Our cycle group came here on our West Coast tour. Good WiFi! Rooms were a good size, but with dated bathrooms; no flyscreens nor aircon. Perfectly pleasant stay. Good laundry facilities. Easy walk to town for shops.

Room was so hot 🥵 small fan that was broken. Window opened a small way but traffic noise from 5am and barking dog all night was too much. Bathroom old and rusty. PowerPoints broken. Light beside bed didn’t work. Expensive and awful experience.

Response from Murrey Y, Manager at Silver Hills Motel

Hi Katiepri We are disappointed that your stay with us was not satisfactory. You stayed with us for 2 nights. Unfortunately, at no stage did you come to reception and request that we address the problems you had. We have spare fans that we could have replaced the broken one with. We checked the fan and it does work, however the buttons on the top have been damaged. We were not informed of this so we could replace it. The bedside lamp needed a bulb replacing. We have new bulbs for replacements. We simply need our guests to inform us and we fix the problem immediately. We note that during your stay you were in our restaurant for breakfast on the first morning. That would have been an opportune time to report your problems, including the road noise and the barking dog. We could have immediately moved you to a room further from the road. To address the more expensive room rate you paid, you booked through a third party who booked you into a more expensive room than you required. You indicated that you were travelling on business and by booking direct with us, we could have offered you the corporate rate which would save some expense. We are pleased to note that on the last night of your stay, you had a hearty meal in our restaurant and hopefully left feeling a little better about your stay. Hopefully you may wish to stay with us again some time whence we can try to redeem our good reputation with you. Kind regards

We visited as a family and stayed in a very comfortable room. The bathroom was a bit dated but the shower produced plenty of hot water and was really great. Another highlight was the evening view from the window- just great.

Rooms very basic, more budget than the price range indicates. Could do with updating and painting, walls dirty with wear, shower needs rerouting very black near the bottom of shower and screen cracked in 2 places. Only 1 spare power point in the room. Very claustaphobic if you had to spend a long time inside. Lots of flies in the room.
