Really enjoyed my stay. Directions and instructions were clearly provided about accessing the cottage, once I had booked. I really loved my little cottage. Had everything I needed, was clean and comfortable. Thoughtfully and attractively furnished down to the quilt cover featuring birds. Loved the beautiful wood of the interior and the privacy of the cottage - set in bush. Helpful information in the compendium about Mt Glorious Getaways, walks and wildlife. Thank you.

Stayed in Bowerbird for 2 nights, wish it was longer and I wish we had found this place sooner. We happened to be here while the rest of SE Qld was suffering the heatwave. So cool, so peaceful. The Bed was like sleeping on a cloud and beautiful quality linen. Cabin was extremely well equipped and everything was spotless. Check in and out was very easy and directions to the cabin were easy to follow. We cant wait to come back, planning a winter escape next time. Sat on the deck and watched the sun rise, and all We could hear were the sounds of the rainforest waking up, just beautiful, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and was great value for money.

Looking to escape from the city but don't want to travel to far?? Then look no further then this hidden Gem tucked away deep in the Rainforest high on top of the D'Aguilar Range shrouded in a cloudy mist surrounded by an abundance of native wildlife, Perfect eco friendly Log Cabins blending into the surrounding ancient rainforest with everything you need and a special place to unwind and rejuvenate the soul. Take your camera, hiking shoes and a warm jacket. Perfect for the weekend or really indulge for longer. The hosts couldn't be more accommodating nor are they ever intrusive to really give you that sense of getting away to somewhere private and feel like the mountain is yours. Mount Glorious Getaways is truly that ...... absolutely GLORIOUS!
Just do it

Unfortunately would not recommend the homestead. My friend and I stayed with children thinking it would be a lovely stay to get some peace and quiet where the kids could enjoy the gardens and outdoors. Whilst the gardens were lovely and we had some stunning walks the accommodation was sub standard. The homestead is tired. Bathrooms were old and we had black gunk coming from our taps, toilet seat slipped off, mouldy showers. Kitchen well equipped but certainly not private. Whilst the website and booking details state that from time to time there will be cleaners and gardeners that come to an area of the house, the reality is there are many rooms in the house that are one way opening into the house and there was constantly either gardeners or cleaners coming and going. Some windows had no or sheer curtains. Blowers, mowers, hedge trimmers were always background noise during the day. This really bothered us as we were wanting a “getaway” and to enjoy the gardens and quiet. It also concerned us that there were always adults around the house when we have children staying. There was no phone or WiFi. It was intermittent at best and I had to drive to Samford to make an important call. Please also note the photos represented here are not the furniture and layout in the homestead. Only one tv and no beanbags which the kids were disappointed about. The best thing was the fire which was welcome on a particularly cold and windy day. We did walk down to the cottages and they looked nice. Sadly we won’t be recommending the homestead as it was not good value or the experience we booked.

