I was go smacked to walk into what I thought was going to be almost premium accommodation to be greeted by filthy carpet everywhere. Even in our room.
The smell on entering was noticeable and no double caused by the dirty carpeting in the hallway and rooms.
I have never seen anything like it in all my years of travel.
The location was great.
The staff were great especially Dean who was very helpful.
Bed was good.
It has stairs and a small lift.
It does overlook the water not that you can really see much.
Car parking is $12 for 12 hours outside in the council carpark.

Thank you Marlncove for taking the time to leave your feedback. We appreciate it. The Heart will be going through a refurbishment this year where the carpets will be replaced. I will pass your kind words onto Dean, he'll be happy to read he could be of assistance. We are so glad you liked our beds, location and convenient council parking. I hope we can welcome you back in the future. Please contact me directly should you wish to. feedback@athotelgroup.com Kind regards, Sarah | Guest Experience at the atHotelgroup.com

The Heart is in a great location, rooms are compact yet functional but as we were only two can't see any more staying comfortably and we had two beds in the room which faced the street. A real party town, downside is the nightly noise from the live bands. Enjoyed the De Longhi Nespresso coffee machine but not the tiny balcony. Biggest disappointment to what is touted an upscale boutique accomodation and contrary to otherwise advertised, they have no internet so you have to use your own mobile data at your cost. This also meant the Bose stereo in the room was reduced to nothing more than a digital radio clock and couldn't help to drown out the noise.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback. I'm sorry you weren't aware of our location being in the "Heart" of Airlie. We offer rooms with a "water aspect". Or "village view" to which you booked. Village being on the entertainment side of the building, Shute Harbor Road. So yes, the room you booked does look onto the street. The room is also a fitted with a Bose sound bar underneath the smart TV, not just a Bose digital radio. Boutique can be complimentary high end amenities, amazing linen and daily serviced rooms. We do apologize for no WIFI. This issue hasn't been a quick fix for us, and is being replaced as we speak. Kindest regards, Sarah

Giving it 3.5 stars as pillows are too soft, room is relatively clean and neat but very compact. Amenities are adequate. Some regular deep cleaning & maintenance required. Good location. There is noise from bars but sound minimised as windows & balcony doors are double glazed. Use the Bose soundboard in the room & play some music to mask it more. The Deck is very good. Had wonderful service from April & Laura as we were there often. Food & drink selection is good & tasty. The Salted caramel baked pudding is superb!! Will visit again especially if maintenance & deep clean is regular

We had been given a complimentary 11 AM checkout the evening before departure, 1 hour later than the 10 AM provided checkout. At 10:30 AM, a woman walked into the room without knocking. My friend was dressed and laying in bed as we returned from breakfast and I was on the toilet. She said “sorry”, left the room and then came back to reopen the door without permission AGAIN and threw the clean sheets for the next guest all over the floor, in the walkway inside our room as shown in photo (where sheets are in photo is exactly where she threw them and left them). This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel, this is far from a 5 star experience and is an abnormal experience for even a cheaper hotel, or even a hostel for that matter. It is always a standard to still knock. When coming in and out through the stay, I heard Allison and an older gentleman that worked at the desk talking poorly and would gossip about various guests. When going to checkout, Alison said “what do you need” in a rude tone, rather than asking us how we are, if we enjoyed our stay, ect. I informed about the experience of the staff entering the room and throwing the next guests sheets in and the response was that she would simply speak to housekeeping about it, and she did not seem to think it was a big deal and showed no care or compassion. She also told us that despite having been confirmed for a late checkout the evening before, they put that our late checkout was on a different date accidentally, but it was clearly indicated which room we were in and that it was in the morning we’d be leaving. This is not a valid excuse. She also tried to blame it on maintenance and said they mentioned to her that they did that, but maintenance didn’t have a reason to visit our room and they wouldn’t be the ones with new sheets. What if my friend and I were changing, what if they walked into the actual bathroom while using the toilet, ect. This is a serious situation and an invasion of privacy and even safety that should be taken seriously. I guess the “do not disturb” sign on the door does not account for anything at Heart Hotel. This was my second stay here, and likely my last after this issue on the last day and Alison’s lack of kindness through the stay or care of this event. The property is in less well kept condition than my time here a few years back as well, we found hairs in the bed and gum stuck to nightstands. The most disturbing part is knowing that the sheets that were used to make our bed and all guests bed are thrown in a messy pile to sit on the dirty floor that everyone walks on with their dirty shoes, we even got black marks on the sheets as we left accidentally as we did not feel it was our responsibility to move them after this invasion of privacy. I read other reviews after the stay and found that others experience with the same staff members and cleanliness were consistent with our experience. Stayed Sep. 2-6 2024

