Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you just want a place to 'put the head down' overnight in south west sydney at a reasonable price, this is not a bad choice. The room was well equipped, reasonable modern, quite large and surprisingly quiet, (noting it is a pub motel and we stayed on a Saturday night). Reception in the moring is non existent, (you leave your key in the room), at night you might need to find someone in the pub. There is not a lot going on in the surrounds, its certainly not a base for touring Sydney, but if you are visiting people or have business in the area and you just need an inexpensive place to sleep and freshen up, this is a pretty good option. I would stay here again.

Ever since @themillhotel introduced the noodlish range I really wanted to try it and finally went there last week!

Tried the Bang Bang chicken.

To be perfectly honest I had low expectations for this because the @themillhotel hasn't had a good track record with noodle dishes, but this dish didnt beat those low expectations.

The bang bang chicken was very very confusing, it looked like bang bang chicken but tasted like Peking duck. There was definitely an overbalanced of savoury and tangy flavours which really threw it off, and the noodles itself, it was way too tangy.

I give it a 3 out of 5

I would go so far to say that @themillhotel show have stayed with the burgers rather than go to the noodlish.

We have been here a few times as it is convenient to meet our friends there when we are travelling to Bowral. The system is good, and the wait time is ok. But the meals, other than burgers, are not hot. Even my steak was just warm. The veges were just warm, and we had to send the Lasagne back as it was cold. The manager was very apologetic as she should be, and the meal was replaced, although we suspected it was a clean plate, microwaved with freshly grated, melted cheese on top. The melted cheese was an addition. The beer, wine and service all very good, and we will go back, but no more chances.

This pub had been our favorite local place to gather with friends over 15 years. Unfortunately, the business was sold last year and finally the changes have been adopted. The character has been changed and as a result it was quite empty and boring. The food was terrible - the worst pizza with a Chipotle sauce poured over it creating a thickly disgusting creamy mess. The feedback from our friends' food was similarly poor. Very sad we lost our lively watering hole. PS. They even removed our two favorite beers 150 Lashes and Furphys.

Visited with friends, hotel manager needs training in customer service. Rude aggressive and makes up lies to save face. Was only there 10 minutes and believe me 10 minutes was to long. Won’t return to such poor service.

Had one night here, and was comfortable, and had everything we could need. The bathroom we had was a bit outdated, but that's the only criticism. We had dinner and drink at the restaurant and everything was fabulous, the food was lovely and the decor was so nice, modern and noteworthy.

The WORST establishment we've dined at! We have family coming from overseas next month this place was recommended by friends. We arrived around 530 pm. Though we we're impressed by the interior, it had an unwelcome feel. We got to restaurant counter was attended by 'Danielle'. When we asked questions she answered with a sarcastic, condescending tone, extremely POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS, lack there of. When we received our garlic bread it was COLD INSIDE AND STALE! We were saving our appetites all day were so hungry we ate it anyway. My cousin's meals came out, they looked nice and hearty. I got the barramundi, the size was probably 1/8th of the actual fish, served with incompatible potato & cheese 'something'? I think there was pumpkin of some sort, and 5 uncooked green beans. It had no sauce or taste so I asked for some sauce. The chef poured bernaise out of a carton and assured me 'it's top quality' For $24 I'd expect at least cooked vegetables, home made sauce not from supermarket shelf, and hospitable staff! Drinks were also served in plastic picnic cups! The bartender wasn't any nicer. We spent over $100 for the food alone, this was the WORST dining experience EVER! Suggestion: Maybe teach your staff basic CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS since they work in the service industry it's not hard to smile and be polite.

I had decided to go to The Mill for my birthday to celebrate. After enjoying some dinner, I had decided to try my luck at the pokie machines. During that time, a security guard had approached my partner's brother and asked him to leave on the grounds of "if you're not playing, you have to go". After my partners brother stated that he would get off the seat or put money in to play, the security guard left and returned with an additional 2 security guards and 3 police officers. It was an embarrassing experience to say the least. What was supposed to be a celebration ended up being a public humiliation. The security guard further had made a false statement when I went to talk to the manager and claimed that my partners brother was "aggressive" and "intoxicated" even though he was neither. To add salt in the wound, when we had finished talking with the manager, we had decided to join my partners brother for a cigarette before we were going to leave in the parking lot. Another security guard had approached us again asking us to leave. It truly was embarrassing.

Do not go to the Mill Hotel if you have dark skin.
The old White male security guard will do anything to make your night miserable.
Spend your money at a venue where staff actually know how to practice customer service on the job and not just during the job interview.
Looks like making the trek to the CBD is the only option these days.

What was once was a great hotel to grab a good cheap meal, now a place to avoid! Having dined here many times over its short life I now have to really think twice about eating here. On our last visit we had to return dishes as they were below par. The nachos, which used to be excellent is now boring, lazy and tasteless! Ive only ever ordered a steak twice and both times were overcooked and dry! It seems any meal on the menu which was half decent is soon replaced or downgraded, yet the prices always rise?
