This is certainly an apart-hotel.

The apartment we had was large, clean, spacious with good amenities including a washer and drier. We also had provisions for tea and coffee. The Woolworths is around 10 minutes from the property at the bottom of the hill so reasonably easy to get groceries.
The infinity pool was great and relatively quiet or empty each time we used it. The gym was small but had enough for what you need.
The apartment has relatively strict rules so you’ll need to keep things clean and ensure you take your own rubbish out and not lose your keys ($200 fine). Seems investing in key cards might not be a bad idea for the future?
The staff are polite and helpful and replenished our room on request (you only get actual housekeeping for 5 nights or more). The hotel were also very helpful in helping arrange transfers for $35pp to the airport which is the going general rate. If you need anything during the day, make sure it’s been 9-5pm as reception has specific hours. Our only gripe was the gentlemen on the last day in the buggy could have actually helped with our bags rather than watch us struggle to put them on and take them off. This was a minor issue overall.

Overall, we had an excellent stay here and would recommend this if you are considering.

One point to note, for the views the review aren’t kidding that the hills are steep. If you have small children or mobility issues, consider investing in a hire car or taxis. They are around $7 one way from the taxi rank at the Main Street and do drop you to your door (the steepest hills are from the driveway at the entrance to the actual apartments). The app is 13cabs and makes life easier as you can pin your exact location and reduce your waiting time.

Thank you for your review and we appreciate constructive feedback. We are self catering accommodation which you have described brilliantly. The apartments provide a home away from home and with Woolworths only a short distance away you can stock the fridge with as much or little as you like. We thank you for your recommendation and hope that we can welcome you back again in the future.

We stayed for 5 nights. Views were spectacular. On arrival Management drove us and our luggage up to our unit number 27 which was at the very top of the steep drive, and our door was down two flights of stairs. Know your physical limits with this one.

Returning to our unit each day, Taxis are freely available from the Taxi rank on the Main Street and they will take you to the top of the driveway. Prices ranging from $5-$8 The driveway is very steep so please be careful when walking up or down as it is slippery when wet.

Our unit was well appointed with tea, coffee etc in the kitchen with the appropriate utensils for cooking and toiletries in the bathrooms.

Infinity pool has stunning views also and used multiple times.

Recommend to others.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. Being located at the top of the hill does allow us to obtain those spectacular Coral Sea Views. Our staff are happy to assist with luggage to and from the apartment when arriving and departing. Pleased to hear you enjoyed our iconic pool. We hope if you choose to the Whitsundays again we can welcome you back to Pinnacles Resort.

Our stay at Pinnacles is about to come to an end…and I’m devestated!

Big shout out to Therese in the front office who helped us through some tough weeks of will we get there will we not due to lockdowns and kept us informed the whole time.

We decided to do a couples get away and from the moment we arrived it’s been perfect. As we arrived at Proserpine in the evening the reception staff texted us to let us know the keys would be in a key safe and provide great direction to their location.

We arrived safely and our deluxe sea view apartment was just lovely! A welcome platter of cheese and nibbles was provided which was such a lovely touch and meant we were able to relax after our trip.

The appartments is beautifully set up, spacious and with most everything you need to enjoy your time here. We opted for the one bedroom but our appartments had the option of two bedrooms and with the biggest balcony, there would have been tons of room for two couples or a family of four.

It is a home away from home but with stunning sea breezes and vista. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for simple meals like pasta and steak and a toaster, kettle and pod coffee machine were also available. The private jacuzzi on the balcony was well used and heated to a lovely 35 degrees…perfect for sunset gazing and champers! The balcony also has sun loungers, rockers and outdoor daybed for relaxing and reading your favourite book!

The pool is a stunning feature! Heated and with views to die for. We used it every day and it was a highlight!

Reviewers have mentioned no bar or restaurant but truly why would you need one when Main Street is minutes away with everything you need. The peacefulness of no loud bars or restaurants is what makes this location so amazing!

There is a washing machine and dishwasher too ( no drier though) so long stays are super comfortable.

Yes the drive way is steep and if you are not fit or used to hill climbs then a car is recommended, however the front office staff are happy to buggy you up the hill if you ask kindly amd most tacos will get you up here for $8-10 a trip.

