We stopped in at Barkly Homestead after refuelling at Tennant Creek. The roadhouse itself is quite modern. We ate dinner here and despite being a little pricey (as are a lot of roadhouses), it was good pub-style food. A wide selection of beers and wines are also available. We selected a spot to camp under a tree, but noticed it...

Amazing place. Stayed for 2nts over Easter. Great rooms, great camping ground, all is so clean. Happy hour from 4pm is awesome. But if you love good food and amazing coffee, this is the place. The American girl who serves in the morning makes some of the best coffee I have had and like her all staff are Amazing, accommodating...

A great place to stopover, clean and tidy, friendly staff and the best meal we have had in two years of living in NT. Have to recommend to all travelers, yes it is not a cheap place, but to even be where it is ,what a logistical feat in itself.

We stopped on our way into and out of the territory and were happy both times. Our stop last night we skipped the camper trailer and booked one of the cabins. Nice and clean, comfy beds and the pool was lovely after driving from Alice Springs. Dinner was what we expected, good honest pub food that leaves you satisfied and...

After a long days drive from Darwin to Barkley Homestead we were very happy with the cabins and how quickly our food was served as we had 2 little ones ready to eat. The next day I accidentally put unleaded into my diesel 4wd. the owner and another employee were our saving grace, draining all the mixed fuel out instead...

After a long journey from from the east it is good to stop over for the night. The cabins are clean and comfortable. Food from the restaurant was delicious and the service was quick. The beers were nice and cold. Host was helpful.

We had booked into the Homestead after approx.1100km drive expecting it to provide certain amenities for the traveller. when we were allocated our cabin, we were amazed that there was no amenities such as Jugs for heating water, cups, plates, coffee, tea etc. only a bed, which for $150.00/night we thought, even though it is in the middle of nowhere,...

Coming home from working remote we stayed at Barkly Homestead after a long drive. Needed a good nights sleep. Woke up with bed bug bites over my body...spent the rest of my trip back to Qld in terrible itchiness and soreness. I paid $150 for the night's attack of bed bugs!!! Don't stay here!!

Stopped there six times now over the years. Fuel is much dearer than Camooweal or Tennant Creek (no surprise given the isolation)but they have all types and it is a reliable service. Have had no issues with fuel quality. Used a powered site last visit. It was bloody wet. Rolled a swag out beside the power pole. Ammenities were clean,...

Thanks for your review. Your right fuel is dearer here than Camooweal or Tennant. Isolation, freight and being self sufficient (generated power and water) and jsut a few things that contribute to this. We turn over a lot of fuel so the quality is always good and we never run out. I agree with the need of a dry walk...
