Great place for drinks in the sun however , even in 2024 $17.50 a pint is outrageous. Probably won’t be back, there’s cheaper places in and around the CBD. Not even Manly is that expensive. Also the tables could use a wipe every now and then we were there for about 3 hours and the hair from previous patrons was there when we left

This hotel is well located and gorgeously renovated and styled. Unfortunately the windows in the rooms were paper thin. When booking we were aware it was above a pub, but thought as it was a weeknight it wouldn’t be too loud. We heard EVERYTHING all night outside. Buses beeping, garbage trucks emptying bins full of cans, motorbikes, people etc My partner sleeps through anything and had a shocker of a sleep also. Room itself was beautiful, comfy bed, lovely bay window, nice bathroom etc Perhaps they could double or triple glaze the windows or some other kind of sound proofing? Really unfortunate as it is absolutely gorgeous and right near the beach, but unfortunately I wouldn’t return as we barely slept and had to drive back to Melbourne the next day like zombies 😴🥱

If you’re drinking in the sports bar beer will cost you $7 if you want a drink with dinner it’s $10. Airports don’t change $10 for beer, the food was average and way over priced it’s a pub after all. Would not recommend drinking or eating here. Won’t be back any time soon

We booked an ocean view room above the pub. Let's start with the positives. The location and the view was great.
Now the negatives... They warned us prior to our stay that there may be some noise from the bar below, which is normally not an issue, but the live music that went until 2.30am felt like it was in our room. It was INCREDIBLY loud, the room was shaking. The live music should have been noted in the pre-travel information, this is not general bar noise, or least offer ear plugs to those staying in this room. It was absolutely horrible, we could not and did not sleep and had to leave early the next morning.
In addition to the music, there was an outside kitchen situated right outside our window on the same balcony, where they sorted culterly loudly for literally 48 hours. Why could this not be done inside away from booked rooms!?
They also stored seveal outside chair cushions in our hotel room, which is unprofessional and took up space. These should have been stored these in an empty room or a storage area.
The bathroom was dirty, rusted, and generally not clean.
The hotel is a maze and there is no signage to find your way to the reception. Follow the blue line, we found this out after walking around for 20 minutes trying to find someone to ask.
I would absolutely not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone. For the price we paid, which was quite alot, it was absolutely not worth it.

My friend and I went to Coogee Bay Hotel 11.3.23 and were disgusted by the service we received. We ordered fish and chips and they came to our table within a few minutes of ordering, stone cold, soggy and unpalatable. It was obvious that it had been cooked a long time ago, and they took the opportunity to serve a previously cooked meal. We mentioned to the chef that we received a meal that was cold, and he took the meal, refried it and served it back to us. We knew this because we had chopped a piece off the fish when we first tried it, and the same piece of fish was then served back to us. We would have happily waited for a fresh meal to be cooked and served - but we did not receive a fresh meal. The chef also then smirked at my friend as the old meal (refried) was then served back to us. We couldn’t eat it. One, for food safety reasons, and two, because it tasted refried and stale, so we asked for a refund. The initial waiter was polite and listened to our concern. She however had to get her manager to process the refund. We were then met with rude management questioning our complaint. The manager stated, it is not protocol to provide a refund for food that has already been provided, and said “we do not serve cold food”. She only then processed the refund when we explained that we would be posting a review about this online. My friend and I have had many years of experience working in the hospitality industry, and were really disappointed by the customer service we experienced. We rarely make a complaint about meals we have received, but we couldn’t eat what was served to us. The manager’s behaviour was so rude that my friend became distressed and upset. Really disappointing Coogee Bay Hotel, really disappointing. We will never be returning to Coogee Bay Hotel and will be advising our friends and family to do the same so they do not have to experience what we went through.

Asahi Beer $18 per pint. Then Wagyu beef burger $26 for a small cheese burger and French fries. What happened to proper burgers? Kid’s spaghetti is tomato sauce and noodles for $14? So over rated! If you want better value then go elsewhere!!!

Tuesday Drinks and dinner in the beer garden…. Expensive alcohol drinks… $19 glass of wine…food orders over 1 hour waiting and a basic cocktail took 43mins… being a Tuesday night it was not busy even though the staff insistently mentioned it is…. we asked for compensation as leaving with our meals in a takeaway container…. our senior director was gifted a dish of chips with aoli… never again .. and staff blamed the new guy that’s been working for 2 days.. geez not good business

Service was totally horrendous! I will not recommend this place to anyone... you get better service at the Macdonalds around the corner. Save yourself a bad time!!! Wanted to visit this place for a long time and left completely disappointed!

Came for breakfast.. Slow to serve. Coffee came cold yet the place was nearly empty. God forbid if you wanted 2 sugars. Asked for a bacon and egg roll.. could I get a little cooked union with that. NO. Flat no. Can't do variations. The grills on there's chopped unions already there.. damn. No wonder the cafe on the opposite corner was so full. Looks like that's where I head tomorrow.. I might ask for some grilled tomato.

Stayed at the Coogee Bay for a week. Great location, but that's about where the positives stop. Rooms in the pub wing are tired. Bathroom water temperature varied when in the shower, changing from too hot to very cold without even touching the taps. Have to walk through the pub to get to the rooms, and then climb the stairs.
Will stay elsewhere next time I head to sydney for work.

For us parking was included I think. It is under the motel however space isn't that large so if taking a large car be patient. T might be advisable to contact them and ask about parking options. Which ever way the place is awesome
There are more places to choose from in the Coogee area.
