First time here snd I was very impressed. The rim was a good size, bed very comfortable, bathroom clean, plenty of space with everything one would need. There are a few fast food dining options just across the street and plenty of restaurants a 5 minute drive way in Cessnock/ The reception staff were efficient at check in and check out and the room was always tidy whenever I came back from my local travels. Pool on premises. Great for families. I would thoroughly recommend this motel.

We travelled to Cessnock to check out wedding venues for our daughter. It is approximately 9kms from the vineyards. We had room 12 (located at back). Unlike other reviews, we didn't find the motel noisy from street traffic at all. We indulged in their clean pool due to the weather being 40 degrees that day. I found the room extremely clean and tidy. The bathroom was immaculate. Showerhead could be better, but it did it's job. I had to adjust the fridge as it didn't seem cold enough. I would say all rooms have been updated within the last 2-3 years. It was fresh, clean and modern. The outside is also clean and tidy. It's location to Cessnock is excellent with takeaways and restaurants in close proximity (walking distance). I cannot comment on the staff as I wasn't involved in the checking in/checking out process. I did receive a call from them the day before our arrival to confirm our check in time. He seemed pleasant enough when speaking with him. I would totally recommend this motel for short stays.

We stayed for one night. This motel was good value with easy parking, clean white sheets, fluffy white towels, clean shower with good water pressure and air con. We got a room arriving at almost 10pm without a reservation. Would definitely recommend.

We selected Cessnock Motel, as it suited our budget for a one-night stay, great location… only a 12-minute drive to Hunter Valley Gardens, which was the reason for our overnight stay at Cessnock Motel. Check in was fast, staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful. He issued me with a key to open the door to our room and told me that on-site parking are unallocated, which I chose the available parking space closest to our room. The motel is basic but the presentation of our room was reasonably clean and tidy, had all the necessities you need (body wash / shampoo and conditioner, soap, coffee/tea condiments, air con and the necessary appliances), to make our stay comfortable. Our room size with a queen-sized bed was rather “snug”. Our bed and pillows were comfortable. The reason why I stated “reasonably clean” is because the carpet had stains – looked rather dirty, I wouldn’t walk barefoot on the carpet and had that musty smell in our room, the same goes for our girls’ room. We had to open the window to let some fresh air in and left it opened overnight. Although our room was furthest away from traffic, it wasn’t the traffic that annoyed us, it was our noisy neighbours - our room wasn’t soundproof but we eventually had a decent and comfortable sleep. You also get free Wi-Fi and a flatscreen TV. Cessnock Motel is also across the road from fast-food outlets and pub and walking distance to the city centre… approximately 15-minute walk. Word of advice, if you want to cross the road to grab something quick to eat, it’s best to drive across the road (no nearby traffic lights to cross the road), especially during peak time – so dangerous. Check-out was super easy, just drop your keys in their drop box, located outside reception and continue on with your travels. Well-located and conveniently close to the city centre, perfect for travellers or business people who are staying there for a night or two – convenience at your fingertips. However, there is definitely room for improvements. I do know times are tough but it’s doable to have the carpets cleaned, a room at a time, still running a business and getting an income.

After a little hiccup with housekeeping on the first day, all issues were resolved and the housekeeping lady did a good job. I wouldn’t say the reception staff were very friendly or welcoming, just happy to take our money. The motel is only basic. OK for a few nights but nothing longer. I never saw anybody clean the pool. The town is within walking distance and several fast food outlets across the road. I would suggest they replace the dirty carpet with floating timber floors that could be mopped clean, especially with a little kitchen area. Having a toaster, kettle, microwave, and sink was a good addition. Always read the latest reviews.

Decided to stay local, after seeing Sting at Bimbadgen. I had prebooked the accommodation the year before-no drama there. Many of the other accommodation premises were already booked out for that night. Booking over the phone was easy and the receptionist was very helpful. We arrived on the day & picked up the key from reception. We had a room furthest away from the road. The room was small but neat, clean, tidy & quiet. My first issue was the price of the room-$246.00 with no breakfast included. I knew at the time of booking that there wouldn't be one but I was hoping for a meal voucher at least. I was told I could have breakfast at Maccas, or Oportos across the road. My second issue is the size of the carpark spaces. We have and average size SUV, we are both slightly build persons and it was a very tight fit between cars. In other words, this place may be close to your destination but it is not value for money.

We arrived today at 12pm and we were able to check into our room straight away. We are staying in the family room, 1 queen and 2 singles. Fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave. The place is absolutely immaculate and plenty of room. Across the road is oportos and McDonald’s, IGA and Woolworths 10 mins walk away. It’s literally a 10 min drive to Hope estate. I’m so happy I chose this hotel it’s perfect distance to everything and the staff are friendly. Will definitely stay again and recommend this to anyone coming to the hunter.

Located on a very busy and noisy main road, with building works currently being carried out at the side/back of the motel, this is not the place for you if you are noise sensitive. It is clean and comfortable but I have no idea where its 4 stars came from when compared to other 4 star establishments in the area. It is set in a U shape around a concrete carpark with nowhere but the room to sit. I guess when paying $120, you get what you pay for.

Don't you dare come down with Covid the night before you travel. Because they don't care. No refund. Terrible customer service as well.

you'd think after years of Covid, these places would be understanding. No doubt they sold my room without a hassle. The phone call I got ordering me to cancel my hotel room through booking.com (i didn't) proves that.

AVOID.