Thank you Zach for taking the time to leave your feedback again. I have copied the property Manager's response in case you missed it on your Expedia and Google review. "Hi Zachary, I am sorry for this incident on your last day, and I did apologize at the time. Despite what you think, I was quite concerned. It appears there was an error, and your late check was entered incorrectly on our system. Yes, the housekeeper should have knocked anyway, and I have discussed this with her. I also talked to her about the sheets. I don't know what you heard my colleague and I discussing so I won't comment on that too much. We have a lot of ups and downs in our working life, but we wouldn't typically speak poorly about people, we try to find solutions to the challenges. If you feel that I didn't show kindness toward you during your stay, I apologize. It is not how I would like to come across. I will pause and reflect on that, and make sure my being busy isn't getting in the way of looking after guests. Thank you for your feedback, even if it is hard to hear. Once again, I am sorry for any stress or inconvenience. Kind regards, Alison | Guest Services Manager, Heart Hotel and Gallery Whitsundays" Please check your spam box as I have tried to reach out to you for over two weeks now since this incident. feedback@athotelgroup.com Best wishes, Sarah | Guest Experience

On the positive side, the soundproofing in the rooms is excellent. Our village view room had a great view of Magnums pub/club, and when sat on the (small) balcony we were ‘entertained’ by loud music and shouting. However, once inside there was silence.
The location is good.
.
They also claim to offer free wifi, but that is limited to 2 hours.
Car parking is an issue. The hotel does not have a car park, so one has to park in the unsecured council, car park, at a cost of $12. The hotel offers no discount on this, or part payment, as is normal,in other hotels with no parking.

The room itself was tiny. I mean seriously too small for two people.
The walls were very grubby and are in need of painting. One light switch has the cover missing. There was dust in a lot of places.
There was a smell of cleaning product, which did not go away even after opening the balcony door.
There is only 1 small bedside table, which is filled with a Bose device.
There is no headboard.
There is no mirror in the bedroom.

They say that they are a 5 star hotel. I think that this is a bit of a stretch. In my view, 3 is closer.

We would not stay again, nor would we recommend this place to others.
There are better hotels in Airlie.

Thank you GS for taking the time to leave your feedback. We appreciate the above comments so that we can better our product and guest experience. The council car park is secure under the watchful eye of multiple cameras. This carpark is extremely convenient with no height or length restrictions. We find most of our guests don't have a car as they are in transit to or from the Islands. They all love our boutique hotel in the "Heart" of Airlie Beach's dining and entertainment precinct. How good is it having a Bose speaker to bluetooth with? While enjoying a Nespresso.... Happy travels. Kindest regards, Sarah | Guest Experience at the atHotelgroup.com

had a fantastic experience staying at this hotel for one night in October. The location is perfect—right across from the beach , with a beautiful swimming pool right in front, and a lovely public beach just steps away. All the restaurants you could want are within a short walk, making everything incredibly convenient.

A special mention goes to Dean at reception! He was exceptionally helpful and friendly, providing us with great recommendations on places to visit and eat nearby. His advice really enhanced our stay, and he made us feel warmly welcomed. For anyone looking for a well-located, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay, I highly recommend this hotel!"

