Clean, comfortable room. Very pleasant and helpful Reception staff. Good fridge, microwave, crockery, cutlery etc available. Laundry on site. Nice big opening window for fresh air. Quiet, in spite of being right next door to Coogee Pavillion. Above all, a great location, right beside the beach, the beautiful coastal walk, shops and bus stops.

We needed accommodation for four nights close to our apartment as we prepared to move out and selected the Coogee Sands; great choice.

We had a King deluxe room with view (over a car park and electricity pylons) to the sea. We had pre-paid and check-in was quick, easy and very friendly and we were soon on our room on the second floor. As a note, be aware that although numbered as being on the ‘second’ floor, and the lift goes to here, our room was up a small flight of stairs.

It was spacious, bright, clean and well-appointed with a king bed, sofa, coffee table, long seating area for case unpacking, long table/desk and two chairs. There is also a small wardrobe with plenty of hangers and two large drawers for plenty of storage. As this is in the apartment part of the hotel there is also a small kitchenette with microwave, fridge, glasses, crockery, etc.

The location is excellent at the South end of Coogee beach with its myriad of cafes, pubs and restaurants all round. As the room also has a small balcony it is perfect of a drink or even a takeaway; there is an excellent information booklet in the room describing all the various options available locally

The bathroom is a good size with excellent Appelles toiletries (just love this brand!). It took a little hunt for the hairdryer – finally located on the top shelf in the wardrobe.

All staff are very friendly and it was a very comfortable stay and we have now booked several further stays in 2022 and 2023 when we need to return to Sydney and also for friends travelling from the UK to see us.

We recently arrived home in australia from america and we had certainly been missing aussie hospitality and kindness. The staff here genuinely embody that to a T. After over 30 hours in delayed flights, the team worked with us and ensured our room was still available. They were kind, gracious and willing to help.

The location is literally unbeatable, directly next to the world-famous Coogee pavilion and steps to the water, I was shocked when we arrived and realised what a deal we were getting for this location.

The rooms are functional and very classic sydney beach apartments, so they are exactly what we expected, clean and light filled. The on site parking is a huge gem people often miss, but parking in Coogee is known to be a nightmare, so pulling right up to the hotel and parking in the secure car park was amazing. When considering prices of hotels, remember that usually parking in Coogee is 4-10$ per hour. Even if you do the rate at $5, that for 24 hours is $120 alone, so there is Much of the cost of your room saved right in parking.

Seriously a great stay and we will be back!

Firstly, let me say, the location is fabulous. Particularly with children or babies, the close proximity to the beach and walking distance to the shops is perfect. The staff are friendly and helpful and the car parking on site is convenient and easy to access. Air conditioning works really well too. The negatives are that the rooms are dated. The crockery was dirty and we found that simple things like a kitchen bin would have been much more user friendly, rather than just one bathroom bin. The noise from the Pavilion carries on a Saturday and Sunday night, however is not heard during the week. We were often disrupted however, by chairs dragging along the floor in the upper floor apartment rooms. Being a family with a baby it was also really inconvenient to be put on a floor halfway between two floors. We either had to go up from level 2 or down from level 3. This made it really tricky with a pram.
On the last day, I had a check under the bed to make sure we hadn’t forgotten anything and found an old bottle of iced coffee. Just things like that make me question how thorough housekeeping is. I think that the establishment could do with a new lick of paint and some new appliances/items. It just feels a bit unloved and I don’t think we will be coming back. This is unfortunate as we would have loved for it to have ticked all our boxes.

We stayed at the Coogee Sands Hotel & Apartments over the new year. We had a fantastic time for the 5 nights. The room was big enough for us and our two kids (ages 7 and 9) as well as our luggage and all of our beach gear. It was great having the generous outdoor area as well.

Being next door to the famous Coogee Pavilion was so handy, we were there every day for either a meal or a coffee.

The beach is literally on your doorstep and it is a very a short walk to a heap of great restaurants, pubs and a Woolworths Metro. We did the Coogee to Tamarama beach walk on one of the days and it was such a highlight.

To have off-street parking was brilliant as well as Coogee is a very popular area over this period! The vibe there was so great. This beach is such a contrast to Bondi... it is very family friendly oriented.

We loved the fact that there were 24/7 staff on the front desk as well. They were all so friendly and helpful.

We think this hotel is the best located in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and we cannot wait to return!

We recently stayed at the Coogee Sands Hotel and Apartments and overall it was a great experience. Starting off with the very friendly and welcoming staff who checked us in. We stayed in a studio apartment (1 king bed & 1 sofa bed) and while the room was very small (for 2 adults & 2 children) it was comfortable and suited our needs as we only stayed overnight. One thing that struck me and my husband immediately was the cleanliness of the room. Everything was neat and tidy and no dirt, dust or grime to be spotted. The room had a microwave, small fridge, crockery & cutlery, iron, ironing board and flat screen TV of course (Foxtel). Another plus point was the underground parking, ultra convenient as it saved us from having to search for a parking spot in a nearby street (and believe me it is an ultra busy area even on a Sunday night). They charge $25 per night for parking, but it was worth it. The location is fantastic, right next to the beach with large grassed areas, close to restaurants & take aways, also a handy small convenience store nearby and children's playground towards the other end of the beach.
At night, we could hear music from the bar next door, however it wasn't extreme and we all managed to fall asleep. The only thing that wasn't ideal during our stay, was that the fan in the bathroom/toilet wasn't working, but as we only stayed 1 night we didn't bother raising the issue. In my opinion it's reasonably pricy to stay there, but I suppose that's the trade-off for staying in such a convenient location and right on the beach.

Main strength of this hotel-apartments are location (close to beach and eateries), very friendly staff, very clean presentation. However, at busy times there maybe no free parking forcing one to use paid 4 hour parking regardless of the day. Outside can be noisy on weekends but rooms well insulated for sound

We had a great stay here, and enjoyed all that Coogee has to offer. Coogee Sands is next to Coogee Pavilion, which is useful to know when booking Ubers. There are also many bus routes from the nearby bus stop.
The rooms facing the front with balconies have a nice view with “filtered” views of the beach through the trees.
We stayed on both the 1st and 3rd floors. At the time we booked, a 3rd floor room wasn’t available for our entire stay, but the staff were very helpful indeed when we changed rooms. Both rooms had a kitchenette with sink, kettle, crockery etc, but only a microwave (no hotplates or toaster). It was certainly adequate for preparing light meals, but it isn’t designed for heavy duty cooking.
The first floor room had a table for two on the balcony and a bench in the room with two chairs, but no table or arm chair. The 3rd floor room had a 2 person couch and more bench space.
Both bathrooms were modern with great water pressure.
Note that there are a few steps between the lift landing and most (if not all) the front-facing rooms.
The kingsize bed was fine and the rooms were well soundproofed, so when the door to the balcony was closed, there was hardly any noise from the street or the Coogee Pavilion next door or the occasional plane overhead. These are planes coming in to land at the east-west runway at the airport which isn’t used a lot and not at all during curfew hours.
