Stayd overnight on our way from a family holiday to the Gold Coast back to Lake Macquarie I bit of a scenic but long drive across the mountains from Grafton. Much slower than the Pacific Hwy but an alternative change from the busy coastal road.
I made the booking as we had never visited the town before, only driven through
A big selling point was the Steakhouse attached to the motel with pretty good reviews
The 2 bedroom family room was at the back of the motel opposite the pool (which was closed but not exactly swimming weather this far west anyway)
This meant we were away from the road noise out the front (the main highway passes by the front) The room/ unit was a little musty when we opened it up and a little dated but very well kept and in good condition. (I have to admit we were comparing it to our stay in more expensive and modern locations. So keep that in mind as it's a small country town so it would be expected to be cheaper and maybe not as modern.
The steakhouse was nice and is obviousley popular with the locals but in our opinion it didn't live up to the online reviews. The food was ok but not at the high price which was similar to what you would pay in a big city for a much better meal.
The sunset and sunrise was beautiful from our front window
Overall it was a place we had not visited before but given our home location we would not use the NEH in future for our trips to Qld as it was a much longer drive home the next day. For interest, 10 hours from Glen Innes to Morisset plus the 5 hours from Gold Coast to Glenn Innes the day before compared to around 9 hours from Morisset to Gold Coast.
Many years ago the NEH and Pac hwy's were similar in time from Sydney to Qld and I preferred that trip with higher speed and fewer towns to the crowded towns you had to drive through but these days the PH with all the motorways and bypasses is so much easier and quicker to travel.

Our 2-bedroom family unit provided a spacious, comfortable base for our overnight stay in Glen Innes. The master bedroom had a couch and coffee table. Each bedroom had a television. The fridge was a generous size, and in its own room with a well-sized table that made food preparation easy (can be a challenge in rooms with limited space!). A microwave, kettle and some cutlery and crockery were supplied. Bathroom was spacious. Located at the back of the complex made for a quiet night's sleep, away from traffic noise. Some of the fixtures and fittings were a bit dated but still very serviceable. Beds were fitted with electric blankets. Convenient location - we walked down to 'Fossicker's Rest' to fossick in the morning, and had time to come back to our room to change before checking out. Would have loved a separate sink from the bathroom to wash dishes in. Was a bit pricey but we were willing to pay more for the quiet location and ability to cancel the day before if needed. Would stay again.

We booked one of the back rooms to stay away from the highway noise and it was quiet in that respect. However, there was a large group of motorcyclists along from us who were noisily talking in the evening and again in the morning but were quiet overnight. The room was fairly basic. There were a couple of annoying features, such as the door safety chain getting in the way of shutting the door. The fridge was miniscule – almost had to kneel down to put things in it, but it was very cold. One side of the bed was very close to the wall but with a built-in bedhead so couldn't be moved. The compendium said the wifi code was available from office so I went to office and was told (quite curtly) it was on wall. Shouldn't have bothered asking – pitifully slow/non-existent wifi. The basin had very little room on the side to place things.

A simple but well equipped motel in Glen Innes. The room was a good size and it did have electric blankets - much needed in chilly Glen Innes. A 10 minute walk into town. The Motel has a steakhouse attached which was very convenient for a good meal on our 1st night. A 10 minute walk another night took us to a local services club where another easy meal was enjoyed. The motel did have a laundry - everything free. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Apart from the rooms having been painted in depressing prison cell grey, they have not been updated for many years. No breakfast available and no information about breakfast offered. Had to go to grocery store at 7am to find something to eat for breakfast. This used to be the best motel in Glen Innes but not any more - in fact none of the motels in Glen Innes are much good.

The Rest point Motor Inn is a clean, quiet, well appointed motel, ideal for a stop over in Glen Innes.
The bed was comfortable and the amenities plentiful with a spacious bathroom. My room was at the rear of the complex, so well away from any highway noise. I'll definitely stay there next time.

The bed was like sleeping on hard boards. So hard and uncomfortable we couldn’t sleep. The room is in serious need of a maintenance update, especially painting. The bathroom, especially the shower was disgusting. So horrible. On a positive note, the relief managers were friendly and helpful.

Old and outdated. Reception smelt like dogs. The bed was very comfortable , linen was clean. Tile on bathroom floor missing with tape over it. Mould and grit around edge of shower. Restaurant was under repair so had Togo elsewhere to eat Internet was pathetic

Easy to find on main road. Friendly greeting on arrival. Room at the back was clean and quiet. Comfortable bed. We would stay here again. Great location. Restaurant on site even though we didn't try it.

This is the second time in a month I have had to stay here. Last time the room was basic and the air conditioning was not keeping me warm. I found an old doona in a cupboard. My last visit the man at reception was rude but not this stay. This visit I have waited over an hour for room service. I have ordered bread and a dessert
