I called to enquire about the motel room that is listed and enquired about the sofas that were in the photo and was told that the room does not have sofas. When I asked if the room was the same as a studio (it's listed elsewhere on other sites as a studio) the employee I spoke to said he wasn't sure and hung up on me. We have come annually for 8 years. Same room many times. Now no coffee table ( for 2 years). Old corroded air con. Upstairs air conditioning drips onto our balcony (still). Bathroom has water damaged cupboards (still). Sauna broken 2 years in a row. Location is perfect which is why it gets 2 stars. We won’t be back any more.

My husband and I and our 6 month old baby had the most relaxing long weekend staying here. Excellent accomodation in a central yet quiet location. The room was sparkling clean with a really comfortable bed and brand new baby cot and bedding. Directly across from the beach with a lovely big pool and even a baby pool too. So many great places to eat close by. Perfect for families and couples. We will definitely be back!

This hotel is on a prime position for Coolum beach . You literally just cross the road and you are on the boardwalk and the beach . The rooms are comfortable and well equipped there iare two pools ( one for small children ) which iare warm albeit a bit noisy .There are various restaurants right next door .Its also ( although I didn’t see it has its own kitchen facilities for those who wish to do their own food ) The staff were very friendly and kept our luggage for us before and after we had checked out until we left Coolum later on .

Lovely view of the beach from our top floor unit. No oven in the kitchen but well equipped otherwise. Bed comfortable. We always try to travel with our own pillows where possible. The unit was very adequate but a little tired. It will need a refurbishment in the foreseeable future. Friendly staff on check in and great location for coffee and restaurants. Beach access across the road! We had to park outside the first night but moved our vehicle inside the next morning. Never found an ironing board if one existed but no other hassles.

I'm also surprised by some of the negative reviews about this place! We made a last minute decision to stay in Coolum for our last night in the Sunshine Coast. We rocked up to reception and I bombarded Amber with questions and asked to see some different room types before booking in, and she was more than accommodating. We were chuffed with our 1BR Apartment with washer and drier, spa bath, balcony..! There were also ocean view rooms available. There's a pool and sauna which we loved. Rooms are clean and seem reasonably new. We managed to get a free park easily, however it does clearly state that it's subject to availability and not guaranteed. Right across the road from the beach and next to some great restaurants with $10 cocktails during happy hour. We rented a surfboard…

Excellent customer service! I’m dumbfounded by the less-than-complimentary comments about the customer experience as mine was absolutely top notch. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful and special mention for David who provided first-rate customer service and all with a genuine smile. We have no hesitation in highly recommending this place and don’t believe the negative reviews.

This Resort is situated on the Esplanade with lovely views. That’s about the only positive for our stay. We found the staff unfriendly, and unapproachable. The bed was very hard and pillows were so thin! A very disappointing stay :(

Words are not enough to express what a wonderful holiday you can have at Beach Retreat. All staff are amazing, welcoming and make you feel at home. Facilities in the rooms are more than adequate and very clean. Beds are extremely comfortable and kitchen contains everything needed to cook a meal. Clubs and restaurants are within walking distance. Cafes are open early for coffee and breakfast. Beach is a 2 min walk across the road.The best holiday accomodation in Coolum.

Not a great experience at all here. Firstly there was no parking at all even though it was included in the cost. We had to park in the street down the road and walk up. Secondly our room 37a was directly above a public venue with a party and live (very bad band) playing so loud it was unbearable. Upon ringingg the after hours number to try and get a different room we were told by the woman who answered the phone that she couldn’t help us at all and the hotel had nothing to do with the facilities underneath us. When we told her we couldn’t sleep and wanted a refund to find somewhere else to stay she told us the manager said there would be no refund. Very surprised with the rudeness, lack of interest or consideration and the ‘I don’t care attitude’. she was not the slightest bit…
