We paid over $600 per night for a two-bedroom apartment. We arrived at 3pm and were advised that our room had not yet been cleaned and wasn't ready for check-in (even though check-in is advertised as 2pm). I was told someone would call to let us know when it was ready. We went into town to meet family and had to call back myself over an hour later to be told it was ready, but that we had to be back at the hotel by 5pm if we wanted the keys, as reception closed at that time. The room was large and great views, but very outdated and not overly clean. There were finger prints all over the cupboards, windows were dirty, a moth flew out of the cupboard when I opened it. The pool area was very nice, also dirty though, the adjoining bathroom was awful. There are no restaurants or bars open on-site. I understand staff shortages are currently an issue and could accept that if the price reflected the standard of accommodation and service received.

If your 18 to 35 and love to party and can fit 8 people into your room then this place is for you. Paid at lot for this family holiday, great apartments, views and pools. But apart from 1 night it was like an expensive backpackers, if you book rooms with groups of single males then that's what will happen. It's a great shame as it can be a top spot, I will not be back and advise family's not to come.

No doubt about it, the view from our 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor was absolutely stunning. A great location for easy walking in and around Airlie Beach esplanade. We were able to watch the New Years fireworks on the esplanade at 8:30pm and then again at midnight from our balcony - absolutely gorgeous! I understand that Covid was beginning to spread again and that some shops and restaurants in Airlie had to run on minimal staff or shut down completely - perhaps it was because of this that the resort cafe was closed and the reception service was only minimal. For the money we paid, I was expecting resort level service - not only a stunning view. The building is needing some TLC and there were some minor things missing from our apartment (clothes drying rack, bottle opener, doonas/ warm bedding for 2 of the beds). The pools were amazing - our boys loved the hot tub (although the bubble jets didn’t always work). For the money, I wouldn’t look to stay here again. I’ve stayed

we stayed 3 days at Waters edge resort, Airlie Beach. No wifi provided and reported day 1 itself and no response from admins for 3 days.. the apartment was not fully cleaned. Admins office closed afternoon every day and no one to contact afterwards except emergency for a resort.. what an irony 😳 think twice before you book this place

Avoid room 46 if possible. We booked a 3 bedroom unit, but the aircon in one of the bedrooms wasn’t working and there was no ceiling fan. Apparently there had been issues with the aircon for previous customers, but nothing was found to be wrong with it. Seriously! The staff did bring up a portable air con unit, but it didn’t work either. Therefore, our daughters couldn’t sleep in that room the entire 4 night stay. So, paying $2K for 4 nights for a 2 bed unit was absurd. Also, the floors of the unit were filthy - your feet were blackened just by walking around the unit, so we all ended up wearing thongs inside the whole time. And to top it off, we couldn’t even mop the floor ourselves because there was no mop. We did ask for one, but never received one. The curtains in the main area were stained with blood or chocolate milkshake?? There was dust everywhere and hair on the couch cushions. To say the apartment was cleaned is a joke. I have never stayed in a dirtier apartment. Normally, great views would overshadow a dated apartment, however the uncleanliness of this apartment, the lack of working aircon and only 1 television (for a 3 bed apartment) was ridiculous and definitely not worth the money we paid. Never again!
