I stayed at another hotel in Airlie beach see the review, and the differences were noticeable. The Shingley is a individual owned 30-40 room location right on the beach 100 yards from the marina. The check-in people and everyone else in the organization's just pleasant, nice and make you feel welcome. There are tons of tiny little touches from cookies to milk in the refrigerator to other things that make it a great four star location. The restaurant is run by a separate company and only open till 2:00 p.m. so having dinner especially on a Monday night is a challenge without a car. Other than that the rooms are spotless most of them overlook the water and the harbor, most are set up like traditional kitchenettes with all the appliances you would need for a longer-term stay. This is definitely a place that family could say in for a week save some money with the kitchen have a relaxing time swim in a medium size pool I feel like it was a good vacation.

After reading some of the other recent reviews on this resort before posting my own, I have to strongly disagree with those who have said anything negative about it. This place is one of the most beautiful and cleanest places we have stayed in so far and have been travelling Australia (with great difficulty since covid, however managed to slowly get around!) for the past 3 years. After staying in many many places across Australia, Shingley Beach resort has by far been one of the most cleanest and quaint little home away from home with the bonus of it being in paradise! The staff were more than helpful and friendly and our room felt more like home rather than a posh upper class snobs resort😊 Gorgeous little animal towels placed on our bed upon arrival to set the theme being across the road (literally) from the beach, and even our toilet paper was in the shape of a boat!!
This resort I believe has been there for some time and have been informed was one of the first around in Airlie, so obviously the rooms are not ones which are brand new or even relatively new, therefore we weren’t afraid to use the kitchen or sit on the couch to eat or in general be wary of touching anything.
As for those who have given a negative review about the cleanliness of the place I strongly disagree. There are a few chips in the tiles (from age) and water marks on the shower windows yes however you can see as well as smell upon entry that they have been thoroughly cleaned and cared for. Great work to those in charge of these rooms! Highly recommended! 5 out of 5!

Great service from reception upon arrival, room was ckean, with great views as well, this establishment offers pet friendly accomodation but enquire when making booking, there is a great caffe on site with huge servings at very reasonable prices, two pools and one offering a pool spa combination. Undercover parking is available also.
Upper levels are accesible via stairs only no lifts or elevators so make sure to request ground level rooms if mobility is an issue.

Shingley beach resort is in a fantastic location very close to the Abell Point Marina which is where most of the day tours depart from . There was also a couple of fabulous reasonably priced restaurants and cafes at the Marina which are only 5 to 10 minutes from the apartments depending on which one you go to.
We had a large one bedroom apartment overlooking the pool and the Marina. The room was comfortable although a little dated in the decor and the furniture and fittings. It had a reasonable standard of cleanliness . Nice touch when we arrived was a welcome note and a nice little Frangipani on the bed cover. Wifi was included as we booked direct. Best place to access it or your local phone provider was on the balcony.
The aircon in our room worked well and it was needed in the humidity. The staff were friendly and helpful .
The front pool was large and inviting and the smaller pool at the back was also nice. We walked into town every day which was about 20 minutes. You can pick up supplies there or get delivery of essentials.
There is also a kayak and SUP hire across the road and one day we hired a kayak and had a little paddle out and managed to spot some turtles 🐢.
The on-site Rainbow cafe is a fabulous place to have a drink, a coffee or a meal. It is open for breakfast and lunch.
Overall we had a great stay and we were blessed with fantastic weather the whole week despite venturing there in the wet season (March).

This hotel has great facilities and is in a great location, the room was great and even before I arrived I was impressed with the service when I emailed them to book an airport transfer. The staff were very friendly and helpful before I arrived and asked me to provide my flight details and how to get the key from the safe as I arrived after the office had closed.
The room was really nice and had a great view of the marina, the hotel is only a short walk from the centre of town and a quick walk to the marina and boathouse. Styaed here for 3 nights and the restaurant here offers a decent selection of food for breakfast.
The only thing that wasn't that great about the hotel was that the aircon wasn't working properly but the fan over the bed was good enough to cool the room down at night.

