Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a great place to stay . It was fairly convenient to the shopping strip and the beach, jus a few minutes walk. The proprietors were fantastic too and very willing to help with anything we asked for. Our apartment was bright and airy and a great size for a family. The bed was very comfortable too.

We recently enjoyed a 4 night stay in a beautiful 2 bedroom Deluxe Apartment with Seaview Rooftop. It was spacious and had a great outlook. The lift made access easy with luggage and as there were only 3 apartments using this lift it was never crowded or busy. It had been carefully prepared and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The electric Bar B Q on the balcony was an added bonus. Easy walking distance to cafes, supermarkets and the local surf club and hotel, it was easy not to venture far. The bus stop is only a couple of hundred metres away with a regular bus service both north to Noosa or south to Maroochydore. We regularly stay on the Sunshine Coast and now feel this is definitely the right accommodation for us.

Really friendly and co-operative service. We booked a room with private rooftop spa and that was perfect. Ideal location, just two blocks from the pub and three blocks from shops and cafe. Bed was comfortable and the unit had everything we needed plus secure undercover parking. Would stay here again.

Richard welcomed me on arrival. Friendly and easy going. Told me he had given me a roof top unit, which was great. Good sea views, overlooked pool. Only issue was cleanliness. It wasn't good. I did mention to him that the sofas were filthy, sand, food stuff under cushions. He had it cleaned when I went out. But there was more, I just didn't want to complain about. As he is a great guy. I'm thinking the cleaning staff just don't do a good job. Bathroom sink and shower grotty and grimy. Floors littered with dust, not mopped. Countertops with food residue. Same for coffee table and dining table. I had to go and clean these items. Dust thick behind furniture, inside lamps, side tables, mirrors filthy... cleaners need replacing.

This 'accommodation provider' does not care if your plans change due to COVID, their response is 'it's been around for 2 years, we don't care'. Absolutely disgusting. When asked if we could put a friend into the accommodation for the cancellation policy we were given a response that they have a 2 night minimum stay (the cancellation is 1 night) and we could p0ay another night and then put someone in there. No option of a date change or any other option given. Absolutely disgusting. If your plans could be impacted due to COVID, DO NOT book here. If you don't like bad customer service, also DO NOT stay here under any circumstances. If you have kids staying in the 2nd room of a 2 bedroom apartment, don't stay here as unsafe.

Response from Michelle I, Other at Seachange Coolum Beach
Responded 27 Dec 2021
Kerstin, your reservation through booking.com clearly stated the cancellation policy of 5 days prior to arrival. You planned to arrive from overseas into Queensland which, at this time, does not have an open international border. You knew MORE than 5 days from arrival that you were not going to be able to stay and we were not able to fill all of the vacancy left by your cancellation at such short notice. It is extremely difficult managing any small business during COVID and cancellation policies are in place to protect the customer and the apartment owners. I understand you are upset, but your accusations are false and your claim that the second bedroom is unsafe for children is completely untrue. You have not stayed here, so you cannot comment on the apartments or our facilities! The majority of our guests are families with small children. I'm not sure why you would make this statement.

Pleasant experience opening the front door to be greeted by an inviting, homely space. The building itself is not brand new, it does not detract from the very apparent care and love that goes into creating a comfortable space. My one bedroom apartment welcomed me with tasteful and functional furnishings, small dining table with four chairs (with cushions!) a very comfy sofa bed in the lounge. A large flat screen tv faced the sofa, from which you could enjoy your favourite show or take in the views of the pool and ocean. The ocean isn’t too visible due to the trees that have grown high across the road, nonetheless, the sunrises, sunsets still provide a lovely view and you can hear and smell the sea from the comfort of your bed or sofa. The queen bed was very comfortable and linen crisp and fresh. Extra blankets and pillows can be found in the built in mirrored wardrobe. Along with extra bedding, you will find a clothes hamper, plenty of coat hangers, clothes airer and iron in the robes. The shower was spacious with great water pressure and hot water. The laundry was a winner for me as I was attending training courses, where my clothes were getting dirty and wet. It was handy to be able to wash and dry and avoid taking a bag of wet items home. A sachet of laundry powder can be found under the sink in the kitchen, a plastic washing tub and bag of pegs on top of the washing machine. Cleaning tools included a buckets, mop and Dyson stick vaccum. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need and possibly more. Crockery, cutlery, huge range of utensils, bowls, plastic containers, salad bowls, mixing bowls, teapot, sugar bowl, milk jug, coffee plunger, pots, frypan, electric frypan, toaster, kettle, roasting tray… and more… even cookbooks!! You will also find a microwave, regular size oven, four burner electric glass cooktop and a decent sized fridge and freezer. The icing on the cake, were the two trays of ice cubes ready to be used in the freezer!! That was an extra touch which highlighted that these hosts really consider your needs. It was lovely to wind down from a long drive, with an icy drink on the balcony. I’m sure I have missed a few things… I highly recommend Seachange Coolum Beach as a home away from home, either for two nights as I needed this time, or a much longer stay that I plan on enjoying next time. The hosts are lovely, helpful and accommodating to make your stay memorable. I look forward to coming back, this time for a holiday… the pool looked amazing and I didn’t get a chance to use it this time. Thank you again, especially for the use of the towel after I checked out! Much appreciated :-)

we had a two bedroom apartment with a rooftop spa. we found the apartment to be very large. plenty of utensil's if u want to cater for yourself. couldn't believe the rooftop with its different seating areas with tables and two different balconies which lead off the rooms:) great for following the sunshine:). loved all the three different pool types. it was lovely to sit in the spa and have a view of the hinterland and sea perfect. didn't have much interaction with he managers during our stay Richard checked us in nice and easy showed us how to get to our room, saw Michelle on our departure they were both extremely friendly and were great with response times with emails before our visit. the road out the front can get busy as its one of the main roads. only tiny negative i have but its purely because I'm a clean freak that there was dust on top of the microwave and the dining table was sticky. but was good after a couple of wipe downs. and saw dust under the sofas and entertainment unit but it could be settling dust depending how long it had been between guests and the t.v. lead in the bedroom had lots of dust on it. but like i say its just me .but other than that lovely and clean. we had to cut our stay short due to lockdown restriction's coming into effect in Melbourne:( would stay again when in coolumn. loved the view from the room. and we wish Michelle and Richard well with the business

I had a fantastic week at Seachange Coolum. I booked a one bedroom unit but was given a two bedroom unit although I didn't require a second bedroom, this gave me a unit that was very spacious. Was very impressed with how spacious this unit was, particularly the living room and the two balconies. The apartment was clean and on the top level so had some lovely sea breezes. The staff were helpful and friendly and the price was very reasonable. A lot of places on the Sunshine Coast are charging too much I think especially at the moment during the pandemic, so Seachange was offering a very reasonable price. The two pools that they had were fantastic as well with a 25 metre heated lap pool and spa. Being so close to all the local shops and only a very short walking distance to the beach, Seachange is a great location for a holiday.

Overall this resort has mostly positives attributes to relate. As in the case with these apartment types they are mix of residences and holiday apartments. The pool area is a definite plus with lap pool, beach and spa areas well maintained. Each block has its own lift so great and speedy access. The apartments are noisy with any banging door shaking the whole building to its foundations so not a quiet place to stay. Apartment could be cleaner. The private roof terraces are an interesting feature. The dishwasher in our apartment had broken seals.
