Great location near the heart of Forster but not in the hustle and bustle of everything. It is on the main road but we didn’t hear any cars or road noise as other reviews have stated. The shower was AMAZING and honestly the best shower I’ve had anywhere I’ve stayed. Great water pressure and very hot. It did leak however the entire time which resulted in a very wet floor (we just closed the shower curtain 24/7 after we realised that).

The reception staff and housekeeping were extremely friendly and helpful. At one point the housekeeping staff came to do our room however our daughters were napping so they got us everything we needed without entering the room (and whispered at the door) which was very much appreciated.

The pool was great and well enjoyed by our family. We were also given vouchers for a drink at the local bowling club which was a nice little extra for our stay.

The curtains are quite sheer which meant our kids were up at the crack of dawn, but nothing the tv channels couldn’t fix. The wifi also didn’t work which was a bit annoying but overall a great stay for the price.

I had to stop over in Forster so I called into this property. Their room rate over the counter was much cheaper than through a booking agent so was happy with that. Reception hours are 1 pm to 5 pm so I was lucky as I arrived around 4 so was able to get a room price in person.

Easy check-out with a drop box and they also offer a late check-in if needed.

The room was really nice. Very clean and comfortable. All amenities including a microwave and kettle.

Easy walk for dinner too with the bowling club next door and the much bigger Club Forster about a 10 minute flat walk.

There was only one negative with the accommodation and that was the lack of a block-out blind. OK if you're a business traveller, but if you want a sleep in, the blinds offer next to zero light blocking.

My partner and I stayed here last night the room was very clean & well maintained. The shower was spacious & the hot water was really hot which a lot of Motels lack. Now the down side NOISE we were upstairs & near the road which was extremely loud. Also the air conditioner as it cut in & out all night so kept us awake it was too cold to turn it off. Next time we will book a room downstairs & at the back of the building.

I booked this motel as I needed to be in Forster for 1 January on other business and nothing else was available. Google reviews all seemed quite good, and so I was happy enough to book.

My rating refers purely to the motel itself - I would add a star for helpful staff but even nice staff cannot turn a very ordinary and past its prime motel into a better one.

I am unsure of whether other travelers got better rooms or had a different expectation. But I can't echo the sentiments of others who have stayed here.

Upon arrival my check in was dealt with professionally by the staff member in attendance, albeit quite coldly rather than welcoming. I had booked a superior queen room hoping this was the best they had and paid $175 per night.

Within 5 minutes of walking into the room I had an asthma attack, so musty and mouldy was the air. Opening all windows and doors did not help. The furniture was old and past prime, the shower mouldy and the doona on the bed was an old, raw doona, not even a cover or sheet over it.

I asked at reception if there was an air purifier and the answer was 'it is a 40 year old hotel you know' which is not a solution to the problem (I have no beef with this staff member who did try to help). She offered an alternative room.

Interestingly this room had a newer bathroom (surely my deluxe room should have been this one to begin with? I deliberately avoided a 'standard room' and paid for the highest quality they had - why did I get the musty old room, one would ask?) This room had less of a musty smell but it still existed, the doona still had no cover (and is beyond prime) and the air conditioner was so old it had a weird wall sliding thermostat control and rattled all night, pumping out warm, musty air.

While clean enough it didn't seem sparkling as others have said but I guess the age of this motel plays into the feeling of cleanliness.

If you do go absolutely avoid room 33, and if the bowling club is reading this you simply cannot rent out that room, it's a complete health hazard.

We had very low expectations so I guess they were met. Perhaps had we paid standard rates under $100 we may have felt differently (probably not). I've stayed in a few Motels in my life and this one rates low on the list. The owners - the 'bowling club' need a to do a proper upgrade and deal with the rising damp urgently.

My son and I stayed here for one night and it was the best sleep both of us have had in awhile.
The staff on booking in were just beautiful, friendly and honestly, just amazing!
The room was clean and had nice cold air con. Bar fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave.
From the room no noise could be heard from outside, it was quiet and perfect. The beds were comfortable and pillows just the way I like them.
Amazing stay

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights here. The room is comfortable enough. Upon entry I found it had a musty smell and immediately opened all of the windows to air the place out. The decor is a little dated, the curtains were very sheer, and a central light would have been better than the small lamp-like lights around the main room. We also found that the front desk was not open in the few hours per day that it was supposed to be staffed.
On the upside - the best was comfortable, the main room and bathroom were spacious, as was the back balcony. The shower was amazing.
Very handy to, and run by, Forster Bowling Club.

A lot cleaner than it used to be. I heard the Bowling Club own it, you really need to at least have matching furniture and PLEASE put a 3rd sheet over the doona. That’s what triple sheeting is….
Thank you for club vouchers, took advantage of those !!

Stayed for 1 night while away for work. The motel itself is quiet old and in need of a renovation but it has now been taken over by the bowling club so I'm sure that is on the way. The curtains in my room were of no use at all as they did nothing to prevent outside light fromcoming in all night and the shower curtain did nothing to prevent the floor from becoming soaked after a shower. The bowling club next door has a buffet meal that was really good.

We stayed here on our wedding night in 1993 and decided to revisit it on a whim during a day trip. The room upstairs was clean and nicely decorated, we had a lovely little balcony with table and chairs. Bed was comfy, reception was friendly. We didn't use the pool on this visit but it looked clean and inviting.

very clean and quiet motel complex attached to the Forster Bowling Club and as such offers quite a range of benefits for visitors. Motel guests are offered 12 months free membership to the club plus a voucher for a complimentary drink ( for guys a full-sized schooner of beer of your choice ). We had meals in the bistro and included in the very reasonable price again vouchers for free drinks. We had a meal of battered flathead fillets the first night and on the second night we ordered whole lemon sole which proved to be absolutely huge, cooked perfectly, with salad and the trimmings. This club is an oasis of friendly and attentive staff, happy and relaxing atmosphere.
Summing up, for retired or elderly travelers, this motel should be on your list.

You could walk in but I think there was a step. Everything smelt stale. I actually slept in clothes that I could throw into the wash afterwards and used my own pillow. If you have another option, try to stay elsewhere is my recommendation. The upstairs room we were given was in serious need of renovation.