My stay of 11 nights was fantastic! The ocean view studio was spacious, well appointed, clean with a fantastic view of the Coral Sea - just perfect 😃 with 2 pools to choose from and The Rainbow Cafe on site, it was tempting not to go out! With friendly and phenomenal service from the staff always with a smile to look after your needs and organise everything from car hire to day trips to the Reef made Shingley Beach Resort an easy way to holiday. A leisurely 15 minute walk into Airlie Beach via the boardwalk is close enough to be enjoyable with so much to see along the way. Definitely a slice of paradise to return to again.

20-25 minute walk to The Lagoon and Airlie Beach main drag along coastline board walk and through the Coral Seas Marina complex. Rainbow Complex opens from 7:30am - 2pm, so I did a bit of walking to explore venues. Closest are the Garden Bar (10mins walk) and Sorrento (14mins walk). Shingley Beach has kayaks and paddle boards for hire plus nice shady trees if you want to chill. I stayed in 2 different rooms; both with nice views, are pleasant, clean and comfortable with two pools albeit one of the roof gardens seem in disrepair. Overall good stay for the price.

We booked 5 months ahead and really looked forward to the 4-days stay. But it has been an absolute nightmare to be staying at the resort. We got a room in the first floor right at the pool. People at the pool could look right into our bedroom and the noise from the people at the pool went right into our apartment = very noisy. talked to the manager twice about us being placed at the wrong apartment, but he explained that everything was full and there was nothing to do. And we would have to understand that a luxury apartment was placed at the pool. That info was nowhere to be found before arriving and we are SO dissapointed with this place. We booked 5 months ahead to get a nice room and placement, but we got the worst room at the whole resort. Sorry to say but we will not be back another time. Dont book a luxury apartment unless you want to share it with all the people at the pool.

Hi Henrick, Apologies regarding the noise at the pool, when you mentioned the noise it was 2pm in the afternoon on Christmas day so we did have a lot of families & children enjoying the pool deck during this busy time. The manager was unable to relocate you to a quieter area at the time due to having a full house heavily booked over Christmas. This was an unfortunate occurrence due to a very busy time, we would usually relocate our guests to a quieter apartment away from the pool on request if possible. The Body Corporate has after-hours security to enforce noise Bi Laws after 10pm, and the pool should of been closed at 10pm, we will follow this event up with them to ensure peace and quiet for all guests in the future over busy holiday periods.

For what we paid per night, Shingley Beach Resort provided an acceptable standard of accommodation. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area at night and the views of the marina from our balcony were lovely. Only minor issue we had was the parking, the garage we were assigned was too difficult to get into with our wagon so we had to use the visitor parks, which a lot of others did also, at times we were unable to park up top near our room. Small cars would have no issues. Aside from that we had no problems, two pools to choose from, an amazing cafe downstairs with delicious coffee and homemade croissants and a handy kitchenette with washing machine and dryer in our room. I had read reviews mentioning the stairs and its true, we did encounter many during our stay but it probably did us some good.

We stayed at Shingley beach resort over Christmas in the one bedroom apartment. We have stayed here before in the 3 bedroom apartment.
The rooms are large and have the most amazing views over the Marina and Shingley beach. The Beds are comfortable and the apartments have everything you will need to be self catering.
If you don't want to self cater the restaurant on site has incredible well priced food and drinks. This resort is just a short stroll into Airlie Beach along the beautiful boardwalk.
It has 2 pools and undercover parking.
It is very quiet with very little street or town noise as it is on a dead end street, the loudest noise you will here is the friendly cockatoos flying overhead.
The Management and staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to ensure your holiday and stay is a memorable one.
The only thing you need to be aware of is they do not have a lift so there are stairs to climb, but the good thing about that is if you overindulge - which is easy to do in Airlie Beach- you can take some satisfaction knowing you are doing some extra exercise.

Good morning, you are best to enquire about a late checkout when you arrive. If your apartment is not booked upon your departure, we are able to extend your check out time.. if however there is another booking that comes in for the apartment, we would be unable to grant the extension.
