We stayed one night and were very impressed. Had booked a cabin, but on arrival were upgraded to the Porae Cottage, a 1953 building which started life as a Swordfish Club, then St John Ambulance station and now a fully self contained quirky cottage. It was very comfortable. Angela (and Don whom we didn’t meet) have a beautiful holiday park,...

One of the cleanest and nicest camp grounds I've been to! Surrounded by nature and birds who couldn't ask for more. We booked the tipi for two nights but unfortunately the weather did not hold for the second night, but we were moved to a cabin without hesitation which was great! Also just a 5 min drive from Russell itself....

We spent two nights here in September. The hosts were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. He showed us all the things we might be interested in doing our stay (taking into consideration our two preschoolers) and then showed us where to park and let us get settled in. The pizza oven was a delight. Yummy, chicken and cranberry wood fired...

The self-contained 3-bdrm house was really well set up - lovely grounds even in winter. Lovely people and just so relaxed. Highly recommend it to a family or group of friends (sleeps up to 7 people). Even had quite a few Pokemon around the mangrove walkway area for the kids to catch!

We had a fantastic experience at this holiday park, it was just perfect for a family of five - cosy little rooms (recommend - book bigger rooms if you want more space) - there are options to suit all, the pizza oven was the draw-card in the evenings, we made fantastic friends around this area, the kids loved the pool...

We took our staff here for a staff trip and stayed in one of their self contained unites. Had everything we wanted and perfect little get away. We came on a cold night but the cottage had heating which heated the place quickly and made it comfy. the cottage felt sheltered with even a little deck facing the bush line....

We stayed at this campsite for a couple of days, all amenities are very good but it is a protected site for the Weka birds, flightless and quite tame. They also encourage the kiwi bird to nest there. Very central for Russell, and across the road there are duck boards leading through a mangrove swamp. Very quiet and peaceful and...

We stayed here in order to complete the circular Paihia-Russell day walk. Access to the walkway was easy and convenient, the accommodation (eco-cabin) was exactly as described and our hosts were very welcoming. If you want a quiet friendly place to stay away from the noise of the towns then this is ideal.

Our whole family stayed here for a family reunion and found it suited our purposes well. We had the Holiday House, the Tourist Flat, the Bungalow, the Cottage and a powered site, so it is fair to say we experienced everything. The best part of the stay was the warm pool, which the children and adults used daily. The tourists...
