We stayed at the Safari Lodge for one night recently in a freshly renovated family room. The room featured a fridge, huge TV, a nice ensuite, and air conditioning that worked really well. The room was quiet, had blockout blinds and was spotlessly clean. Parking was just outside the room and there was contactless checkin and checkout- our only problem was the friendly staff forgot to leave our key in our room, and didn’t return our call to the check in number, only answering when we called again 30 minutes later. The car park and rooms are secured behind electric gates, which unfortunately are necessary in Tennant Creek. Tennant Creek presents itself as a pretty scary/unsafe town. The Safari Lodge was a welcome oasis in the town. There is no restaurant at the Safari Lodge. For travellers to Tennant Creek, be aware of the very small number of restaurants in town with the capability to dine in, and the very strict alcohol sales requirements placed by the government on bottle shops - eg you can only buy wine OR beer from a bottle shop in one day, not both, and there are strict limits on quantities. Be aware of this before going drinks shopping in Tennant Creek. We ended up getting take away food from Rocky’s pizza shop, and sharing a bottle of wine. We would choose the Safari Lodge as our first choice if ever in Tennant Creek again, however it is quite expensive for a family room in such a remote location ($205) and the wi-fi wasn’t working, which was apologised for through a sign at the contactless check in.…
If the internet was easier to connect we would have rated it higher. Communication is not the best. No response to telephone messages. Rooms lovely and clean. Definitely Tennant Creeks finest accommodation compared to others on offer. Recommended.
What an unexpected find! The deluxe room was modern, excellently appointed, the layout was great , all the furnishings were exceptional & the crockery was a great surprise!!! We cannot speak more highly of Safari Lodge Motel. Our best Motel room so far in our travels! Oh yes, the bed was super comfortable!! Don’t look anywhere else… just book it!!! Thank you Leah!!
Everything about staying here was so easy and comfortable. The rooms are fantastic and modern with small touches like Milo and plates was really appreciated. You could park your car at the front of your room and the gate to the property is closed at night (the room key has buttons for the gate if you need to open it). Would absolutely stay here again.
Have stayed at all places in Tennant Creek over the years and this is by far the best. The rooms have been refurbished and are very well appointed and modernized with the biggest TV I have encountered. Being in the back street, it is very quiet and only a short walk to the main street or to the Memo Club for meals. Will be my first choice if I come back. Only issue was WIFI was still being installed, so not accessible when I stayed. Hopefully that will be resolved soon.
