Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The photos of this motel are obviously very old. The motel has also changed its name to Glen Innes Lodge Motel. Huge dog barks at you behind a fence with a beware of dog sign as soon as you pull up. Vinyl floors, good for pets. The one armchair had obviously been a scratch post for cat. Very, very basic accommodation as expected from the price. Old innerspring mattress had seen better days. No shampoo or conditioner. But the shower was great. Additional toilet roll over the hand basin was a unique feature.

I have stay here on multiple occasions but have found a better place. Rooms are satisfactory. Noise from traffic; some rooms have poor internet service; rooms are clean and tidy; leaving the vacancy sign out front when no rooms are vacant is not a practice I encourage.

Stayed here for work for 1 night, although the room is dated it was clean and the showers were good,I had a minor problem as there were not any cups in the room to make coffee in the morning, reception was very apologetic. There was a fair bit of road noise as its on the highway.

When we arrived the “full sign” was up and I know why. We had a warm welcome from the Proprietor who was there to help. Our room was clean and comfortable, not long after unloading luggage he arrived with bread, butter and jams for us to toast for breakfast, (toaster and microwave in rooms) so generous. We settled in with plenty hot water for showers and electric blankets on beds as well as Airconditioning. Watching TV and the Proprietor arrived with Magnum Ice Creams for all of us, making sure everything was comfortable. The children were delighted, we all were. It’s not an upmarket Motel but an honest, older style motel, clean with absolutely wonderful hospitality, and parking at the front of unit. This is our 3rd stay here, we just keep coming back for good prices and hospitality.

Travelling interstate, we decide to try the Glen Haven Motel. Situated right on the highway makes it super convenient but you do get a little road noise. Rates are very reasonable, although a 70's style motel, rooms are functional and have everything you need and you get toast in the morning as part of the room rate. All in all a very reasonably priced and conveniently located motel for an overnight stay.

As expected, the rooms are old and haven't been updated for many years, but clean. The shower had a good strong flow of water and the beds, although saggy, were comfortable enough. The problem was the fact that reception is never manned, even during office hours. This meant ringing the bell and waiting for any quick query and also when booking in. The biggest issue was that the the owner/manager's dog woke us by barking loudly in the morning. If we book a motel which doesn't allow pets, then we expect it to be dog-free. The air-con was very good and nice and quiet. The wi-fi worked for one day, but not the other. The pipes from the room next door sound like a jet preparing for takeoff and woke us on the morning that the dog didn't. (Don't know why they put people in rooms directly next door to each other when the motel is basically empty.) The bread and spreads included in the price were fine, but maybe offer a choice other than white bread? (And yes, we know this is a "budget" motel and shouldn't expect more.)

Stayed overnight and I was a bit taken back by the dated decor but it was comfy and suited the purpose of an overnight stop. The buffet in food breakfast of 2 slices of bread and accompanying spreads really was something to die for....... Be careful of the toaster, even on the lowest setting it managed to cremate the bread and set off the smoke detector!

For the cost it’s a very economical place to stay. As a family of five, we booked the family room and given we stayed in the other family room the previous time we passed through, there are a few subtle difference between the two. The breakfast of toast and vegemite/jams (dropped in the night before) was fine and allows people not to have to fend for yourself in the morning before getting back on the road. Air con and electric blankets were useful as it got down to 4 deg the night before My biggest gripe is that it seems to be accepting of smokers puffing away on the chairs directly outside their room (and adjacent to everyone else’s). Happened both times with say close to half the rooms chain smoking outside. I guess if you are a smoker, this is your place, if not well you’ll need some tollerance for it. I’ll probably stay somewhere else next time on account of the smoke wafting around.

This was a spur of the moment decision to stay overnight in GI. we called last minute and ended up in a family room as that was all they had available. Room was a good size, very dated, lots of brickwork. Bed very soft , shower water was very hot. When i got into bed there were bits of something on the sheet, almost as if someone had been in the bed with their shoes on. It advertises breakfast with your room which we never got (maybe it had to be ordered..not sure.. as we were not asked by the receptionist) Our room had the usual appliances and an air conditioner for which we were grateful. It was reasonable cost for the room $99 for the night.

I booked into the Glen Haven Motor Inn, without any idea what it was like, no time for a review (Easter weekend). Received a courtesy call from reception confirming my arrival time. I arrived and proceeded to check in, nice friendly greeting. Advised that the room came with a complementary small breakfast (toast, jams, butter), which was an unexpected surprise. The rooms were very clean and tidy, the shower was hot and the bed was comfy. I had a good night sleep and had my toast and vegemite the next morning and headed off down the highway.
