Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This accommodation was in a great location, close in town and walkable to the town centre. However it was very old, and very quiet. Seemed like a ghost town while the other parts of town were pumping. The housekeeping consisted of just pulling our bed covers up, and not putting the pillows from the floor onto the bed, no replacement of anything in the bathroom and no washing of dishes. The restaurant was never open, could not get any lunch or even a drink during the day, to lie by the pool. Yet when we were asked if we could check out late/in early had to pay $50 for late checkout and room not available for early check in, yet the property was extremely quite. One great part was they do have a free airport shuttle and did store our luggage for us while we went off and did a tour for 4 days. The reception area also smelt horrible, like fryer fat in a take away shop. Would not stay again, there is much nicer accommodation to choose from, yes probably pricier but we would pay the price.

The country club is well placed in Kununurra. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were spotlessly clean and the king bed super comfy. Restaurant had good food and good service. Lovely venue overall and would be happy to stay there again next time I am in Kununurra

Whilst Kununurra is replete with lodging options, none of them rise above three stars and the KCC is at the top of the heap. The accommodations are comfortable, the comestibles are wholesome and tasty and you can even get your laundry done if you’ve just arrived off the Gibb River Road. The good: our room (king + single bed) was modern, clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable. Everything expected was there and it mostly worked as expected. The king bed was comfortable, the linens crisp and clean and we were each able to find a favourite pillow. The ensuite bathroom worked well for our needs. The not so good: morning showers contend for what must be limited hot water so get in early or make it quick.

Stayed here for 3 days. Staff very accomodating. Rooms good. Bed was very comfortable. Kelly’s Restaurant is a winner. Restaurant not budget price but food is not budget either. So you get what you pay for. Pretty damn good place to spend a few nights in Kununurra.

An oasis in the North of Western Australia! The hotel staff have been very helpful and pleasant. The rooms are basic, but the meals are value for money! My wife and I have been working our way through the menu during our stay and have really enjoyed what we have had to date! The drinks are reasonably priced and the range of wines is good. We shall return! MikevanD

Great place to stay in the East Kimberley. Staff were very friendly, helpful and provided great service. It's close to the airport and they provide a free shuttle service. Nice central location - walking distance to market, shops, reataurants and pub.

We've stayed at KCC 4 times since 2014 and this was the first time we were given a (king) room in the wings "to the right" (opposite side to the pool). These rooms are accessed via the back work yard (not good) and are very different to the "pool side" rooms. The big plus was the usual ultra friendly and helpful reception. Room basic and clean but dated compared to the "pool" rooms - OK shower, comfy bed but dirty hand towels left on floor after first night. Kelly's restaurant has same menu as years ago - not cheap (altho wines very reasonable) and food is better than average with generous servings.

Very pleasant large, well designed motel room, all the usual amenities as well as breakfast table and chairs and work desk. Good bed, air con and ceiling fan. Set in pleasant gardens, very quiet. Only downside was the shower temperature fluctuated alarmingly from extremely hot to extremely cold, and the car park area was some distance from our room.

We stayed here with 2 other couples and couldn’t believe how amateurish this place is. The two other couples had bad bites from bedbugs and reception didn’t understand that was a problem. After checkout they told us it was fixed they had changed the sheets!! We tried to explain that it needs to be treated. We were waiting for our transfer to the airport but reception was closed so we had to sit out in the 36’ heat. No breakfast available not even a continental in your room. Pool was nice and rooms very basic. The grounds are lovely. Stay somewhere else!!

Response from Marketing Team Kununurra Country Club Resort, Marketing at Kununurra Country Club Resort
Responded 26 Apr 2023
Hi LynetteS418. We’re so sorry to hear that your experience did not meet our standards. We value our guests 'feedback and work hard to ensure that the feedback will be action ASAP. The receptionist reported to the Management straightaway. We closed the rooms after you checked out and arranged Pest Management to check. They checked both rooms but did not find any bedbugs. We still asked them to do treatment to ensure the rooms are under good condition. As it is still low season in Kununurra, the reception only opens half day on weekends. There is a phone outside the reception for the guests to contact our staff on duty. We apologize that you were not aware of the breakfast closure. Our restaurant will be open for both breakfast and dinner from next week. We hope to have the chance to see you in the restaurant when you come to Kununurra next time.

The room had dated furniture and there were chips in the veneer. The wi-fi was atrocious – it took ages to connect and then was incredibly slow to do anything. Three tour groups were in the same dining room which became incredibly noisy, as there was nothing to dampen the sound. It would have been better if the doors were opened onto the deck so some people could move outside but still be close to the buffet. The food was good and even included prawns. There is nothing “country club” about this place: no golf course and no tennis courts. Really, it’s just a very big motel in spacious grounds with a small palm forest and a pool.
