Some of the friendliest people we have ever met manage this Motel. They welcomed us with open arms and said how much they appreciated us staying with them. The room was upstairs, room 11 . It was a good size with a king size bed and a single. It was spotless with a well equipped kitchen . It had an oven, microwave and all the utensils you would ever need. A well stocked assortment of tea, coffee etc which was topped up every day. The shower had amazing water pressure with ample hot water. Towels were changed every day and the room was cleaned and bed made. Sky tv was a bonus for us as we do not have this at home. There is a small swimming pool if you want to take the plunge which appeared to be solar heated. Allocated parking meant you always had a spot outside your room. The motel was in a good location 10 min from the city and easy to find. It is close to the beach and eateries. This well priced Motel is worth the visit, we stayed three nights and would not hesitate in staying again.…

Had not booked at all when arriving in the afternoon on the 26 TH Jan 2022, picked the Arcadia as it offered a quiet back street and had decent off street parking. Friendly welcome from the owner (Andy) and managed to secure their last family unit...phew! Such a clean and tidy 2 bedroom unit, beds were so comfortable and the renovated bathroom was first class. The pool offered us a welcome cool off after a hot drive, the location is so close to dining out as well as a short stroll to the awesome beach. Would highly rec. the Arcadia to anyone after friendly service, spotlessly clean rooms and a memorable stay, cheers.

We stayed at the motel for one night after 2.5 weeks of tramping, paddling, and camping in the bush. The studio suite was fantastic - well equipped with cookware, appliances, and essentially everything we needed. There was lots of space outside to hang, dry, clean, and organize our gear. The queen bed was comfortable and the satellite TV provided plenty of entertainment while winding down at the end of the night. The highlight for us was the staff hospitality. We received great information about local restaurants, shops, and amenities, while Andy and Jena also helped us tremendously with an issue we did not have time to resolve ourselves due to an early morning flight. They truly went above and beyond for two people they had just met. Do yourself a favour and stay at the Arcadia when in Nelson. You will not regret it. …

A lovely place to stay, very clean and very friendly owners. Thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay. 10 min walk to the beach and 10-15 minutes walk to places to eat. Staying at the Arcadia turned out to be a very good decision. Great location in a pleasant neighborhood with nearby beaches, parks and restaurants. Excellent walk ability! The area attracts many locals who are out enjoying this awesome place they call home. Good vibes indeed! Well kept and very tidy room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Our unit #6 was very quiet and it’s living room and kitchen would have made an extended stay easy. Knowledgeable and and host Andy made us feel comfortable and most welcome. He took the time to acquaint us with the area, providing good local maps and excellent suggestions for walking tours, pubs and even helping with restaurant bookings. Really first rate service! We were excited when we arrived & were upgraded to a 2 bedroom unit. Clean & comfortable. Quiet surroundings. Close enough to walk to beach, cafes, restaurants etc. Fully equipped kitchen if you prefer to cook. Swimming pool onsite. Bus to city centre close by or parking outside if you have a car. Great place to stay.

Jena and Andy are terrific hosts in this clean and well located motel, situated very close to the Tahunanui beach, stores and holiday park. Amenities are extremely good. Full access to Sky, wifi and laundry facilities. It’s a home-from-home in beautiful Nelson.
