We booked after losing original booking elsewhere due to covid🥴😷 lockdowns in Melbourne 2019. Palm Cove gets booked out quickly. Stayed one night broke up our travel time this was great for us perfect posy great Irish restaurant next door. Had a 2 bed small room but great bathroom huge spa ith a balcony overlooking the pool. Found the stairs a bit of a hard climb with cases. Luckily the manager was there offered to help thankyou so much lovely man. Very quiet place small lip between bedroom to bathroom a bit of a trip hazard but have seen this alot elsewhere. Pool was nice small but enjoyed the atmosphere. The only thing we found if l had to pick was re do the pool floor very rough a bit patchy not a great look, kept scraping on toes ouch!🙄 Nice fountain, spa was up stair well. Under cover secure parking great. We liked thus place was the right price for a comfy stay.

3 days out from staying here I received a phone call saying the rooms I booked were no longer available because they had been sold. Was supposed to be staying from 4th-6th March. Asked if they had anything else available for the 8 adults and 3 infants in our group but was told nothing else was available. I thought they were supposed to honour previous bookings. What I don't understand is why I wasn't given a courtesy call weeks ago warning me about the sale and that the rooms may not be available instead of leaving it until 3 days out. Units etc just don't sell and be finalised overnight. To make matters worse I phoned them a few weeks ago to confirm our booking to be told yes it was fine.
Finding other accommodation for that many people isn't always easy.

Don’t stay there they email you just over one week until you arrive and cancel your accomodation. They don’t even have the decency to phone or help you. All of Palm Cove booked out no where to go..,
I would advise anyone not to trust booking there I booked nearly one year before then they canceled via email with less than 2 weeks to go.

Stayed in 104-2, small ground floor poolside room with no view even of the pool. The toilet was faulty and gurgled noisily 24/7, even with the water turned off. No plumber was available to fix during our weekend stay. The ‘bed’ was actually two singles pushed together with a mattress topper over, so the two beds continually moved apart and you could roll into the dip in the centre. The aformentioned toilet is near the entrance to the room, it has a trip hazard lip as you enter, but the (very nice) bathroom is at the opposite end. The veneer on the bedsides was peeling. Overall, a rather shabby place, in need of refurnishing, and the drains fixing.

We stayed at the Alassio Palm Cove Apartments for a week in June and had a wonderful time. First of all, it is at the quieter end of the beach. The majority of Palm Cove traffic enters at the south side of the Esplanade, passing the rest of the resorts before ending near Alassio. The noisier, livelier, albeit elegant restaurants are also south of Alassio. (However given that most restaurants are within walking distance, this means a mere 15-20 minute stroll to and from dinner.) More impressive, however, were our hosts, Terrie and Ian. They were always helpful, cheerful, and available when we needed them. They arranged last minute trips and rentals, always negotiating deals for us, and even helped with a medical problem we experienced. Whereas when I poked my head into another resort to inquire about services and was received in a tired fashion, our hosts were always cheerful and inviting. They also offered candid advice as to restaurants and other recommendations. And when they did not know, they let us know and called around to find an answer.

This place is more like a condo than a hotel. There was an equipped kitchen, a living area and a patio with a whirpool tub in addition to the standard bedroom and bathroom. The pool was very nice-it even had a waterfall. We were right on the beach and close to dining and shopping without having to be in touristy Cairns. We were also very close to the Karunda train & Skyrail as well as the Aboriginal Park.

We just came back from 2 weeks at the Alassio in Palm Cove, Australia. We had a one bedroom condo with full kitchen and a balcony with a hot tub which suited our needs fine. This is a small place with probably about 25 or so units and there are 3 floors. There is no elevator but that was okay. It is at the quiet end of the Esplanade in walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. The Esplanade itself is beautifully kept and it's a lovely walk under the huge melaluca trees.

Here are my observations: First, the husband and wife that manage the place, Venora and Shane are fabulous. I can't say enough about their willingness to meet our needs. They live on site and are there to address any issues that arise. They have probably a hundred or more brochures of tours to do in the area and know the best ones to book. What I liked a lot was they did all the booking of our day tours and just tacked it on our bill at the end of our stay. I liked not having to deal with the tour companies and the idea of having just the one bill for all our activities. Also, we were picked up right in front of the hotel, which made it nice.

I would highly recommend the following tours: The Cairns Tropical Zoo is small but has all of the interesting animals that are native to Australia. We got our picture taken holding a koala ($15.00AU) and well worth it since it came out nice. Also you can walk right into the kangaroo area and feed them and get some great close up pictures of your interaction with them.

The Skyrail and Train to Kuranda is a must see. If you can't do anything else, try to do this tour. We took the train up and the Skyrail down. The scenery from both vantage points is breathtaking. The town of Kuranda is lovely. I was expecting some tchotchke kind of stores, but there are many nice gift shops and local artisans with great native crafts and gifts. We bought a lot of very nice souvenirs there.

A wonderful trip to the Great Barrier Reef was with the Aristocat. I highly recommend this company. We have been on many snorkel trips like this in the Caribbean, Red Sea, Hawaii, Florida, etc but this was the best we ever encountered. They are a top notch tour company and you won't be disappointed. We went to the Agincourt Ribbon Reefs which are the outer reefs and not crowded.

We also did 2 tours with APT bus company that took us to Daintree, Cape Tribulation and Mossman, and also a trip to the Atherton Tablelands. Again, these were top notch tours arranged right at the Alassio.

I think the room could have been cleaner. It wasn't filthy or anything like that, but I think it needed a good dusting and vacuuming. That is my only complaint about the room. For those intrigued by the hot tub, it was actually more of a "warm tub" since the hotel will not adjust the heat to exceed a certain temperature for legal purposes, but we still enjoyed it a lot after a long day. (people can get burned if the water is too hot, so they keep it warm) The bed was very comfortable and we never heard any noise at night.

If you are a "pool person" this is NOT the place for you. The pool is very small and the pool area not conducive to the idea of lounging around poolside. We knew this before we came but weren't disappointed because we are "beach" people. One day where the waves at the beach were too high to venture into the surf, I did go into the pool and it was fine.

There is a little beach bar/restaurant next door with good food and reasonable prices. There is also a small place in walking distance to get groceries but it is very expensive. ($6.50 for a gallon of water, $8.90 for a box of Special K cereal, etc) so we took the bus to a larger grocery store called Coles where the locals shop. It was a little less expensive, and had more variety to choose from.

Right near the hotel is a huge jetty where people walk, fish and dive off. It is a nice stroll and you can get some great pictures from there.

I would highly recommend the Alassio. It is reasonably priced, run by efficient, friendly people and in a perfect location of Palm Cove.

Horrible Horrible Service.

Charged us $70 extra for cot for the baby and its lucky we checked because no cot was even ready.
Refused late checkout and cleaner came in to our apartment before the checkout time.
Old place. Still has physical keys that get stuck in every door.
No ventilation in bathrooms.

Otherwise fine. Good location. Good BBQ facilities.

I did notice a playground just across the road but as we don’t have small children, we weren’t really paying attention for others. There’s lots to do in the area though so I’m sure you’ll love it if you decide to go!
