I had so looked forward to Shaam e Sarhad, in the middle of a great trip to Gujarat. It sounds wonderful in theory, but the actual execution was quite different. Perhaps it's seen better days, or is better at the start of the season, but my experience was pretty bad. The food, with few exceptions, was the worst i've eaten...

The whole village type architecture created inside is awesome. The hosts were polite and helpful. The food was awesome. Musical performance and bonfire in the night were simply icing on the cake. Only issue is there is no proper signboard on the road if you are traveling via own vehicle.

This is a resort close to the Rann of Kutch managed by the village community. Accommodation includes mud huts and tents. We stayed in a mud hut which was very charming and comfortable. The bathroom is a separate mud hut in the back, also adequately maintained. Hot water is available only for a few hours in the morning. Meals are...

Expecting five star facilities in the middle of a desert will be stupidity. Keeping that in mind, this resort does a wonderful job to make sure you stay happy, enjoy local hygienic meals and offer a rustic ambience with their restricted resources in a desert environment. We stayed in a Bhunga with an attached bathroom. The hut kept us warm...

26th January long weekend we planned a girls trip (2N/3D) at Kutch and we chose to stay at Sham-e-Sarhad village resort going by good reviews. The resort is a lovely property managed by locals. Our reservations were done through and agent and the local manager told us different rooms against our confirmation through agent.. the local guys (manger) was hardly...

I had a heard a lot about this resort and was keen on seeing it. The place is beautifully done and the tented cottages nicely furnished although one would not dare use the blankets that probably have not been washed or aired since the lodge was built! What a shame. The outside area and restaurant is nicely done and the...

We were a group of 8 women visiting Rann and chose to stay here for a night. We had booked 3 tents and 1 standard Bhunga. Booking procedure is simple and user friendly after signing up on the website. Confirmation is on full payment only. It's a package of 3 meals - lunch, dinner and breakfast on the next day....

This place is out in the middle of the desert in Kutch. The setting is beautiful and run by a community NGO. Kudos for the idea, but the execution was quite simply disappointing. I stayed in a tent for one night and was grateful it was not longer. There was no water in my tent bathroom and despite several requests...

Rural tourism resort Shaam e Sarhad located approx 25 kms before White Sand Rann. A total let down with horrible experience in terms of Stay, Food and hospitality offered by Shaam e Sarhad team. The so called management has lot of attitude problem. Food is disaster, so are the rooms and bathrooms. A very bad stay experience. Please avoid the...
