Went here as a young travelers and it was an amazing place to stay. The room was a lot better than we expected for the price. We stayed in a twin room with the bunk, not expecting it to be too flash at all. It ended up being a lot larger than we thought, with a mirror, a small TV,...

We had a private double room, which was spotless. It was furnished well along with a TV, it was more like a guest house ! There were laundry facilities and kitchen facilities along with a large lounge room for guests. The toilets and shower areas were also spotless. The girls (staff) were friendly and so helpful, they knew most of...

Booking was easy & affordable, especially at the last minute. Superb close to the beach / bars & pubs/ restaurants location.. Comfortable communal areas with the neccessary required facilities to cook and clean and meet people. The atmosphere was.. as an independant traveller im indepandant.. the guests there are predominately long term workers who stay there.. (young people from england...

Great spot and a great vibe in this hostel. We stayed a few nights and were disappointed to leave. You really feel like your part of a family here. You honestly won't find somewhere closer to the beach and Sydney beaches are amazing. Fantastic nightlife just around the corner.

More like a guest house than a hostel. clean , free breakfast. Gordons bay is right around the corner and they have free snorkle gear in the hostel.. The pub on the back off the block has amazing food and a roof top bar over looking the beach. After a long flight it was only 20 mins from the airport...

Our room was updated to a 3 bed private instead of a dorm, so that was nice since we were travelling the tree of us. But our room was right between the entrance hall, living area and kitchen so it was kind of loud, not at weird hours or so but since we just landed from a long flight from...

This price is right and location is great. I admit to being a bit skeeved by the room - seemed old and dingy. But it was what you expect for the price. The shared bathrooms were ok - again pretty standard for an inexpensive hostel. Cereal and toast provided for breakfast.

Staying in Coogee

Neighbourhood Profile
Coogee
Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.
