Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Big 4 Dandenong offers fresh cabin accommodation and a base to everything you could need in Melbourne. We day tripped to Melbourne City and Mornington Peninsula with ease. The park is clean and well kept. Cute camp kitchen and basic playground. Reception staff always happy and helpful. We were late arriving and they organised some keys for us to collect and had the lights and AC on for us in our cabin. Would stay again.

I stayed at Big4 with my son while he participated in a national sporting tournament. We arrived late and the manager had the heater running and some milk provided which was lovely. The cabin was warm and dry even during some heavy rain we experienced on the last night. The management team were also only to happy to help with changes to my booking and provision of a trundle bed. Really felt looked after. Thanks for making the stay so good.

Stayed here in our caravan for 4 nights when visiting family. Beautiful little park, the grounds are really well maintained with beautiful little flower boxes outside each cabin. Not a huge park and only a little playground for kids but that suited us as the bigger parks with lots of kids stuff can get quite noisy. The toilets/shower facilities were spotless and the music choices being played were great. The 2 ladies we dealt with in the office were very friendly and extremely helpful when we had to extend our stay for a night. Considering the park is just off a main road it was still fairly quiet. Suited our needs to a tee. Will return again

It was getting dark and we had been traveling between service agents with our caravan all day, last stop Dandenong.Mary was extremely helpful given the hour, providing us with a drive through, powered site in a quiet spot. The amenities are very clean. We would stay again.

As an essential traveller who's main residence is a motorhome I tried to book into this park today as they open to those in need during COVID. I was told the weekly rate and then advised that I would be charged power on top of the powered site I was paying for !!. There are no facilities open, no amenities, no pool or laundry and when I complained I was told that I could either pay for the full rate as though the park was fully operational or I could pay power on top of the powered site. I think we would all refer to this as the carvan park that takes advantage of those in need during this time. Shame on you BIG 4, what a scam. I have stayed in other caravan parks and BIG during this time & never been treated like this. I have since reported this to BIG 4 head office.

Please don’t use this caravan park if you have dogs, didn’t advise until arrived, drove from interstate, so wasn’t impressed. Promised to call the next caravan park to advise we were coming, couldn’t be bothered to do that either.

Stayed for 3 nights.. Easy check in and pitch site was good.. Clean grounds and ablution blocks.. Bit of confusion over the sites as not labelled very well.. Drove around twice to find it.. Realised that someone had plugged into our site which is what confused us and them.. Could do with labelling the sites better so people don’t get confused..

Clean amenities (two blocks to choose from) with plenty of room, two camp kitchens, large laundry, sites have either cement slabs or fake grass. Easy drive to the shopping plaza (10 mins in busy traffic), kids playground near one camp kitchen. Nice and quiet at night with some traffic noise during the day, lovely safe park with no permanent residents. Heaps of cabins as well as camp sites. Have an hour drive to SOT. Free fast wifi included.

Recently stayed for five nights at the park. We find it very central for our needs. The park is central, there is a bus stop out front which will drop you off at local points of interest and a local rail railway station (Dandenong). The park is quiet, kept clean and generally managed well. It could be a problem with the NBN but something has changed - before it worked well, now it either doesn’t work or is not reliable. So much for free WiFi being available. I have stayed there before and will stay again.
