I have stay here on multiple occasions but have found a better place. Rooms are satisfactory. Noise from traffic; some rooms have poor internet service; rooms are clean and tidy; leaving the vacancy sign out front when no rooms are vacant is not a practice I encourage.

Glen Haven Motor Inn has to be one of the best value motels.
Our room was spacious, clean, with comfortable Queen bed and equipped with a TV, Fridge, Microwave, Toaster and Kettle.
There is also a free BBQ on site to use and free Wi-Fi.

The new manager who has only taken over a few months ago was very helpful on local information and sites.
The motel is only a few minutes drive into the centre of town.
All the rooms have under cover parking in front of your accommodation.
The only fault is that it is along the main highway and a there is some traffic noise.

New owner, refurbished rooms, new appliances remodelled bathroom. Breakfast included in price, very friendly and helpful owner. Value exceeded my expectation. Very good value for money $79.
Offered a welcome chocolate on arrival. Detailed info on what to do in area, map supplied and marked. Owner went out of his way to make us welcome.

The photos of this motel are obviously very old. The motel has also changed its name to Glen Innes Lodge Motel.
Huge dog barks at you behind a fence with a beware of dog sign as soon as you pull up.
Vinyl floors, good for pets. The one armchair had obviously been a scratch post for cat.
Very, very basic accommodation as expected from the price.
Old innerspring mattress had seen better days.
No shampoo or conditioner. But the shower was great. Additional toilet roll over the hand basin was a unique feature.

Unaware of the Celtic Festival being on, every Motel was booked out.
We drove around to every motel, all had"no vacancy"signs up

Looking for a room only for the night we actually came upon the above.

Yes, they did have one room available at $300 for the night!!!!! Was this exploitation of a situation? Yes, it was a family room we were told (What family would pay $300 for a mediocre room that didn't even have a wardrobe Finally got the price down to $170..... Had no option.
Funnily, we met 2 ladies in a restaurant later who had been quoted $400 for the same room!!
Oh... For $170 we did get 5 slices of bread for toast with Vegemite and jam...whoopee!

Many thanks John for your review and we are pleased that you noted the room has new carpet. We charged only $170.00 for a night for a 2 Bed Room Unit with 6 sleep positions though there was no room in town due to festival. This is our family room for large families with 5 or 6 persons and $170.00 is the our standard tariff for this unit. All our room are rooms are equipped with Reverse cycle air-conditioner, LCD TV, Fridge, Kettle, Toaster and Microwave. There is a wardrobe in every room. We provide FREE light breakfast to every room. Please see our website for more information. Regards Team at Glen Haven Motor Inn

I arrived at the Glen Haven Motor Inn for work approximately 11am after my boss made a booking via the internet the previous day.
I was exhausted after working late the night before so I was keen to check in, put my luggage in the room and make sure it was fully paid.
After I had fallen asleep for a while I noticed a lot of blowflies in my room so asked the husband of the (husband & wife team) for some fly spray.
I was advised there was some in the room. Granted there was and I had just overlooked it in the cupboard.
I sprayed the room constantly for the rest of the afternoon.
By late afternoon, early evening I had enough of the flies/blowies in my room.
I went to the bathroom to wash my face and noticed a fly and maggots on the vanity unit.
I immediately called my boss to advise her that I could not stay there the night due to this disgusting find.
She told me to pack my car then go to the office with her on speaker phone to advise them I would be leaving and would like a refund of some sort.
What happened next was extremely shocking. The male manager demanded to come to my room to see the proof.
I had no problem with this.
He became increasing aggressive. I happened to still be on the phone to my employer. To cut a long story short, I was assaulted by the manager. He grabbed me by my wrist and threw one backwards onto the floor.
(His story was, I tripped and fell)
This was heard over the phone by my employer who then called the police.
I have to say that I am so completely shocked at the treatment I received whilst staying here and would highly recommend that you do not book a holiday here.
I do have photos to back my claim and this is not merely here-say.

It is always unfortunate to receive a negative feedback however we have not had anyone by the name of Tamarah stay at our Motel in recent times. I can only assume that this complaint refers to another guest who did complain about a fly and alleged maggots on the vanity. From the numerous times this guest entered and left her room during the day of her stay it was impossible for some insects not to enter the motel room. Fortunately our guests are supplied with the necessary aerosol spray in the room to take care of such occurrences should they occur. Our rooms are cleaned every morning starting by 10am or on guest departure. Whilst our check in time is 2:00pm we allowed this guest into the room just after 10:00am as the room was vacated earlier that morning. We categorically deny that there was any incidence of maggots in the unit as well as the fact of the claim that the manager assaulted this guest. These two incidences did not occur. After being called to the unit by the guest, the manager entered the room and the guest walked backwards whilst talking on her mobile phone and tripped over as she was not watching where she was going. We are not sure why the Police were called by this guest but after they spoke with her she was administered a breath test and removed from the premises not being allowed to drive her car away. As a courtesy we refunded her the full fee.

Awesome shower, rooms were very clean, all beds had electric blankets- including the 2 single beds, free light breakfast included (toast and toppings). Not much noise from the main road, we only heard one truck all night

Arrived after spending the day at the snow hoping for a warm place, only to be disappointed! The reverse cycle air conditioner even though set on 30 degrees didn't warm the room very well, kept turning itself off. The hot water in the shower took a very long time to come threw but when it did was lovely and hot. Ask on arrival about the free breakfast which we had believed was continental and assumed included cereal was in fact home brand bread, butter and the exact number of jam satchels for number of people in the room and was told it would be delivered to our room tonight. Feel a little unsure if this would occur as we were going out for dinner we decided to buy some cereal and milk at Coles just in case. As promised the breakfast pack was delivered, along with plates and butter knives, thank goodness, as we discovered when returning back to the room that there were no bowls or cutlery supplied in the room other then coffee making facilities. This is the only motel that we have ever stayed at that didn't have plates, bowls and full cutlery in the room, I am sure that we may have been able to ask at reception but it was closed by the time we discovered this. In the morning when packing up, checking under the beds for items like we usually do, we discovered tiny teddies biscuits on the floor under the beds, which were not ours, hence was missed by house keeping. Overall this is a very basic overnight stay, which we wouldn't choose again, but if we had not choice then hope it was summer and take picnic gear too!

We arrived late at night during a blackout. Reception was very welcoming with every attempt to make us at ease and ensure we had lighting. A clean Family unit , dated but acceptable and it was possible to sleep up to 7 in the 2 rooms. The price was a little higher compared to others in town but we did not bargain. Manager was very friendly and "talkative" We would stay again.

Located within easy walking distance of the main street in Glenn Innes, the Glen Haven Motor Inn was well above average. Rooms were very clean and fully equipped from tea and biscuits to comfortable chairs. Plenty of space to spread out. Outside the rooms there is undercover parking which was great in the heat of February! Every room has a wooden seat and table outside for enjoying a relaxing drink at the end of a day on the road.

Trish the owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I picked up a walking tour of the historic buildings in Glen Innes from the display in reception and it turned out to be a real pleasure to explore. The Bowls Club at Inverell turned out to do wonderful Sunday roasts with plates piled high for $15!
