One issue which somewhat detracted from our stay (and noting that there is probably little that the motel can do to address this) is that the guests from the two adjoining units both left around 6am (on a Saturday morning) and with nose in parking to the units and only a single pane of glass their engine noise woke us up much earlier than we had hoped. Maybe the hotel could request guests to reverse park to minimise disturbance to other guests when leaving?
At $99 per night the Mariner Motel is excellent value and we would be very happy to stay again.

😡Downside: they provided simply towels and a bottle of hand wash, without shampoo, body wash, or other items. Fortunately, we had our own toiletries. There is no ventilation in the bathroom. As a result, the unpleasant odour persists. The management, perhaps the owner, was grumpy. Even when we returned the room key, he took it from my fingers like a hawk and said nothing kind, not even a thank you.
Well located and great value for money. Another unexpected bonus was that the tv has Netflix and Stan etc already installed.
I wasn’t surprised when the manager told me they were fully booked out even though it was a mid week night.
Thoroughly recommend the Mariner Motel.
Maybe a lamp for the rooms, but this is a personal ( and I like to read ) and very minor thing - does not reflect how pleased we were.

It was close to the things we wanted to see and we did have a car . I didn’t take a photo of the motel, but it was clean, and very near the places we wanted to visit. This was the first day of a six day trip to the great ocean Road.
We went to a nearby park for a very impromptu feast of seafood, and the view was stunning .
I don’t believe there was an option for coffee that was OK for us and we had brought our own coffee machine on our road trip . we also had a refrigerator plugged into our SUV, which made our road trip snacks and impromptu meals very easy.
The room was clean and fine
"Super easy access. Big sign is not lit when it’s dark, so drive carefully to the address or you might miss it. (Turnaround of course, but..)"Read full review
