Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked online last minute and got a surprise upgrade to the "luxury suite". Room was big, king bed and a single, bathroom was big and very clean but that was about it. Nothng specifically "luxury" about it. Not even a microwave. No matter. Good price, good AC, good TV and away from road noise. Bed wasn't overly comfortable but the room overall was good.

I stayed here for one night for business. I was checked in by a Man that was in a rush and was told I was upgraded. My room was above reception and once I opened the door the room smelt and was dirty. I did not want to sleep in the bed as it felt unhygienic. When checking out the Man was in a rush again. No Customer Service at all. I will not be back…..

I Booked and paid for an Executive Room. On arrival received a standard room. Apparently it was an upgrade. No, Executive is better than Standard in anybody's language. Would not provide room that was booked and paid for. Very poor service would not recommend. Also, very questionable clientele.

Stayed overnight and was greeted warmly by the courteous reception staff who explained in detail regards restaurant meals still available It was also mentioned I had been given a ground floor room at back for quietness as I had requested .Tick, tick, when I entered room it was clean, modern and a very comfortable bed gave me a great nights sleep with the added bonus of its quietness.Plus only used briefly but aircon was new and quiet . Upon departure I was meet with the same courtesy and farewelled like family most certainly stay here again when in Dandenong .

Paid for "superior" room. More like 2 star flea bitten motel.. Mattress was old & lumpy.. Went to reception and said we would only stay 1 night instead of 2 so offered for us to look at different rooms & we picked the best one out of 6. Still disgusting room. Crappy mattress & old dusty curtains. Advised reception would still only stay one night but was told that we had to cancel 24 hours prior to.. As we had "booked" in we could not cancel for the second night even though we were giving them 24 hours notice of cancellation on the second night. Had asthma attack due to cleanliness of room so left after a couple of hours and lost $300 for 2 nights.. Beware!! they have your credit card details at booking so as soon as you arrive you are "technically" booked in in their eyes. If we were able to view the room prior to being"booked in" we would have only forfeited first night for cancellation. Great way for them to get more money out of people. Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone!.

I stayed for 4 nights in the queen deluxe room. It was extremely clean, the bed was very comfortable, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I was very impressed with the money I paid and what I received. I’d highly recommend to anyone needing to stay in the area.

THE WORST EXCUSE FOR A HOTEL ANYWHERE IN AUSTRALIA. Unexpectedly booked by a friend at the last minute, due to the location. We arrived by car from Apollo Bay to be greeted by a young Chinese boy, so overworked it was impossible to get any level of customer service from this poor overworked little fellow.
Unbeknownst to me my friend had already paid for the room, however that didn't stop them charging me by eftpos again, (which was subsequently sorted out), PLUS the $10 "DAMAGE BOND", which was explained would be returned to my account the next day after we checked out providing all was well and good in the room. I'm still waiting for the so called "BOND" to be returned to my account some 5 days later.
After they read this review, I doubt if I will ever see it again.
When we opened the door to the room we were sent reeling by the smell of the absolutely overpowering cheap air freshener spray, God only knows what odours they were trying to get rid of from the room. Next into the bathroom and the water mixer tap on the basin was literally flopping all over the place, not attached securely would be an understatement, so off to reception to complain. Mr Wong came to the room and says, "no problem" I will have it fixed. Next, tried to turn on the aircon in the room, no luck there either, off to Mr Wong again but he's not at reception, he's taking a guests dinner order in the adjoining restaurant. To cut a long story short, the people who run the so called hotel are of Indian decent and I believe the whole operation is all about money, NOT customer service and providing a decent hotel for people to stay in.
In all my life in many hotels in Australia and around the world have I ever been insulted by adding a ten dollar damage bond to the bill, that I am still waiting to be returned.
Sorry, I forgot to mention the all night threesome they were having in the room next door that didn't add anything to our stay here.
The hotel is dirty, seedy and I nearly forgot, is right next door to a Fire Station with their sirens and radios blaring all night. DON'T STAY HERE is all I can say to sum up.

I recently had some work in Melbourne, and instead of commuting down each day, I decided to stay at a hotel close by.

Booking the room over the phone was a pleasant experience. I decided to splurge, and booked a spa suite, and the woman I had spoken to, had offered me a free upgrade to a deluxe room, which I had happily accepted.

On arrival, I went to reception, and had to wait several minutes to be served. I was then promptly informed I did not have a booking (even though I had a booking reference number) , the man then walked back to the bar.

He returned several minutes later, tried again to find my booking in the system, but could not. I was concerned as I had given my credit card over the phone to pay for the booking. He then took my credit card off me, and then again walked off for several minutes.

He came back eventually, told me I had no booking at that hotel, I must have booked into a different hotel, and would have to do a new booking for me. When I gave him my phone number, he then found my details in the system, and then assured me he would search for my other booking to cancel it.

The room was tiny, dark, smelled musty, and had water stains all over the carpet. The 2 towels provided were more like over sized hand towels, than bath towels. There was no electric blankets. The bed was so uneven, I had to put a pillow behind me to stop falling off.
The only saving grace was the spa.

The next day I received a phone call from the hotel. A polite lady had called to find out why I had not checked in as yet, and if my booking was still needed. I informed her I had checked in (gave her the room number I was staying in), and she was confused about why the staff member could not find my original booking, as it was there (and clearly not canceled as the man had promised me). She apologised several times, and assured me she would cancel the extra booking so there would be no additional charge to my credit card.

I work frequently in Melbourne now, and even though the location of this hotel is very handy to where I work, I will never be staying there again.
