This was the fourth visit to Portland in as many weeks but the first overnight at this motel. The décor was tired but appeared clean. The bed was hard and the heater was extremely noisy. I'm not sure why we were given a room facing the main street as it appeared there were only another two couples staying, but we...

Stayed 3 nights on a travel auctions docket, this means room only, our room was not serviced at all,no clean towels,no tea or coffee replacements, when asking at reception were told they were the conditions of the travel docket. You bid,pay and then receive the docket which then tells you of these restrictions by which time it is too late. You are made to feel...

We stayed three nights on a Travel Auctions voucher we had purchased. We did not expect anything too fancy and we were correct. On the second day we were told that they don't service Travel Auction rooms. Rooms are small but quite adequate. However, the mould growing in the shower recess had a terrible smell and if you left the...

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. The location is good in the Main Street with plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. Accommodation is budget and decor and fittings are dated, however in its favor it is cheap, clean, has comfortable beds and hot showers

We booked a travel package to stay here. We were looking forward to visiting Portland for the first time. On arrival we checked in and were given the keys and no other explanation was given other than the town map. Asked about wifi and were told it was $10 per night. Declined paying $40 for wifi for four nights. We...

This was a business trip and was difficult getting accommodation at reasonable prices due to school holidays. However I must say the William Dutton is certainly handy to the city of Portland, small as it is. Was only an overnight stay and last minute booking.

In a good spot as we were dining at the Royal Oak hotel - the room was clean but basic, switches in a strange place, the bathroom very dark and needs at least a night light as if you get up through the night you wake everyone up switching on the light/fan which is extremely noisy. We were warned not...

We booked rooms here at the last minute as many hotels/b and b's on the Gt Ocean Rd were fully booked. After reading some of the reviews we were a bit wary but were very pleasantly surprised. Our rooms were clean and well equipped. Yes I did set the fire alarm off with the toaster but that was no great...

The motel accommodation was adequate but very much in need of updating especially the bathroom. Our room was very noisy and when asked if we could change we were knocked back because of possible influx of basketballers coming. We were very doubtful if many stayed there actually??? The situation was excellent apart from the noise as it was walking distance...

A booking was made via a booking agency 3 months before the visit date. The full amount was deducted from credit card the following day. The booking was cancelled within 24 hours. Even though it was cancelled within the time limit that no fees applied, they have still kept $25.00 plus. Approximately 6 telephone calls were made to get a...
