Spent two nights at this wonderful property during a Hawkes Bay wine tour. Hosts John and Christine are warm and gracious hosts of this magnificent estate on a hill in Hastings. The Lodge has been exquisitely restored and the accommodations are large and comfortable. Christine is an excellent cook and I recommend signing up early for dinners when making reservations....

The hotel is every bit as beautiful as their website would suggest. I wish we had organized our trip to stay more than one night in this lovely place. Our lodge bedroom had coffee and tea making facilities, plus fresh fruit and baked goodies. The grounds are really lovely. We hadn’t realized that we needed to give advance notice of...

In a word, unbelievable. That's in the best possible sense of the word. Kristine, John and their dog Nessie are the best of the best, two or four-legged. I'll spare you the long story (take a look at their website) except to say the pictures don't do justice to the view, the furnishings, the peace and quiet, etc. If there's...

The location, the common areas, the bedrooms and suites, the gardens and pool terrace are stunningly beautiful, and the service is there to match.