We have over 40 acres of private rainforest & gardens, Keeping it looking lovely is a full time job, mowing, trimming, hedging is all part of it - it’s inevitable you may hear garden or maintenance equipment operating at some stage of your stay, Our Gardener has worked for our business for over 25 years & takes great care to minimize the impact of motorised equipment at critical times. School Holidays are one of our busiest periods – Our Housekeeper would certainly have been hard at work washing, drying , folding etc. during this period…. We understand its not perfect having the laundry in a locked off & private room at the back of the homestead … it is on our Wishlist to separate the laundry … albeit we are a small “mum & dad “ style business & have a very long Wishlist. Our Housekeeper has worked for us for over 10 years & takes great care to be mindful of guests privacy. “Many rooms in the house that are opening one way into the house”:- an office holding the central computer, Homestead Wi-Fi, Foxtel, etc., the Laundry, Three (3) storage/linen cupboards holding spare linen, drinking glasses, cutlery, light bulbs, plates, cups …. It’s a 3 hour round trip into the city, so pays to have spares of most things on-hand…. So yes, I guess another name for a Linen cupboard could be a one way room 😊 Mobile reception:- We are surrounded by Mountains & forest, Telstra mobile network has great coverage & works well – other Providers can unfortunately be hit & miss. WIFI is accessible to all guests from the rotunda area for:- email, Face time calls etc. We have recently replaced the Homestead carpet, re-sealed the kitchen cork tiles, added new lounges , thrown out the old bean bags & de-commissioned the 2nd TV ….. 2nd TV & Play Station 3 have now been re-commissioned, 3 new Floor cushions have been added (no room for bean bags with the new furniture 😊) - we will work on substituting any out of date photos to reflect the Improvements – we appreciate you pointing that out. Toilet seat slipped – they do that - thanks for letting us know – I have requested our maintenance man to replace. Small spots of mould in the shower – mostly this was small pieces of grout missing giving the appearance of mould spots – albeit, Housekeeper is now armed with some extra cleaning equipment – Maintenance man will carry out some repair to grout & silicone Black gunk coming out around the taps – maintenance man has removed the effected tap cover, Tightened the faucet valve & given the inside of the cover a good clean out – didn’t look like it had been apart for some time – again very minor but thanks all the same for pointing that out Homestead dated – Homestead is a mid-1990 build – still all original - if that classifies as being dated, then so be it – Clean, Tidy & functional, Yes. In regards to your comment …. “It also concerned us there where always adults around the house when we have children staying” - I’m not quite sure where you are going with this ? - Whilst we are grateful for constructive criticism, We do not appreciate unwarranted - personal attacks or innuendos in regards to our staff ….. We have many wonderful reviews, & repeat customers but also understand our little piece of paradise is not for everybody, Hopefully, reading a number of our guest reviews will provide a balanced overview for future visitors Love to all ❤ Sincerely Liane & Rollie

I was incredibly lucky to find that my husband had booked a surprise weekend away for our 6th Wedding Anniversary at Mt Glorious Getaways. His requirements was it needed to be within an hour of Brisbane (a teenage son at home, in case we needed to get back in a hurry) and he stumbled on this place when doing a bit of online investigation.

I am so pleased that he did. From booking, arriving and departing everything was wonderfully smooth - we loved that our key was left inside our cabin, thus negating the need to "check in" and truly giving us the sense of seclusion. There are four cabins on the property and it appeared that we were the only guests this past weekend, so that was a bonus and added to the seclusion side of things.

We had the Kingfisher cabin which was right at the end of the "road" and very private, with views (albeit somewhat smokey due to bush fires) of the coastline off in the distance from the deck. The cabin was gorgeous - small and compact but perfect for a couple. It truly was a "log" cabin in the middle of the rainforest. The bed was beautifully comfortable with amazing pillows (not always a given). The kitchen had everything you could want in self-catering accommodation and even things like candles, lanterns and torches had been thought of. The bathroom was compact and only had a shower, but who needs more. Of course the fireplace would be a real drawcard in winter (and we will return for a winter weekend) but even on a warm day down in Brisbane, it was just cool enough up the "mountain" to light the fire on our first night.

There is a great BBQ out on the deck and a picnic table in the clearing near the cabin - where we shared drinks and nibbles each evening. For us it was perfect - a real chance to get away from it all and relax and do very little. We did do one of the bushwalks on the Saturday to the falls which was lovely through the rainforest - so do that if you are up for a bit of easy exercise.

There are a couple of cafe's nearby - although not really walking distance. We had lunch at the Miaila Tearoom which was pleasant - very heavily visited by bike riders out for their weekend ride through the hills. The food was great - although nothing to write home about. Bit of a bummer that it wasn't licensed, we could have used a beer after our bush walk but not to worry.

I am not sure if there are any restaurants/cafe's that open at night up the mountain, so take all your food with you - The Gap is just a short 45 min drive away where there is a Coles supermarket and that's where we stocked up. The cabin does supply a bit of tea/coffee/milk but only enough really for one or two cups. Also remember to take mozzie repellant if you are there in the summer months - although again our cabin had some in it - but better to be safe than sorry.

