I wasn't expecting anything grand, I had seen the photos and reviews, I was mostly staying there because we shared the same name haha. I was attending a function for the weekend and just needed a bed for the night which it suitably met. I don't know what the other rooms are like, but the shower in room 6 is practically unusable, don't know what they were thinking when they installed it.

The room was clean and spacious. Staff were helpful and friendly. Great location as it is a short walk into town. We had a very pleasant stay especially considering the low price. The motel markets itself as budget but I think some previous reviewers seem to expect something different.

Weht to Wangaratta for a family event and needed a low cost overnighter.

Millers is a Budget Group [Arra] motel in the 2 1/2 star range by my reckoning. BUT for a small set up the rooms nearly have it all - tea/coffee making, fridge, toaster, microwave, mugs and spoons.

But sadly no other crockery and cutlery - hard to spread your toast with the back of a teaspoon on a bench top.

Room also has air-con, heating and electric blankets on the very comfortable double.

UPside - a $1 in the slot bed vibrator, if that's your thing.

Bathroom was clean and had it all.

I guess when you book a budget motel your expect basic not dirty. The carpet was filthy if we had of has a small child no way would I have put him on the floor, bench, doors, walls and around light switches all grubby not COVID friendly the rubbish bin on the outside was dirty couldn’t open it with the peddle to have no idea re the inside, Bathroom mouldy and the whole room smelled of urine, No COVID check in was done, I realise they had my name and phone number but they were unaware of who was travelling with me, Upon entering the office I was met with a very unpleasant stench, and a man we seemed not to understand English. No smoking in the rooms so the ashtrays on the tables out side doors where all dirty and smelly. Not happy my 92 year old mother wasn’t happy and we should of left and asked for a refund but I was to tired to drive. Lesson learnt always look at the room before paying.

Overall, a disappointment. Yes, it is quiet from road traffic, that is, if your room is at the back of the property, and it's conveniently located as it's located a short(ish) walk from the shops.

Having said that, the room was in desperate need of maintenance, with the smallest toilet and shower that I have ever used, in any of my trips!

It's being advertised as clean and comfortable, but I have my doubts about that claim. The carpet was stained and I am not entirely sure, the bed sheets had been changed from the previous occupant!.. The bed itself it is comfortable, once the visitor gets over the initial shock of how basic this facility is.

The room doors don't offer any kind of safety, no security chains are installed and one is advised not to leave any valuables in the room.

As for service, there was hardly any as, I was not told about the WiFi facility, asked about breakfast or what time I would like to check out. As it happened, I had to leave early so with the reception been shut, I left the key on the door of my room..

On the positive side, there's a kind of playground facing the rear units, useful when one has children that cannot be confined in such a small room.

This has then been a disappointing experience for me, even at this price point, as I've had better accommodation elsewhere, at similarly priced places.

I am usually easily pleased, but really, this place was a huge disappointment, even for me!

This same traveller wrote an anonymous review (Charlie Brown - we had no guest by that name) on wotif after their visit which I answered there and it is has now been totally removed. This review is embellished even more, I wonder when people don't use their real name how honest they are being, as I have no idea who I am replying to. As I replied previously we are an older motel and do not advertise that we are anything more than a 3 star property. We have just been rated 95% for cleanliness on our AAA rating completed in March and I am appalled at the point that the sheets were not changed as that is just completely untrue as we - the owners - do all of this ourselves and would never ever not change sheets from previous guests. If an issue about cleanliness of the bedding was brought to our attention at the time we would have rectified it immediately. Yes the ensuite bathrooms are small but they are just that, an ensuite not a full sized bathroom. As far as services are concerned we answer all requests from guests regarding their needs and the compendium in the room has all the available services listed. I would have thought if you required some more information you would ask. The reception times are clearly marked on the front door with instructions regarding leaving keys in the room if going before 8 am. As far as warning not to leave valuables in the room that is standard in all motel/hotel rooms that I have ever stayed in and the door has a standard lock on it. We have different size rooms catering for different requirements and to say that you would confine children in a room that is designed for a maximum of two people (our smallest room) is ridiculous. I am glad that you actually had some good points to say in this review regarding the quietness and locality. Again as I said in your previous review on wotif I am sorry it wasn't to your liking.

We stayed here for one night in passing through on our way to a wedding locally the next day, it was a great little hotel for a one night, with clean room, easy parking outfront of the room, chairs to sit on outside, and a little garden/park area. Easy access to the main road of Wang, and easy location to get to Milawa or any other areas in the surrounding region - a great little stay, and good value!

We were travelling to Torquay from NSW and needed a pit stop. We were looking for an economical hotel/motel and I found Millers via the web.
It certainly isnt "a beauty", in fact we were surprised with her appearance and thought we were in for a terrible night. However, the room was very clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable and my husband was impressed with the water pressure in the shower.
Certainly not a show pony but if you are looking for a quick cheap stop over I would highly recommend Millers.

We were going on to Mount Buffalo so this was a good choice for a cheap one night stay. The rooms are small and it is dated but it is quiet and comfortable, great rest after a long drive. It's also close to the centre so you can pick up dinner easy.

Firstly we are keen travellers and so to make a serious complaint is a first for us but patrons need to be aware of this establishment.

We stayed from the 9th to the 12th June 2020. Our booking was through Agoda and also paid for in advance. Agoda have been contacted and are dealing with this concern as well. We have no complaints regarding Agoda.

When we arrived it was late in the day, and soon after arrival we went to purchase some dinner which is why the condition of the room was not noticed immediately. That night the portable heater was not working and we could not open the wardrobe. Upon further inspection the room was dirty, mouldy and the bathroom was disgusting. The photos show the mould in the room on the shower curtain and in the shower. On the day after our arrival there was no housekeeping, bed not made. We couldn't open the wardrobe so had to ask for a key. We were told people take the keys which is why there is none there. When we finally got it open, it had dirty mouldy rags in the bottom and smelt. We complained and we're told the housekeeper must have missed it. It hadn't been cleaned for a long long time. Considering the CoVid virus the room should have at least been sanitised. The room is advertised with Foxtel channels. There were none. When we asked he said that they hadn't connected because of the CoVid virus. The light by the bed, globes had blown. There was no way the room had been cleaned as required by general health restrictions alone. To top it off when they did come to make bed and change towels, they actually went to our luggage which was on the floor as we had nowhere to put our clothes or belongings and took out a roll of our own toilet paper from our personal shopping and put it in the bathroom. I hate to think that they went through our other possessions. I do know that some other items were touched. I know that this is not the standard Hotel/Motel Accommodation Agoda is known for which is why we book with them which is why we complained and requested a full refund of the accommodation cost. The cost is one issue but the cleanliness of the room is another.

I believe that this needs to be taken further with regards to them not just going through our luggage but also the unhygienic state of the room. This poses a huge health risk for future patrons.
We complained to the management of Millers Cottage Motel at the time but their attitude was unhelpful to say the least. Following our complaint lodged with Agoda 5 days ago they still have not had a reply from Millers Cottage Motel despite contacting them several times.
You may ask why we didn't move accommodation we would have except we had already paid and as pensioners could not afford an extra cost for 3 nights until later in the week.

I am attaching photos for you perusal so as to confirm what I have also explained.

I hope that something can be done to protect other patrons from having to encounter this dreadful and unsafe state of this Motel.
Please note we have received confirmation that Tourism Wangaratta are looking into this matter as well as the Department /Community Compliance\Environmental Health for follow up.