Very small rooms, not matching the photo on the website for booking. The walls were very damaged and in desperate need of painting. The bathroom grouting needs a good clean. Rail, chairs and table on patio were so dirty you had to be careful not to get your clothes near them. Requested a clean of patio furniture, but it did not happen. Debris on carpet, clearly not vacuumed. Foods spills (tomato sauce?) in big patch in hallway outside room 103. Flat surfaces and skirting boards in rooms were filthy. Bed not made or even attempted to be smoothed out by housekeeping.
The state of rooms was very much at odds with the obviously expensive fixtures and fittings, e.g. BOSE sound systems, top of the range Nespresso machine, Big Ass ceiling fans and expensive curtains. The bathrooms had a rain shower and had had l’Occitane toiletries at some point from the left over shower cap boxes. Loads of marble in the foyer and a huge round marble table in the vast space outside our room. A table in need of a big vase of tropical flowers but covered in piles of towels.
It is a beautiful building with premium inclusions but very run down and has built up grime. I was also noisy. We had one room with double glazing and one without. Double glazing in all rooms would be helpful.
Reception hours ended at 6pm. From a security perspective the front door was open all day and night although it did appear to have a swipe card entry system. The door could not be closed fully. I couldn’t understand why.
The front desk staff were pleasant.
The Deck restaurant was fabulous- great staff and food.
I am puzzled by the hotel overall.

All of us are very proud of our small boutique, high end quality, centrally located property. I'm sorry a pile of clean towels during the daily room services was an eye saw for you. We can look into getting some flowers as per your suggestion. So glad you found our staff to be pleasant who are available 8-6pm daily for assistance. Heart Hotel is situated right in the “heart” of Airlie Beach and is a good choice if you want to be close to everything. Right behind the hotel is the Airlie Beach lagoon & a Council car park (paid) which I used and there are restaurants, cafes, tour agencies & retail shops galore nearby. The hotel room was small but modern & clean and mine was right on the end next to the creek/Beach Walk and it did get noisy as Magnum’s Backpacker bar is just across the road. The view of the Main Street was great though. The gallery is worth a quick look while you are there. The room had in-house movies on demand to choose from - I watched ‘Let Them All Talk’ with Meryl Streep (it took me a while to figure the system out). Downstairs there is The Deck restaurant where I ordered a pizza for lunch one day & I had a few walks/swims at the lagoon.

Unfortunately I had made the mistake of paying for four nights. It would have been OK for one night but was not my idea of a relaxing place to stay. We had booked a room advertised to be the waterview, but the reality was a view of a carpark with the water only in the distance. Every morning a truck from the Whitsunday council would come and wake us up as it sucked up the debris in the carpark. This happened one morning as early as 5.30am. The airconditioner was set at one level and the only way to control it was by opening the balcony door which invited more noise from outside. The mattress seemed lumpy and uncomfortable. The "Premium Service" at reception was open from 8am to 6pm. I would have expected them to be available a bit later than this, especially during peak season.
The only pros of the place was it was in a central location close to the lagoon and restaraunts, but perhaps too central for my liking. Not ideal for honeymmooners. The coffee machine was useful too.

Stayed here a few time, room this trip was a lot larger. 2nd floor, corner room facing car park. Front Office staff, handyman and ladies who clean rooms were all very friendly and professional. Only issue is lack of security. There's no one manning the desk at night, if guests need something there is a call out fee. Front doors to main street are open, no card needed. No security for lift. Anyone can walk in. We had to leave early and found a random guy sleeping on the lounge in the foyer who quickly woke and bolted.

I'm assuming that you're referring to Heart Hotel & Gallery Whitsundays? I have no affiliation with the hotel. I do not work for them. I am not paid by them. I merely stayed there whilst on holidays in Airlie Beach, as it was booked via Qantas Hotels. I'm also not affiliated with Qantas. It's so easy to leave a negative review on social media, and platforms such as Tripadvisor, but given that I didn't actually *have* a negative experience during my stay (apart from not being able to get a plug for the bathroom sink - but even then, if that's the 'worst' of it, then the rest of it was pretty fantastic!). I believe in giving credit where credit is due, and I had a great experience at this hotel. Additionally, considering that the business is just under 12-months old, and the entire region is still in the process of recovering from the Hurricane, I also want to do my part to support local business within the community. As everybody else should be wanting to do, to actively promote business and encourage more tourism to the area. It's unfortunate that you clearly don't feel the same way.
