Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel gets a massive 5 star rating from us as we were able to check in at 9am rather than wait until 2pm! After being dropped off by bus at 5am we were ready for bed - we waited outside the hotel with the hope of just being able to stop by the pool until our room was ready but ‘Chris’ happened to see us out the front and not only said we could check in then but that we had been upgraded to a large room on the bottom floor.

The air con was a God send, we had a microwave/kettle/toaster which as a couple who are travelling were able to improvise and make 3 breakfasts, lunch and dinners for the time we were there! The bathroom was clean and the shower very powerful - the only downside to the bathroom was that the cold tap wasn’t cold at all.. this was not a big issue as the fridge in the room meant you could keep water refrigerated.

The room itself was big enough for 2 people plus multiple backpacks and we had a double bed and a single bed. The TV included Netflix too so that we could watch whatever we fancied.

The pool and surrounding areas were very nice - Chris informed us they were currently refurbishing the hotel in places and that was why there was no sun cover over the pool but we didn’t mind.. after a day of outings we were able to take a dip and the sun was by then going down anyway! It was warm and was deep enough so you could actually swim.

Overall we had a very pleasant 4 days with the hotel and would definitely come back!

From the time I booked with Chris to the time I departed everything was really good. Due to Covid Chris explained there had been a few changes. Keys were placed in a secure box at the gated parking entrance and a code is provided to get yours out. Meals are not served there at the moment however this is not a problem as the Katherine club is a short few minutes walk away. The hotel bar is only open from approx 1000- 1700 hours and is separated from the accommodation area by a secure coded gate
The rooms are a delightful place to stay . Large comfy and extremely clean with a sparkling pool just out the front of them . As it was off peak season it was extremely quiet and peaceful.
Staff in the bar were friendly and helpful
I would certainly stay here again and would recommend the Stuart Hotel for accommodation if your in the area for work or holidays

We stayed at this motel for an overnight stay as we were driving from Kununarra to Darwin.

Room was a little small and this motel probably looks like it is from the seventies. However, it was reasonably clean. It does need a refurbishment with the soap dish missing from the shower.

There is a parking area which is fenced off, so this is an advantage as the motel is in the heart of the town.

Cigarette smoke from the adjacent pool area permeated our room and was extremely unpleasant.

Apart form that, we had an okay experience but we will not return.

The room service is once weekly if your long term . You get a sheet only on your bed no mater how cold you may feel there is nothing else . Leave a morsel of food and you will be attacked by ants . Arrived early and had music flogging my ears from 3 till 5 :30 . I’ve been here long term and wouldn’t recommend it to any one . I’ve had community camps providing better .
On the up it has a gated car park to for 3 cars out of 18 odd rooms . If you can educate people to park you may get out when required for work if not aim for ten if your lucky .

We had one night here and found the room had the basics and could use a bit of a freshen up. Good sized room, but we could hear neighbouring rooms easily, wifi didn’t work in the room, had to go outside. Walking distance to restaurants. Coded free car park gate not working.

This motel is great. In the heart of Katherine so right next door to Coffee club for breakfast. Good room with several comfy beds, brilliant hot shower, great aircon. The little things like coffee machine and 6 pods, cutlery, crockery, milk in fridge, quality shampoo and conditioner all made it a great stay.
Chris, the manager, is very friendly and helpful. He suggested The Club for dinner, 300 m away and was one of my favourite meals on our trip. Felt safe and parked car in front of motel with no problems. Pool looked fantastic!!! Thanks Chris, a great night!!

Haven’t stayed in pub accomodation since I was a kid, so this was a nice trip down memory lane. It’s not the Taj Mahal but was good, clean accommodation with all that you needed and very comfortable bed and great pool with BBQ area. Chris, the manager, was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. After hearing from other travellers about their bad experiences at other accommodation in Katherine, we were thankful we found this place.

We stayed 2 nights and felt it was value for money. Room was clean and provided facilities such as toaster, microwave, crockery etc. Staff were friendly and off street gated carparking added extra security.

I kind of like that I get keys from a safe, open the gate, park the car and I am done. No waiting for check in or filling our paperwork.
The rooms are always consistent. Older style but well kept and well appointed.
Only downside (I think this happened last time too) NO MILK!’ I had tea bags, coffee pods, coffee machine, sugar…. But no milk. If you’re like me you need milk for your tea / coffee first thing in the morning or you’re grumpy all day 🤣.
Otherwise it’s become my goto when in KTown.
