We had a wonderful 4 nights at the camp site. It was quiet, peaceful including all the amenities that you could possibly hope for. Spacious pitches. Welcoming, caring and knowledgeable owners. Easy access to the circular walk leading to Russel. The owners really did their best to make our stay perfect - their kindness and understanding made our stay. We...

We have three kids aged 3 to 8, and really enjoyed the laid back, family orientated feeling of the campground. There was plenty for the kids to do at the site, and all of Russell's beaches and other amenities were a short drive away. Everything was clean and tidy, and the owners were very hospitable and full of good information...

A relaxed environment to camp for a week with our pug dog. We based ourselves here with our tent site at the back of the camp under the trees. Was nice to see the weka Tui etc so prevalent. An easy drive to beach + town. A bit far to walk. Amenities basic but always clean. The pool is a...

We spent 7 days in a touristflat and 10 days in our tent. The touristflat is very sober and quality-price is not in full balance. However the location is perfect and the staff is very friendly, particular Mingo showed a great spirit and is very helpfull. Angela and Don, the owners, show great hospitality and Angela gives best advices to...

We camped here in Summer 2016 in a tent, most of the pitches were not mown or cared for, facilities run down and one block close to us was closed meaning we had to walk to the front of the campsite every time to use facilities. Site appears run down and in need of some care and attention. Quite a...

We stayed here for 3 nights on a non-powered tent pitch. The spot was nice and quite peaceful, a little away from the pool which was good for us. The kitchen area was always clean (bring all your own plates, pans etc) and there are fridges available to use. We appreciated all the recycling bins available too, and there was...

We stayed for two nights camping in a tent on a unpowered pitch. Pros: 1 Wekas (native NZ birds) walking around, which were very cute. On the first night we could hear Kiwis too. 2. Russel itself is beautiful. Much nicer than Paihia. Cons: Lots of these unfortunately: 1. Showers: water either scorching or freezing. Kept changing during your shower....

We stayed one night and were very impressed. Had booked a cabin, but on arrival were upgraded to the Porae Cottage, a 1953 building which started life as a Swordfish Club, then St John Ambulance station and now a fully self contained quirky cottage. It was very comfortable. Angela (and Don whom we didn’t meet) have a beautiful holiday park,...

One of the cleanest and nicest camp grounds I've been to! Surrounded by nature and birds who couldn't ask for more. We booked the tipi for two nights but unfortunately the weather did not hold for the second night, but we were moved to a cabin without hesitation which was great! Also just a 5 min drive from Russell itself....
