Detailed Reviews
Started off like a normal low star rated hotel.
No one at reception at 7pm to sign in. Then I gradually went down. A broken window in the room across from the reception is one of the first things you see.
We go to our rooms and are greeted by stick insects.
The rooms are dated and showing signs of its age. The A/C is struggling to cool down the room.
The bed is comfortable, a plus!
The bathroom is old and serious work needs to be done.
The tiles have been painted and that is flaking away, some tiles have been replaced in a very rough manor. No tradies here..
In another room the water has been flowing for 3 days, not just a drip, but the flow you would use to wash your hands,
When turning on the lights, be aware of the other pets we have found here. Cockroaches the size of small dogs, that we let out occasionally for them to do their business.
My bin was emptied once in a week and the floors not swept or vacuumed once..
Remove all valuables from your car overnight, there is a problem here.
The pool is empty and the BBQ facilities unusable.
Keep your expectations low
All in all, it was a bed after work. I look forward to the next hotel.

Half of the reviews on this website are written by hired guns, mostly from B-S motel down the road, they have been doing so for the last 4 years, writing bogus reviews hopefully get some business for them. So, please read them with a grain of salt. We all know Tennant Creek has the alot of crime rate, committed by young local Aboriginals, to counter this, Eldorado has installed 7 foot fence surrounding the motel, in addition, we have installed razor wires on top, furthermore we have 3 guard dogs on site, we regularly patrol the site during the night and early morning, we also shut the gate to increase security, however, even with all that sometimes they do make it inside, to reduce the chance of car window being smashed, we encourage all guests to remove all visible valuables from their car, all of our rooms doors has locks, and the newer rooms has security window bars to prevent break ins, we have CCTV cameras installed, we do monitor it during the night too. our competitors down the road has the same run down motel as we do, however we have new-er furnitures, new-er beds, new-er mattresses, new-er aircon units and new-er TV's, and we charge 30% less than they do. We offer free amenities too. We have far better security than they do. We offer free wifi, the competitors down the road charges you $20 to use their wifi. We have security patrolling the yard during the night and early morning. We are trying all means within legal limit to prevent these crimes being committed. Our receptionist do go home after 7pm, however there is the phone number you can always call, our on site manager will answer it and help you as much as we can there are times that late travelers comes in at 10pm 11pm, we have accommodated for them. +1
We arrived around 2 pm after driving up from Alice Springs. There was no one at reception, (there was a note to phone for staff) and our first impression was of a filthy glass reception door, and unkempt inner area. We looked around and were not impressed with the facility, even the pool was under maintenance. We drove around and came back later to staff there and a huge friendly Pitbull.
Our room had all the amenities and the bed was comfortable, but it wasn’t very clean and the razor wire on the fence not entirely reassuring regarding safety.
We did get a good sleep, place was quiet, TV in room but free wifi did not work at all.

This is a private mine owned motel these days. Due to the lack of housing in Tennant Creek the mine bought this motel for their staff use.
It’s controversial as it’s limited the small pool of accommodation available here

Booked in a hurry at Woomera two weeks ago, it was basically the only place in town with a pool and restaurant on site. The reviews of this place are brutal but if read thoroughly will sufficiently lower your expectations to the point where you may enjoy your stay. The pool is empty, and there is no evidence of a restaurant. The pictures should be sorted by date to see the real thing.
The manager was friendly and gave good security tips. Our room was clean. Some of the power sockets worked, the powerboard sparked. There was hot water. The toilet brush was only mildly soiled.
If you must stay in Tennant Creek then I would have no hesitation in suggesting you reconsider your itinerary. If you cant do that and everywhere else is booked then chance your arm and sleep with one eye open.

This sad, sorry, rundown motel is way overpriced. The good things about the place are: the fridge kept my beer cold, I could watch the footy on TV and my car wasn't broken into. Unfortunately the bad things far outweigh the good. I booked in for 2 nights but couldn't stand another night in a smelly, ant infested, dilapidated room. Honestly do not bother. This is the cheap, nasty motel you read about in novels or see in the film's,without the cheap and nasty price.

We booked 2 weeks ago and when we arrived the reception was boarded up. When we rang the manager they came over but could not find our booking. Gave us a family room and charged $170. I had stayed in Tennant Creek so many times as an Alice Springs resident who travels for work but this was the worst yet. The floor was dirty and stained, there was ants on the shelves, the shower head was broken and had to be held in place, the toilet roll holder was broken and couldn't be touched, my kids put stuff under the bed and it was disgusting - I don't think it has ever been cleaned. The sheets were clean at least and the airconditioner worked. The blind doesnt close properly and there are no blinds in the bathroom. The sliding door didn't slide and had to be lifted to be moved, waking everyone up in the middle of the night. The room next to us had their room window smashed overnight, the pool was empty, the reception smelled like a dead mouse and there was no hot water. I will never be staying here again - disgusting and shouldn't be charging more than $50 a night for that horrible room. Oh and the restaurant is shutdown.

Sad to see, very unkempt accommodation, pool disgusting colour, definitely didn’t go swimming.
Room basically clean apart from dead flying bugs over the floor. Only 1 teaspoon, very limited crockery and cutlery, no microwave, aircon not very efficient Were planning to have a meal at the restaurant on site, looks like it has been closed for some time, overall very disappointing

Stayed 1 night in late August, I am a repeat customer though it has been 2 years since the last. This time I had booked in advance, went to reception and was greeted by a big dirty dog on the lounge, the receptionist playing on his phone. Obtained key and went to my "better room" as I was a repeat customer. Upon entering the room I noticed the top sheet on the bed was hanging below the bedspread, not tucked in, bedspread was of a thin material and no blanket. I looked in the wardrobe for the blanket and saw it screwed up on the floor with mouse dropping on it, so left it there. Checked the top shelf and saw mouse droppings around coffee tea and mugs so didn't touch those. Bar fridge was over iced therefore the motor kept running all night. Switched on the light over the bed, it was so full of bugs hardly any light got passed. Cold tap over hand basin kept running all night. After I had checked the receptionist also checked another guest into my room. Won't be back there again. Lindsey

I had a room booked for week (booked in advance), and showed up Monday around 5pm. The place looked like a prison, and was crawling with stray dogs.
Beyond the rubbish, and general untidiness, the place had very poor security, and quite frankly a lot of shady looking people lurking around.
It was pouring rain when I arrived, and the door to reception was locked. After knocking for some period of time, I noticed an after hours phone number on the door (not that we were anywhere near that time yet), so I called it.
I proceeded to call the number, and knock on the door for the next 30-40 minutes, before messaging them via Facebook and email.
It is now Saturday, and I've still had no response. To be honest, even if there had been someone at reception to give me my key, I would likely have been too apprehensive about safety to stay anyway.
I wouldn't personally wish a night here upon anyone

My husband and I stayed here with three dogs. Firstly the exterior does look run down and the pool was empty but the reception person was friendly and checking in was easy. Our pet friendly room was spacious and clean. Yes, it's an old hotel but all the facilities were there and worked. It's great that we can have the dogs in the room.
