To Dempsey and the crew at Berkeley River Lodge a massive thank you for looking after us. One of the best holidays right here in our own state, very high standards and attention to detail made this Kimberly Adventure one we will never forget. Fabulous food, engaging tours and experienced guides and staff to show us this beautiful place. And just when you think this can’t get any better a turtle crawls up the beach at sunset.
Its isolation is what makes it special! Inaccessible by car, no transit tourists, it is remote, rugged and one of the most unique experiences one can have to witness the 1.8 billion year old coast line and outback that is the Kimberley Region of Western Australia. Activities are well organised, the management and staff are exceptional, the food and wine are fantastic. With only 20 villas (40 guests), it is never crowded and everyone has a wonderful experience.
This is an amazing Resort in the most remote part of the Western Australian Kimberley coastline. A very welcomed beer/ bubbly on the runway on our arrival set the scene for a very relaxed time. The river cruise eases you into the unwind on the first day and the other actives scheduled are also easy to do. The Front of House staff are bright, very bubbly and always happy to fill your glass. The Chef, whom my wife put through his paces, was very accommodating of her dietary needs and nothing was a hassle. Spectacular dishes every evening. The sunsets from the Sundowner Drinks location was just spectacular. All in all, a great place to go, relax and enjoy the beautiful Kimberley
What a magnificent location. Make sure it’s on your bucket list. The ultimate way to visit and experience the Kimberley’s! The staff were next level! Thank you so much. We will be back. It you get the chance you must do the Heli Sunset flight.
We had a perfect five days at Berkeley River Lodge. Considering how isolated this place is, the staff, service and facilities we’re all fantastic. The rooms are lovely, simple but stylish, with wonderful outdoor bathrooms. The air conditioning was a welcome reprieve from the daytime heat. The pool offered magnificent views over the Kimberly coast. Dining room and cleaning staff did a wonderful job in spite of obvious staff shortages. We found the range of activities to be just right and the guides were very knowledgeable with casual friendliness. The food was incredible especially considering the isolation and logistical issues. This is a wonderful way to explore the Kimberley coast without paying the exorbitant price required for a Kimberly Cruise. I can highly recommend a stay at the lodge.…
Wow!!!! What an amazing unforgettable experience. Don't think about this, just DO it! Yes, its expensive but after your 5 nights there you will see why? Food top notch!! Staff amazing! Accommodation gorgeous, who does not want to bath under the stars! Tours so much fun and with the scenery set to blow ya mind! And for a bit more you can book yourself onto the helicopter flight for your grand finale! Just book it and go, you can't take your money with you when you leave this earth so spend it in this one!!!
All reports are fabulous about this place, but the reality is even better, if that is possible. From the pilot in , to the greeting from Dempsey, the staff were quite amazing. As with any great holiday, it doesn't matter how fabulous the scenery, the accommodation, the activities are, they are nothing without the staff. And this group are above comparison. Firstly the brilliant chef Amine and his two chefs, so good, to the front of house , just superb hard to single out any, but I will, Mel and Emily, wow , such lovely helpful friendly smiling people, as were Kori, Georgia, then you have the outside staff, Taylor, Matt, Luke, Andy and helicopter pilot Gazza. You made it the best holiday one could have, so many thanks from Di and I, so many. If you can, just get there .
My wife and I stayed at Berkeley River lodge for 5 nights. WOW, what can I say. The hospitality was excellent from the moment we were greeted. Dempsey was there with a glass of bubbles and introduced us to the complex and the area. We were looked after by multiple people, but a big shout out to Georgia and Kori. The Chef, WOW WOW WOW. Amine was absolutely amazing. He was very attentive to everyone. The meals, from breakfast, simple pack lunches, proper lunches and evening meals were stunning. He always went out of his way to talk to you and find out what your really wanted. Great sense of humour. Then there were the tour guides. A big shout out to Andy who had to put up with us for most tours. He really did pull the short straw. He made each and every excursion/activity fully enjoyable. Finally, couldn't have made my wife's birthday lunch andy better than with Maddie who just at the end of the fishing trip, stopped at a great spot for my to catch a Dhufish that the chef then cooked for her birthday lunch. All the staff were absolutely fantastic but I don't have enough space to list them all out. I wish Berkeley River Lodge and their staff all the very best for the rest of the season. And unfortunately, this once in a lifetime holiday must be repeated again sometime in the next few years. I Would highly recommend this amazing place and staff to anyone wanting to go and relax.…
We spent 5 days there & to say it was excellent would be a huge understatement. I have never come across such wonderful staff. They go out of their way to make sure every thing is 100%. Special mention to Mel. OMG She just goes that little bit more to see your happy. The sunset helicopter tour was the highlight for me. But it's hard to choose . So many cool activities. River Cruise, fishing, beach walks Aboriginal rock paintings. Best value holiday I've done for a long time.. Right up there with the Galapagos Islands & half the price. Thanks guys. 😊
Transit from Kununurra to Berkeley river lodge was seamlesss and we were met by one of the many great and hardworking staff that make the stay enjoyable, The tour inclusions were great and we had the most fantastic guide by the name of Bruce who would have to be one of the most entertaining and knowledgeable people at Berkeley, The chef was also outstanding with meals rivalling top Sydney restaurants. You cannot go passed the beauty of the region and the magnificence of the Kimberley. Would definitely return.
