Having spent a considerable length of time in a camper van, arriving at the White House was like stepping into heaven. Gorgeous location, beautiful house with a really welcoming atmosphere and a perfect room to escape from the camper van life! Emma and Steve are the perfect hosts. Welcoming and friendly and full of helpful and fascinating info about the... More

Lovely rooms with beautiful modern ensuite. Sun deck availible for all guests. Fantastic garden to enjoy your breakfast (and what a great breakfast!) Great location, central yet quiet. Free internet. Service was sensational - nothing was a problem. Fantastic hosts, freindly and laid back. Finally somebody who understands the need for a late breakfast (if requested) when you are on... More

We stayed at the White House for a week in November 09, and the only complaint was that we had to leave. Russell is a great place to ber anyway, and the White House is a great place to be in Russell. The accommodation is excellent - we both travel frequently for business and this rates up at 4-5 star... More

I have just returned from my 2nd visit to the White House in Russell. Having been there 2 and a half years ago I wasn’t expecting much to have changed and fortunately I was proved right (except the welcome addition of a travel shop beautifully added and ran by the host Emma). The house is as charming and welcoming as... More

Just back from our second stay with Emma and Steve, and hope that we’ll be able to visit again in the not too distant future! Loved the garden – recommend breakfasting outside, lovely setting, and take some time for a dip in the hot-tub. Rooms are lovely, and it’s great having a visitors lounge and Sky TV as well. All... I will admit not being a lover of Lodges, so you must take what I say about the White House with that in mind. You arrive at the front of the place, it looks untidy, you then go via the back passageway to the back door, the garden looks untidy and generally the whole outside looks in need of care... More

With our generous breakfast times from 8-12 and only 6 people staying at any one time it is very rare guests all have breakfast at once. We have a dining room table which seats 4, a breakfast bar which seats 2, 2 outside tables which seat 6 each and seating for 6 on our upstairs deck for a more private... More

The White House is on a quiet side street, close to the sea. Emma and Steve really makes you feel at home without intruding. The decoration is very nice with some ingenious touches like peebles embedded in the floor in the bathroom, a touch sensitive bedside lamp, ... Overall a very nice stay.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the White House. Steve & Emma were great in advising how to make the best of our stay. The rooms and facilities were great and we felt very comfortable and spoilt. Russell is a lovely quaint scenic village. Hopefully we will return.

We had a lovely stay at The Whitehouse. Our hosts, Steve and Emma, were really helpful and friendly; they make you feel really welcome in their home and go out of their way to keep you informed about whats going on locally etc. The rooms were lovely, really well decorated and so comfy; the chocolate and the port were a...
