room was beautiful. I especially loved the spa and the portrait of the running brumbies above our very comfortable king bed. The daily service to our room was greatly appreciated and we loved that they always gave us new fresh towels. We used that spa every day. The price was affordable and worthy of the room. The view we had was exquisite, the lake and mountains was breathtaking.
As vegans we were unable to eat from the restaurant, but the menu looked lovely. We will definitely return in the future and tell family and friends to do themselves a favour and stay at least once in their lives.

The location was good to hike the tracks on the east side of the lake. The views were photographic. The staff were kind & helpful. The menu was limited and expensive. Thirty five dollars to cook your own raw protein on a stone slab & need a magnifying glass for the vegetables, (the meal was not explained before ordering. Fish & chips with salad, (the salad was about five green leaves). Pumpkin soup was green with pieces of pumpkin. There was no shuttle into town as stated on the website. It rarely snows there so why the misleading photograph on the website. When the drunks rumble in the pool room or dinning room & push or shove or loud voice can be heard from our room which is more disturbing. The bed was full of grit and very uncomfortable. The hot breakfast each day was always the same. Cold dry bacon, fried rice, hash brown, sausage and vegetable/ egg mix.
Fortunately a club in Jindabyne sent a messenger to tell us about their shuttle service.

We book 3 months in advance got there and the owner had booked both of our rooms out and told us he couldn’t refund our money and then tried to put us all in one room! Had the bar tender put bunk beds together for us. Twice these rooms had people in them already. the owner has no idea how to run a business or a hotel for that matter he yells at his staff when they are clearly under staffed, I was totally embarrassed walking through there last year those poor boys at the bar. We spent hundreds on food and alcohol half of our food came out cold the only thing we enjoyed were our drinks Until the blonde guy in the bar told us that he keeps the wine bottles that other people use and makes the staff re use them for other people. I wouldn’t stay here even if you paid me too.

We stayed for 8 nights, and less than impressed is the nicest way to put it. The only positive things I can say is the beds were comfortable and the outlook onto the lake was nice. Certainly not worth $350 per night!!
The breakfast would be good if it was actually hot, even getting there upon opening at 6:30am the bacon was cold, eggs were generally only half cooked and sausages often reheated from the previous day.
New manager made guests feel like an inconvenience for just being there, he is not a people person at all, the upside of this was the entertainment of what he might do next in the breakfast room, from running into guests without apology, throwing his hands in the air and swearing because he had to clear the tables after guests had finished their breakfasts, standing around with his hands down his pants, then briefly disappearing to the kitchen and returning with clean plates and we just hoped he’d washed his hands but not sure he’d actually been gone long enough to have had time.
We were not provided with fresh linen and even when we asked for clean towels, we were not given a full set only bath towels.
They did come into the room each day weather we liked it or not as there was no sign we could hang on the door, (although towards the end of our trip I did notice that some rooms had these so it must be pot luck) from what I could tell they changed the bins most days and sometimes restocked the room with toilet paper, tea bags etc but we frequently had to go and ask for these things much to the dismay of staff.
In summary, the place has potential, but overall it was very disappointing and overpriced.

We travelled from Sydney and made a reservation for dinner at restaurant. We all were tired and hungry ,specially kids. When we arrived at 7.40pm we were asked to wait to be seated by reception person ,so we did sat and wait literally in front of him.after waiting for 35 minutes as kids were getting restless I asked the the person how long will be the wait.He tried to avoid eye contact and told me it will be 5 to 10 minutes. So we waited for another 20 minutes and he continued to ignore us.So my wife went and ask him if we can atleast do take away as we all are very tired and hungry. He looked at us and told us that the kitchen is now closed and he did not know we were waiting!!!

We were shocked, I thought he was joking. When told him that we spoke to him twice and were waiting just in front of him ,he said some how he forgot.

We all were upset and angry,we had to drive to Jindabyne town and likely Chinese restaurant was open and they agreed to do a take away as it was close to 9.30pm then.

It was a horrible experience and nobody is accountable to what happened.

A couple of nights ago, while on a skiing holiday, our family was treated to an amazing gastronomic experience of fresh local ocean trout de-boned at our table and the most succulent tender steak grilled on the stone-grill (also at our table) in the restaurant. Not only was the the food top class with a view over Lake Jindabyne, but the maitre d was bubbly and attentive and chef took time to come out and chat with us about our meal. Will definitely be returning!

Made a reservation, specifically asked to use the vouchers, gave the details only to be called by the owner a week before the stay that the voucher would not be accepted. After I explained that I sent the details weeks earlier, he said he would look into it. The owner called a day prior to the stay and started being rude and blamed me for not following up after the reservation, and that the voucher could not be used because he did not scan it before the expiry date. He kept blaming his own booking system and would not allow the booking without me having to pay for the vouchers he failed to scan. Incompatible! Poor booking system.
I eventually found a better place to stay and not have to deal with this rude owner.
