A very dated motel right on a busy highway with logging trucks going past at all times of day. Sleep was elusive due to that traffic and the noise coming from a very old bar fridge that was lacking shelves to put things on.
The bed felt like a hessian bag full of straw, very uncomfortable.
Staff were pleasant but there were no reassurances regarding COVID with the person checking us in wearing her mask under her nose.
This hotel could be quite comfortable if they did something for noise reduction and updated the furnishing and appliances,
The price per night did not reflect the standard of accommodation. The only reason I chose this motel was because it was the only one in Glen Innes offering free cancellation and as my situation was 'iffy' I needed that security.

A classic country motel, brick walls and a long shelf to put everything on, we chose the Glen Innes Lodge for a one-night stopover principally because it was advertised as dog friendly, which proved to be true. It’s fairly basic but clean and equipped with all the usual motel amenities, including a microwave. The only downside is all the rooms face the New England Highway, as do many of the other motels in the town, so it tended to be noisy at night. It’s about 20 minutes’ walk into the main shopping and cafe centre of Grey Street, but the route is either along the highway or through uninspiring back streets, so we drove into town and walked Harry beside the Rocky Ponds Creek in Anzac Park. It’s a pleasant enough park and there’s a small off-leash area at the northern end beyond the toilet at Ferguson Street.

It is a great family run motel. It is neat, clean and tidy. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. A continental breakfast was provided and it was a great way to start gthe day. Cannot fault the stay.
