Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I stayed a few nights here at the end of a week in the area. Under the new friendly management, more improvements are underway. We had a drive-through site and it was a really relaxing time for us. Will definitely come back.

G'day again from the Wombats on Tour.
Arrived on a Saturday night for 2 nights to do weekend Port Pirie attrrctions. Found park to be on A1 Highway which quietened down after sunset, just an occasional truck or car. Powered site was pretty level on gravel, clean and neat. Water was clean with excellent flow and power was not less than 15 amps.
Vern, the manager was most helpful and guided us in. He has been manager here for less than a year and is putting time into bringing park standards up after previous management.
Cost was $20 for site with 2 adults and an extra $5 for children with no charge for toddlers.
Park is pet friendly and usual rules apply and must be adhered to.
Permanent residents are friendlier than most you strike at other parks.
Ammenities are old, but very clean with top quality hand soap, toilet tissue and paper hand towels.
Wednesday evening is barbque night with meat supplied
A quick inspection of cabins revealed a budget style that was clean and inexpensive.
RECOMMEND BOOKING AHEAD as park is not overly large and can fill quickly in afternoons in and out of season.

This campsite was right off the A1 in Port Pirie. It was easy to find, but perhaps too close to the motorway as the trucks kept us up all night. That and the rain… but that is not the fault of the campsite. We were actually tent camping - people in caravans may not be affected by the noise as much.

The site itself was beautifully manicured and very clean. There was a nice kitchen area with free barbecue, kettle, and fridge/freezer. The toilets were sparkling, although there were two HUGE spiders in the ladies in the morning and that pretty well freaked me out. But I was the first one showering in the morning, and as it is obviously cleaned on a regular basis, if I had slept in they probably would have been gone. So perhaps I was just too early.

Mark, the manager was wonderful and up for a good chat. The best thing was the cost… only $12 for a campsite. Now that is a bargain. But then because of the road noise we didn’t sleep well, so perhaps we should have gone a bit more off road. I would not stay here again in a tent... but in a caravan it might be fine.

I am reviewing the cabins as that is where we stayed. They should not be charging $100.00 night for these rooms. So old drab and dirty, and as others have mentioned, smelly. Bed was comfortable and seemed clean, that was about they only good thing. Towels were thread bare. Furniture was very worn and grotty. Park itself was quiet, with few permanents there set up in vans. Noise from road was a bit load but that didn't bother us too much.

We booked this park in advance and paid upfront. When we arrived there was no-one there. Place locked. We phoned the number and got an answering machine. We left a message asking for call back. Two days later we are still waiting. Thankfully we were able to get other accommodation that is very nice.

I have stayed at the Beach Caravan park closer to Pirie but they DO NOT offer any discounts so a friend suggested the Rangeview caravan park out a bit on the Highway.
Its at least half price than the others and they DO OFFER discounts as well!! Its not as green as the other parks but it is very well run by the owner/caretaker. Yes you do hear some traffic but you know, after a couple of days it doesn't worry me at all.
The ambience of the park itself is very quiet and the free barbecue every Wed is fantastic!!!!!! Bring a beer or two and sit around chatting to the other caravaners.
I travel around the state a fair bit and stayed in some very nice parks but i find the Rangeview caravan park in Port Pirie to be the best one so far!!

We stayed with 2 other couples mid week as a base to explore the country towns arena the area. For a busy highway, we didn't hear much noise aftet 11 pm. The camp is dated but toilets and showers would be the best we have had during our travels. Clean park, big and generous drive through sited with shade, and leval.
Managers were friendly and very helpful. Great park, will stop again.

Great kitchen, excellent amenities, hot showers and wonderful views. Our team of Peace Runners – running around Australia – had a really good night's rest. Caretaker Peter could not have been nicer or more helpful. Thank you!

See stayed for 1 night while on a road trip. Only a few minutes to town which has everything you need and a great playground on the water front.
Lady at reception and on the phone was really lovely.
Family room ( an old ATCO portable) had loads of room for our family of 5 - everyone had their own bed and a large lounge and dining area meant we could relax in comfort.
Park was much smaller than expected and we didn't use the amenities. Views were fantastic, could sit and watch that for hours! Beautiful sunset colours.
Only down side for me was the number of bugs in the room. Ants and cockroaches in the cupboards meant we didn't use anything and got takeaway from town. Given the location and number of bug spray cans around, I guess this is usual.
Also, the shower is very small - I had to duck down and I'm 5"2'.
Wouldn't stop me staying here again though.
