Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We've decided now that it is so much better value to book on site cabins rather than motels if possible and we were so completely delighted with this place . Firstly it is located in a fantastic spot ,central to everything , across the road from the IGA supermarket . The hosts are so friendly and helpful . The cabin was nothing short of brilliant , it was a good size , with 2 bedrooms , one being the main with a queen bed , the other being a bedroom with a single and bunks . Nice bathroom with fantastic water pressure and instant hot water , really well equipped kitchen , had everything we needed . comfortable couch and great TV and then enough space for a dining table with 4 chairs .
We didn't feel cramped at all . the bed was so comfortable and the location was peaceful with trees just near us complete with a koala. The price was great value at $130 per night . I would definitely stay here again . The holiday village is a mixture of on site cabins, powered sites for vans , it has a playground for kids as well as a camp kitchen and amenities block. Wi-fi is included and it was amazing , so often wi fi is rubbish in hotels but this place was fantastic .
We stayed here 2 nights but could have happily stayed here longer .

The room is great value for money. Built in December 2020 I think, it's fresh, tidy and has all the facilities you need to tend to yourself. Laundromat is available on site, and the location is brilliant, its right in the CBD but far enough removed that its peaceful and quiet.

The reason I'd give this place 5 stars is the host, Nora. Nothing was too difficult for her, even organising baby stuff for us, helping us find our way around, she is a gem and goes above and beyond. If I won the lottery tomorrow I would still stay here on my next trip to Portland.

After travelling around NSW, SA and Victoria for almost 3 months with our caravan, we decided to call into Portland on our way back to Melbourne. Avoiding the large commercial parks, we found Portland Holiday Village. The park is set back behind a large old building, and can be a little hard to find. We were welcomed by the friendly staff and given information about the local sites as we checked in. The sites are a little small and the park is also a little old , but the location is ideal. There is a large supermarket across the road and a short walk to the main street and foreshore.
There is even free wifi available. Great location, nice park , friendly staff, well worth coming back.

We booked a cabin and when we got to the reception, we found that they ran out of cabins, but they are willing to "upgrade" us to a studio, since all other room types are occupied.
we were promised a better room with continental breakfast.
What we got was a tiny room above a busy and noisy restaurant, the fans from the kitchen where at the stairs to the studio, the cigarette smoke from the restaurant's balcony was reaching the room and the music at the restaurant was loud.
when we called the reception at 10pm to say we simply can't stay there, a villa was miraculously available for us.

I'm sure we were not the first to complain on this room.
on the bright side, both rooms were clean

This a fantastic place to stay, we stayed here for 2 weeks in a cabin, we were here for a fishing holiday, the cabins are great, there is ample boat parking, the managers are great and easy to get along with. It is centrally located, quiet.

We stayed in a standard cabin for 3 nights. It had been refurbished and was very clean. It was very good value for money. Location of the park is great as very close to beach, wharf and eating places. Staff friendly. Usually being caravaners it was great to see well maintained sites and surrounds. Nice BBQ areas, playground etc. Suitable for all ages.

Booked accommodation through an online site and paid for our cabin a couple of days prior to arrival. When we checked in, was told that on their end of the computer they couldn't see that accommodation was for two adults and two children, so it was a total of $40 extra for the kids. This was reduced to an extra $20 for "goodwill". Coincidentally, another family stayed at the same time we did and was told the exact same thing and extra money was needed to be paid.
Cabin was dirty with holes in the lino (trip hazard), rusty shower rail, chips out kitchen laminate, black marks on lino and stains on main bedroom wall from something that had run down.
My advice is to look elsewhere - for a total of $150 I am sure there is much nicer accommodation in Portland.

I arrived at Portland Holiday Village at 9pm to check in to an unpowered tent site. After going to the shops I realised at 9:30pm there were missing tentpoles. Fortunately the staff were still in the office at this time and I was able to upgrade to a cabin - which was very clean and comfortable! I was also given some tips on things to do around Portland. The campsite is very centrally located but also peaceful for either cabin or tent sleeps,

A pleasant Park in middle of town, walk to shops and harbour.Competitive price, friendly staff, cabins clean and comfortable. Don't miss the entrance an old building opposite IGA!!
Has big camp kitchen. Nice grass area for tents etc. Visit Cape Nelson and Cape Bridgewater whilst in area, and don't hold out for crayfish!

This is, in short a terrific place. I was greeted by a lovely lady called Ronnie, She was friendly, professional, cheery and gave me plenty of tips on where the local supermarkets, pubs and restaurants are. Your a gem Ronnie, there should be more like you!

I'm staying in a newer 2 bedroom cabin which is spacious, clean and very well appointed for a van park cabin. Full size fridge and a gas stove and oven are real bonuses. The bathroom is large and clean. The bed is comfy with fresh white linen and plenty of wardrobe space.

I'm travelling solo but the place looks good for kids if you are Holidaying with the little ones. There's a good looking playground and plenty of open grassed areas.

First impressions are always important in any business and Id like to thank Ronnie for creating a wonderful first impression for me. I've no idea what you get paid, nor should I of course but I reckon it should be more!

All in all I think this park is excellent.
