The Cumberland was a quick overnight stopover for us on our way to Tamworth. Rooms are large and spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had a family room which suited us, 2 adults and 2 children. There was a flip out sofa which could have accommodated another child. Wonderful, friendly check in staff. Great place to stay!

Room was clean, had a big family bathroom, a hot shower with good pressure and the beds were comfy! We are 2 adults 2 kids (4 &7yrs) the family room had 2 singles and a queen + a fold out sofa... The style is older but clean as a whistle and had everything we needed...it will be our Hunter stop...

We were attending a weekend family event in the Pokolbin area but the prices at the resorts amongst the vineyards is quite exhorbitant by any standard. So we checked out accommodation in Cessnock which is 10-20 minutes from the vineyards and found the Cumberland Motor Inn to be just what we wanted. There was a bit of a mix up...

We had an overnight stay for a rugby league game at Cessnock, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Yes the bathroom although dated was also spacious and clean. Reception was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this motel for a lower budget accomodation!

One street back from the main street of Cessnock this place has plenty of parking, some undercover. Our room, on the 1st floor was quite large and clean and tidy, Good sized comfy queen bed with a/c and a fan, although the fan seemed to have 2 speeds - very slow and very fast - it did look a bit...

Big quiet rooms with pleasant accommodating staff. We'd recommend staying out of Cessnock nearer to the wine areas if you can find any comparable priced places as Cessnock doesn't have what we'd expected in the Hunter Valley for atmosphere. We agree with it's rating of 4.3 out of 5 again if you need to stay in Cessnock.

As indicated by others, this is an older style motel but we found the room to be quite large which was the main reason for our stay. It has a large queen size bed plus a lounge and the shower was also quite large. There are 3 pubs within walking distance, definitely recommend the Royal Oak Hotel, dinner there was...

As other reviewers have indicated this is an older style motel with larger than normal rooms. This extends to the bathroom where the shower stall was enormous. The main room contained one queen and one single bed and, very conveniently, a couch. The room was comfortable but the tariff was a little high for what it was. The restaurant appears...

Last minute desicion to stay overnight, we had a room that was a very good size that could accomodate 3 adults. It is an older style property however our room was clean, warm and a reasonably priced. The pub next door has a decent menu.

Being on the edge of the Hunter wine district seems to give them the idea they can charge a premium price for a less than premium product. This is a very basic motel which is looking a bit tired. The staff are friendly and the rooms clean but average. Many Aussie motels are overpriced by world standards and this is...