My only real complaint is that I wished there had been a swimming pool on the property - in the hot summer months it would be lovely to laze around it or have a cooling dip after getting back from a bushwalk - but I just rigged up a hose in the tree and had a quick spray. Not quite the same but better than nothing. That was the only thing really missing.

So thank you Mt Glorious Getaways - you were just what we needed and it was very romantic and secluded and we loved it and we will be back!

I was disappointed with my stay, because it was obvious the cottage had been given a very light and partial surface only clean, after the previous guests. Surfaces contained dust. Kitchen bench, stove top and bathroom bench were not wiped. The fridge contained a half used one litre bottle of milk on the bottom door shelf. The basin in the bathroom had hair in it and soap scum. Unsurprisingly the dinner plates and a fry pan (I only checked what I used to cook) had food on them, forcing me to clean them before I could use them. This was an indication the owners rely upon guests washing and putting away (per their policy) and don't check items are properly cleaned when preparing rooms for incoming guests. The carpets had not been vacuumed - food crumbs could be felt and were visible underfoot and it was the same with the tiled kitchen floor... not cleaned or mopped. The mould in the silicone and grout in the shower was shocking and it beggars belief any business would risk their reputation by presenting that to a paying guest. The location is very peaceful and private, but the cottages are run down, tired and poorly maintained... particularly the shower in the bathroom. At $180 a night, I don't consider it was value for money and left very disappointed at having been treated like a fool. My overall impression was that this business clearly is of the mind-set that extracting the most from customers whilst providing an unsatisfactory, dirty, dilapidated product, is quite reasonable conduct. Staff response times to emails is poor. I had enquired the day before check-in, as to whether there was an oven in the kitchen, so I could plan ahead and know what groceries to take with me (there are no grocery stores in this location). Staff did not respond until after my stay was over and I had checked out.

On the plus side, the location is beautiful and peaceful. The bed was comfortable with high quality linens and the towels were thick and plush.

I have been organizing get together weekends for the past 3 years and this is definitely the best place I have found so far in the SE QLD area. We have been there twice now (booking the whole site) and the two times were excellent. It is only ~50 minutes from Brisbane CBD. Very clean, really comfortable beds, huge homestead and beautiful cottages, very well equipped, lot of privacy, nice garden, nice walk a few hundred meters away from the property, fire place... You name it! This is also very good value for money. I highly recommended this place and cant wait to come back next year! Would be a very good place for couple/friends/family. Stephane

Stayed in Kingfisher for four nights and cannot fault it. Quiet, relaxing and you feel really isolated. We went for the wildlife and peace and although you hear more than you see we weren't disappointed. Sugar glider, pademelons, birds and possums. None of which were begging for food or tame. Just how they should be 😊
Cabin was well kitted out and towels, linen and cutlery etc were all spotless.
Check in and out was easy and you felt left alone but knew owners were around if you needed without being intrusive.
Really enjoyed our short stay from SA and hope to be back. Also love that it was an easy drive from Brisbane. Pack warm clothes for this time of year but the fire heated the cabin really well in the evening.

Discovered this place through a friend, and to my surprise it was really amazing!
Went with some friends during winter. We got the 6 room cabin. The interior has a nice, rustic charm to it, and there's a fireplace as well (With timber and firewood all provided!)

There's a kitchen, coffee and tea, and some CDs and a TV, for those who can't live without it! There's a barbecue available for every cabin as well.

But its surroundings are really beautiful! There's a walking trail nearby, and you can see the starts at night too!

Highly recommend it to friends, families or couples who wants a nice relaxing weekend away :)

The winding road up to the top of the mountain took us out of Brisbane to another world. The cabins at this resort are well built, up to date and very comfortable. Tea at 6:00am rewarded me with the sounds of the rain forest waking up - which I recorded for future flashbacks. If you are quiet, you can watch padymelons hopping around in the jungle. Rollie and Lelani are most excellent hosts. Though it wasn't cold, the bonfire topped off the delicious cookout. There are parakeets and cockatiels flying around the beautifully landscaped property. The bird feeders are extra heavy duty to hold the birds which are the size of flying chickens! This should be one of your required stops when visiting the Sunshine state!
