We arrived off the cycle trail and Donna (I hope I have the name right) was really welcoming. We booked a double room with the shared bathroom. Comfortable bed, room basic but really tasteful and everything beautifully clean and spic and span. Showers were fantastic. Bar service, food and ambience fantastic. We plan to return for a longer stay.

Excellent affordable food. Amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Great ambience and really comfy beds! The Friday night we were there, they had the best local band we had ever heard! Central to the gorgeous Victorian Quarter and priced really well. Would definitely recommend a visit.

An evening visit, we tried their '1 kilo of pork ribs' & 'a dozen mussels' the ribs were very tasty, meat fell off the bone, great mussels cooked in a delicious white wine sauce, side order of saute potatoes not quite as good as the mains, interesting & characterful bar & snug, friendly & efficient member of staff, would certainly...

Very clean facilities, includes kitchen and continental breakfast. The only downside to staying here was it was very noisy - being above a pub - so make sure you have earplugs with you. Otherwise great central location, comfortable accommodation.

We almost didn't stay here as booking proved difficult. We used the book now link from their website and never had a reply from that. In the end we emailed them directly and did receive a reply from that email a day or two later saying they did have a room available. The hotel was easy to find and there...

We sat in the lovely little area with the lounges and fireplace. Great meal and friendly staff. The kids were able to sit and enjoy playing with their cars and we were able to enjoy a beer and some mussels. Brilliant and I would happily come back.

My wife and I booked this meal some time ago to celebrate New Years Eve in the Southern Hemisphere after checking it out through The Lonely Plant Guide. The food was great (but if you can't serve good lamb in New Zealand where can you serve it?) , but I felt we were rushed into ordering , no dessert menu...

Hot day in Oamaru so called in for a beer. Quirky and quaint. Great snug with a beer on the chesterfield sofas. Service was great. We'll worth a visit. They have some local craft beers as well. Lots of cool historical info on the walls.

We wanted to stay central in oamaru and the criterion was perfect. We hadn't booked and the bar attendant suggested we check the rooms first. 1. They are very small and only single and double (not queen) beds on offer. 2. Only one had an ensuite. We're bits of snobs but loved this place, though only for a short stay....
