Detailed Reviews
We arrived later in the day due to a few stop offs visiting Litchfield National Park on the way up. Upon arrival our room had been given to someone else 😳 & we were given a smaller room. We were quite upset as we were a family of 4 with only a double bed & a single, this was due to a mix up with their booking system (we booked direct with hotel 7 months ago). The motel was fully booked, but the receptionist got to work trying to fix the problem. In the end we got given a room that could accommodate us all & it was quite comfortable. We also got given a free night credit (we had a 3 night booking), so we really appreciated the gesture. Very friendly & helpful staff, comfortable beds, awesome breakfast buffet. I would just recommend reconfirming bookings just prior to arrival.

We recently stayed 2 nights at The Pine Tree Motel and it was a good experience. The room was comfortable and spacious but a bit dated. Breakfast was good and the service was very good. We appreciated the chance to do a load of washing and a clothesline to dry it very quickly. The car park was busy but we were able to get a park on the property. Location was good with an easy walk to The Black Russian Van for a great coffee.

We stayed one night here. It had a great breakfast included in the morning included in the price.
Breakfast was a lovely home cooked spread .
The rooms were large and beds were comply. The rooms are clean and had everything we needed.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
We had a bbq and the bbq area had a great set up fully equipped with plates , cutlery and pots and pans
The pool was lovely and clean
We would stay there again for sure
We stayed in 2 other places in town and this was by far the best ( we couldn’t get 3 nights in one place)

First impressions count. Check-in was good and the receptionist was helpful. We were told to make sure our car was locked and nothing left in them, also to make sure we closed the room door as the locals had been ransacking the cars and rooms. Made my wife very uneasy all night. Not a fault of the hotel but of the locals! Once in our room I found a dirty mark (looked like a chit stain) on the sheets. The receptionist changed our sheets straight away. The floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned since the 2007 cyclone swept through, so gross. The shower had the remnants of a broken soap dish still there, jagged edges too. The basin had no waste stop and there was no hot water. As the bbq area was being done up the swimming area was a little cramped but the pool was good. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast. Really good buffet with a large selection of hot and cold.

My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights while we visited Katherine and the surrounds in March. The motel is well located for accessing Nitmiluk National Park, and also Mataranka for the hot springs in Elsey National Park.
The rooms are what you would expect for a motel. They were clean and spacious which was what we were looking for and the AC worked very well. There was a coin laundry with both a dryer and a clothes line which were very helpful given the hot and humid conditions and mid March. We didn't use the pool area but it certainly looked very new and relaxing. The team also included a laminated A3 page with lots of restaurant and other recommendations for guests which was very helpful during our stay. I can see that during peak season parking on-site could prove to be a challenge, but we had no problems during our stay as part of the motel was closed for renovations. There appears to be ample street parking also available close by.
We had breakfast included in our room rate which was fantastic. There was a selection of hot items (eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns etc) as well as your typical continental items like cereal, and yoghurt. It set us up for our day out at Katherine Gorge perfectly.
The staff at motel/hotel can often either make or break it, and the Pine Tree Model has definitely hit the jackpot with Pauline, Claudia, Chris and the team at breakfast (I didn't get their names unfortunately). They were all lovely, and very helpful with any and all questions we had, and up for a bit of a chat.
We had a great stay and would definitely recommend to others looking for somewhere to stay in Katherine.

We stayed 2 nights here and it was a nice room and very close to the main shopping strip of Katherine. The staff were exceptional as I had to change dates several times due to interstate travel restrictions. Our room was big and had everything that we needed including tea and coffee amenities. Staff also assisted us with my Nitmuluk Gorge cruise as it had to be changed due to heavy rainfall. There are 2 gates across the entrance and exit that are closed at night so we felt safe. The staff were amazing and I want to thank them for everything that they did for us. I highly recommend staying here. They also have a buffet breakfast but we didnt eat there.

It was really basic. Outdated motel. But it's understandable for the little outback town it is located in. It's a bit pricey for what you get but yet again Australia NT is very expensive. However the lady at reception
is very polite and always happy to help. The free cooked breakfast ls great too and has all the trimmings you need.

A comfortable bed, hot shower and good breakfast. We stayed two nights while visiting Katherine Gorge and surrounds.
Management arranged a pickup for us to the Katherine Country Club for dinner.
We are city slickers and this was a very different experience for us. I supported the club fundraising raffle and Surprise! I won the meat tray of the night. The Hotel Manager arranged for the onsite hotel manageress to accept the meat tray and fridge it for us quite late in the evening. Best wishes and thanks to you both. Very decent kind management.

Friendly receptionist. The extra large room had more than enough space very clean and smelt wonderful. It is very obvious that the cleaners are very proud of their work. Everything was meticulously placed and neat. I will choose to stay here again.

A shambolic experience…
So we checked in in the early afternoon. Even as we checked in I expressed my concern at the charge for our accommodation saying to the receptionist that they were charging as much as a Sydney or Singapore hotel. Collected the key and found room 19. A deluxe studio!
$404 dollars a night. There were drifts of dead leaves outside our door. There were four large mattresses leaning against the wall outside our door. The room was very tired. No windows. I tried to replace a bulb in a the light over the table. Didn’t work. Opened my laptop. No wifi. Went and saw reception and asked to speak to the manager. Her reply, ‘Oh well the wifi comes and goes. Must be something wrong up in that big blue sky. Been like this for a few months’. Upshot of all this was that we checked out and with the help of Booking.com managed to get a refund. Not a good experience.
