The walk up to Resort is steep, so be prepared especially in the heat, There is an airport bus that drops you at the entrance to resort. We were on the 3rd floor so i think 32 steps to climb, and i don't think there are any lifts to use as i didn't see any I have bad knees so wasn't great for me but i liked the exercise, The room was average the fan was falling out of the ceiling, but the staff were fast at having it changed that day, It's the cheapest resort around, Ive heard, but needs a lot of renovation, There is a kitchenette, in the room and does have cooking facilities, just a kettle, and microwave. Bar is not part of the resort it's owned by someone else but the meals are great, pool n spa are great Washing you need to go down another 3 parts stairs, which is to the bottom level of hotel you need coins for washing We hired a car and at times we had to park in the street, due to being to many guest or people parking in a spot that were not allowed I'm not sure, as for visiting the bar, maybe, View is so breathtaking, watch out for the cocky's they can bite as i got bitten, they expect food all the time. Over all i don't think i would stay here again, just need so much renovations, but the staff are lovely. Its close to the main street, which has great shopping, Safeways which is at the end of the street. i loved Airleys Beach, its beautiful, but very muggy in March.

The rooms are spacious with a view of the ocean. The reception is very friendly but only open during the day. Wifi is only around the pool and restaurant. For accessibility, it can be complicated, because it is located a little high up, which is good for the view, but not for the legs. Going down to the restaurants is easy, going back up is more complicated if you're not in great shape. cleanliness leaves something to be desired. The carpet is no longer very young and deserves a detour to the recycling center. It's a shame because there is potential. The bedding has lived…. The terrace is large and some rooms are interconnecting. But to spend 2/3 days it’s okay. In short, it’s average…

We stayed at WTerraces for a few days. I’m in my mid 40s and son in early 20s and both love a party but also value our sleep, peaceful environment, good views and being close enough to walk around.. So after reading a bunch of reviews of different places and speaking to Tina at Whitsunday Bookings (fantastic travel agent in Airlie!!), who organised the room for us, we chose the Terraces and were very very happy!
Tina is an absolute GEM, also organised a Day Boat trip with Bullet and JetSki tour - she was a one stop shop for a great short stay. Look her up at Whitsunday Bookings. And thanks terraces for a good renovated apartment away from the hustle and bustle or the party central but still close enough to enjoy it when we wanted to!!
Airlie.. we’ll be back!

Summary: disappointing. Firstly, don't come here for peace and tranquillity. The loud, raucous bar next to the main pool will kill that possibility from noon till night, 4/7 days. For the other 3, there's no food or drinks service on-site - not even a vending machine. Shop ahead or be ready to plod up and down the steep street into town in hot, humid weather.
There are two pools - medium and small. They represent the best part of the hotel but both lack sufficient shade and the smaller one has very little furniture (see photo) - arrive early to ensure a spot at either. There are no lounge or chair cushions anywhere (how cheap?) meaning you won't stay comfortable for very long. Perhaps that's the intention...
The only (erratic) wi-fi is at or close to reception - a long walk and stair climb away from most rooms. This will be a serious inconvenience to anyone seeking ongoing, reliable connectivity (everyone?). Rooms are light and spacious with great views, but are under-equipped for self-catering (see photo of cooking utensils). If you need more toilet paper than your ration, you have to buy these at reception!
As a gay man, I don't see this as an LGBTIQA+ friendly venue. My husband and I felt intimidated whilst using the main pool due to hostile staring from local straight men at the adjacent bar who had been drinking solidly. The bar (at the centre of the resort) is run independently as much for the benefit of locals as residents.
Most properties in Airlie Beach have excellent views, many with better facilities and/or at more competitive prices (I paid well over $,2000/p.w. for average facilities here). Shop around - you can do better than Whitsunday Terraces 'Resort'.

I rarely write reviews, but having read some of the reviews here I had to! Our room was excellent, huge! Massive balcony with commanding sea views. Our own washing machine was very useful when travelling a long time, a few moans were made about the hill up to the resort..... It's 50 metres!!!! Reception manager could not have been more helpful, woolworths across the road was handy for groceries too so we had breakfast on our balcony nearly every day.
I totally recommend staying here.
Thanks to all at WTR.

Our family stayed at the Whitsunday Terraces in a 1 bedroom apartment for 3 nights. The location is great, only a short stroll to the centre of Airlie if you don’t mind walking the hill back to your room. The attendant at reception was friendly. We were able to park at the facility and my husband who also brought his car could park easily on the street outside. The water pressure in the shower was great.
We stayed in room 48. The room itself was clean and tidy, yet very outdated with the furniture very worn and the chair at the dining table appearing to be water logged . I read a review regarding ants at the property prior to booking however assumed this would be rectified. Unfortunately it was not. I was greeted by a train of ants from the balcony, across in living room wall and through the kitchen. I found a insect spray in the cupboard and used this to no avail. We also have a 4 month old baby and spraying this constantly was not okay. The ants were through the carpet, on our bedding and went into our suitcase. I woke to ants crawling on me during the night. On our second night they made it into the bathroom. The tiles in the bathroom were falling off the wall. There was huge amounts of what I assume to be dust in the curtains. Every time we brushed up against them we would literally be coated in a cream powder. The carpets were stained, thankfully we brought a play mat.
A few touch ups and this place would be great but for now, we would not stay again.

Whitsunday Terraces is in a great location with great views. There is a small incline from the Main Road to the Resort, but would be doable to the majority of guests. Taxis are readily available if you cannot manage this. There are 2 swimming pools and a great Restaurant that is open 3 nights per week. Michele (on-site Manager) was more than helpful suggesting tourist attractions and booking our tours. Highly recommend.

The best place to stay when in Airlie Beach for a family. The apartments are a generous size and the views are sensational. The kids love the deep pool perfect for “Marco Polo”😂 and the hot tub to warm up..the adults love the evening drinks on the balcony and the restaurant in the complex for those nights you want to stay on-site and enjoy all the facilities . The management and reception staff are very lovely and so helpful. The short hill walk (50m) is worth it and with Woolworths at the bottom daily grocery shopping is easy peasy.

Me and my family came to stay and we found the standards were not as they were a few years ago…. We attempted to swim in the pool but were told we had to show our room key but my partner had it as he had left to go food shopping so me and the kids could not access the pool. We then had friends come for dinner and wanted to sit down near the pool while we watched the sunset but they were told they were not allowed as they were not guests. We loved coming to stay here when we came to Airlie but I’m so upset and disappointed at how the venue is run now. :(

Stayed 4 nights for a three generations family catch up and loved this place. Room was dated, but clean and well appointed & presented. View from the spacious balcony across Airlie & the Marina was totally stunning. Older people need to keep in mind the steep hill when walking back from town, but you could ask to stay in one of the lower blocks and you’ll still have great views. The Anchor Bar was fantastic. Helpful and friendly staff with great food and very reasonably priced cocktails. Lastly, the management Danny & Michelle was sensational. Very helpful with general information and organised a tour for us as well for pick up from our units They went well above and beyond the call when the local taxi company let a family member down trying to get out to the airport. Can’t thank Danny enough for his help in getting our daughter to the airport in time! We can’t wait to go back!!