We have loved our stay so much they we have rebooked for next year with the whole family to return!!

We can’t wait to return to celebrate a 50th and 60th birthday at Pinnacles and know our family will love it as much as we have!

Thank you Alex, it was so lovely to finally meet you after the phone conversations. You were determined to get here, changing flights to avoid areas closed out to Queensland and I am so pleased after all that hard work it paid off and you had a fantastic time with us. We look forward to seeing you again next year and meeting the rest of the family.

We have only just left Pinnacles and it was the most awesome place to stay. We were lucky enough to get apartment 24 which is right up the top and as soon as you walk out onto the balcony, the views are jaw-dropping. Its great waking up to that view every morning. The apartment has everything you need. The balcony is huge and has a jacuzzi on it if you are into that. We had a car so didn’t need to drag ourselves up the hill all the time (it is a big hill). I do not have a bad word for this place. Comfortable beds and pillows, seperate toilets (a rarity in apartments these days), plenty of towels supplied and even a coffee maker is supplied with a few pods. We have already booked our 2022 stay here. We really do love the place. Can’t wait until our next visit!!

Pinnacle Resort was a great choice to stay. We had a two bedroom unit with outdoors spa. The unit design was very practical with a bedroom at either end with the kitchen and living room between. The views over the water were nice and there was a nice welcome platter waiting in the fridge. The staff were very friendly and pre-booked our airport transport prior to our arrival. They also drove us from our unit down the driveway to meet our outgoing airport transfer at 6.20am.
(NOTE) Due to the location of the complex on the side of a mountain you will need to be very fit just to walk up and down the driveway plus there is also a steep road to take to get to the driveway. We had to hire a car primarily to get to the unit at the top of the complex. You also have the option of taking a taxi as the average fare is for only 500 metres due to everything being on hillsides. There are no Uber services in Airlie Beach. The Spa on the patio was fantastic in the evenings.
I highly recommend this complex and you won’t be disappointed. Pricing is also reasonable.

The infinity pool & private balcony spa & views drew me to this place. The room, views, facilities, spa, infinity pool did not disappoint. I give it 10/10 but one little tip ( if you think the hill to reception was an effort to walk - from reception to our room it’s even steeper) but you can easily catch a cab from the cab rank up to the top. We were in room 27 which is right at the top We walked down daily & caught the cab up costing us $7.20 to get us back to the top ( the cabbies certainly make a few trips up there daily for other guests) But yes we made an effort to tackle that hill at least once ! Woolworths & BWS located just at the bottom of hill & every thing is really within walking distance. Don’t let the hill deter you cos the room, view, facilities & infinity pool are 10/10 I’d definitely stay again if In back in Airlie

We stayed here for a long weekend getaway and had a lovely relaxing time, sitting on the balcony looking at the amazing views of Airlie and the islands. The location is perfect, the apartment we stayed was of a good size and well appointed, not that we did much cooking. It was also nice siting in the hot tub, though this could have been hotter. Only one draw back with the views is getting back up to the resort. Whilst it is only a short 5 minute walk into Airlie beach but the walk back is not for the faint hearted, so we took to taking taxis back to our unit and $7 is cost was well worth it. Also the resort staff we very friendly. All in all it was a perfect getaway.

My husband and I spent three fabulous nights at Pinnacles Resort while staying in Airlie Beach. The location was great - at the top of a hill so we had a picture perfect view of the town, marina and beach from our room and were away from the noise main strip which was just a short walk away in any case. Our unit was so lush - clean, spacious, nicely furnished, comfy bed. I loved the special touch with the welcome drinks, fancy cheese and crackers in the fridge! Staff were super pleasant on check in and check out. Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Airlie Beach!

Pinnacles is not a resort. No bar or restaurant. It is self contained apartments. Most have lovely views. There was limited kitchen items for cooking. The apartments were spacious. There was a small tv with only free to air stations. As they are privately owned what was contained in each apartment varies. Some had clothes dryers some didn’t . The beds were comfortable however they could invest in some quality pillows
The infinity pool is lovely and probably the best feature, however it is small and only has approx 10 sun lounges insufficient for the number of apartments on site.
Pinnacles is set on a high hill. Once you walk up the steep hill to reception at the front the driveway is steeper again to reach most apartments. Only the young and very fit could walk from town up to their apartment. This means whenever you went into Airlie beach (which was an easy walk down) you required a taxi to take you back and up the driveway. Taxis although inexpensive $8-10 they were not always available.
On arrival your luggage is driven up from reception to the nearest car park area to your apartment. In most cases you need to be able to manage your luggage up or down stairs yourself. Staff will not carry any luggage. The same when you leave. Not an easy task for mature age people.
The reason for the poor rating is the rude and officious management. When a misunderstanding occurred and I sought clarification, the manager would not afford me the courtesy of returning my phone calls and resorted to curt and rude text messaging. The reception staff were however lovely.
Although nice apartment, there are other places in Airlie beach to stay offering amazing views and sunsets. It is definitely not 5 star luxury

Hi Christine, thank you for your review as this allows us to repair/rectify any areas that may be lacking in any department. You are correct, we are self contained accommodation providing a 'home away from home' experience with full kitchen facilities and amazing views of the Coral Sea. This is different from a 5 star hotel. All of the basic kitchen utensils are provided however we would encourage guests if requiring something specific to please advise reception as we are only too happy to try and assist where possible. All apartments have washing machines and clothes airers. We do have a communal dryer on site and available for guest use complimentary. We are in the process of removing dryers for safety reasons. Communal dryers will allow our staff to ensure that lint filters are cleaned to avoid any incidents. We apologise if you felt that you were not responded to. Our office closes at 3pm on Saturdays and re-opens at 9am Sundays and I can see that a response was sent at 9.30am Sunday morning when we re-opened. Our nitel service is available outside of office hours to provide assistance or contact management in the event of any urgent matter or emergency. We are pleased you enjoyed the views and pool and hope you were happy with our staff members assisting you on departure to your next Airlie beach destination. Once again we appreciate all comments as this allows us to review and improve where necessary.

Our group recently booked 4 apartments at this resort for my daughters 21st.

Our rooms were great and the views are to die for, cannot say enough about them, We had a two bedroom penthouse, top floor and it was spectacular.

Apartments are very clean and tidy, good furniture inside and out, cannot fault one bit of it. Have everything you need so no complaints our end.

A major issue for most guests is getting to top of hill where apartments are located as it is very steep. If you get driven by staff perfect but remember that is only upon check in. If you go down the street or on tours, catch a taxi back or get bus to drive you to the apartment, all of them are accommodating around this and know the resort. $8 taxi ride from down town but worth every cent.

My daughter and her partner had a retreat suite which was nice but they had caught other guests coming out of their jacuzzi. If your Jacuzzi is outside your room then it should have a padlock or pincode for that room only not just anybody to walk into.

Infinity pool was lovely with great views.

Main issue we had was the staff. Upon check in we were greeted by a older lady who was very unwelcoming and not what you would expect when you arrive for a enjoyable time away with your families and friends. Us men walked in to do the paperwork and were greeted by this sour lady who asked if it was a males only weekend and she wouldn't tolerate it as had previous issues. We stated we are a group of 11 and they were aware of that its was our daughters 21st. Very unpleasant lady and must say one of worst I have come across at any places I have stayed at. I am nearly 50 been to many places around the world but this lady should not be on reception. Other blokes said the same. Also spoke to other people at resort who felt the same.

The cleaning staff are very sad and miserable and wouldn't even acknowledge you when you tried to acknowledge them. It that learnt behaviour from management or just unhappy staff?

The young lady upon check out was beautiful and friendly and she should be the person who welcomes and sees off guests , very pleasant and lovely personality thank you

In saying above if I did return to Airlie I would still stay at this property.

Thank you Andrew for taking the time to write a review. We are pleased to hear that you were happy with your accommodation - you had booked a couple of different room types and the best way back up from town if you don't wish to walk is by taxi so great tip for future visitors to Pinnacles. We appreciate your constructive feedback in regards to the retreat suite jacuzzi. We were not aware of this and definately something that will be considered. This is the only apartment with a separate private jacuzzi area. We apologise your check-in was not a pleasant experience for you and this will be addressed and further training provided by management. We do hope to welcome you back to Pinnacles again in the future and we hope your daughter has wonderful memories of her 21st in Airlie Beach.
